This is a lovely little market offering mostly Eastern European goods, with a heavy focus on Polish and German foods. While the majority of what is offered are imported packaged spices, beverages and canned goods, the star of the show, for me at least, was the deli section of meats and cheeses! As a German I can't pass up certain meats like Gelbwurst or my favorite, Leberkaese! knowing there's a market that offers my favorites helps me with being homesick for these treats! Eurozone also offers day old Broetchen from a different store which is nice as well. The atmosphere here is relaxed and while there are quite a few options, it doesn't feel overwhelming at all! In search of an ethnic ingredient and came to find this lovely shop. Their emphasis seems to be focused on Eastern European food with a small general representation of Western Europe. The quality of the products were good and they even had some excellent fresh fish as well. This is a lovely store with an abundance of polish and Russian foods. I bought fresh barramundi Tuesday, prepared it with butter and garlic in a cast iron pan, finished it with white wine, got it to 130 degrees and voilà! The best fish I've had in forever. Yes it's pricey but worth every penny-and costs way less than a mediocre meal out. Lots of unique items to be had at Eurozone and I like to try them out. I especially recommend the whole wheat farro for a simple side dish and the fresh pastries for a real treat. And the selection continues to grow. read more

Kept hearing good things about Eurozone and had hubby stop by to get fresh fish tonight for dinner. He picked up a nice piece of White Sea bass. It was very fresh and absolutely delicious. I prepared it with wilted spinach with garlic and pan seared the sea bass and then made a pan sauce with garlic, tarragon, a squeeze of fresh lemon, a splash of Sauvignon blanc, salt, pepper and butter to finish it off. Quick dinner that was so amazing. We will definitely be back to get fish and based on his description of the store, I can't wait to visit and browse. read more

EUROZONE in Albuquerque is my favorite European food store. It's the best specialty store featuring European cheeses, deli meats, dry goods and fabulously fresh fish. In fact, this is the only place I come to buy authentic German and Polish sausages when I get a crazing for them. I love bratwurst, knackwurst, real wieners, you name it. Ever since the ownership change, the reliability of service has degraded considerably. Have placed two orders for fish in recent months and when I have gone to pick it up, it was not there. When I asked why, the new owner became argumentative, placing the blame on me. Will no longer shop at Eurozone as they are unreliable and not customer friendly. They have moved to a location (same warehouse complex, but Building 500. Its now facing Osuna!! 3700 Osuna Rd NE, Ste 515. i just pushed a address update to the editors, but wanted to make sure people found them, there was a small confusing sign in the window of the old location, but i don't know how long that will be there. Looks like they have expanded the stock of cheeses and sausages since last time, they are still filling in things after the move, but i'm glad they moved! it was the type of place i'm sure very people found just on accident. Where has this place been?? I've been in the Albq. area the past year and just stumbled across this place this week by accident. It was a real treat to find East European charcuterie. The woman working there was extremely friendly and helpful and was very familiar with all the items in the store. Not a large selection or a place I would frequent unless I was looking for a specific item. But I got poppy seed paste that I couldn't find anywhere else in town (including Talin!) and a few other nice sauces and candies. Good shopping experience. read more

I went in to buy some foods for a German friend who is dieing of cancer and has two months. He is leaving town so today was my only chance. I asked to use the retroom. They DON'T have a restroom for customers. I had to leave. The place was a mess, boxes on the floor, looked likea junk store for food, real dirty looking place. Lost me as a customer. I also have a handicapped sticker. I think it is illegal to deny the use of a bathroom to a handicapped person. Basically, save your money. If they treat handicapped people and customers like this it makes me question what kind of people they are.n response. Don't blame me for rudeness. I said excise me where is your restroom. That is not rude andi I didn't have time to just stand around. The way it worked out I didn't make it to a public restroom in time and had to drive to my home in old town to clean up. By the time I could have gotten back you would have been closed. So I guess blaming someone with a handicap for your excuse is the kind of people you are. Take care. read more

Eurozone Food Distributors can be a little tough to find at first, but is a jewel of ethnic foodstuffs *SO* worth visiting!!! I count Eurozone as one of my favorite grocery stores in ABQ, along with Talin and Penzey's Spice. The store is a few doors south of Osuna Rd NE in an industrial park building behind the post office & Vic's Daily Cafe. Parking is extensive. Hours less so. Be sure to check open times to insure they are open when you stop & shop. Devon, the delightful proprietoress, stocks diverse foods from Poland, Czechoslovakia/Bohemia, Ukraine, Romania, Hungary, Russia, Lithuania, Greece, Turkey, possibly other Eastern European lands, and some goodies from Spain. The shelves & refrigerators/freezers display soups, condiments & side dishes, juices/drinks, breads, butters/jellies/jams, desserts, frozen fishes, cheeses, candies, dairy products, baking & cooking ingredients, and meats of various & diverse nature. The meats are typically sausages & lunch meats but she does also carry jamon Iberica, albeit at the usual & expected premium price for such a specialty item. Although, at Eurozone, the term specialty loses some of its punch, since everything in the store is a special item. Including Devon, whose cheerful personality & astonishingly encyclopedic knowledge of her wares make a visit both fun & educational. That is a good thing in case you were wondering. Wandering the rooms of this store reminds me of the shops I prevendered myself at when in Europe for several years. Eurozone, like those shops, has a not huge selection vis-a-vis American supermarkets with their acres of nutritionally marginal foods, but rather offers a few options on each item that are of high quality, exceptional flavor, and highly authentic to their locale of origin. While everything I've tried from here has been quite flavorful, my personal favorites so far are the poppyseed makowitz bread, kielbasa links, soups in a jar that are good for about 4 or 5 full servings, Polish chocolate candies, and especially the little $2 paté tins that make for easy & cheap sampling of the various flavors. Check the website to find hours of tastings when you may be able to introduce your palate to something new & different. Unfortunately, the sturdy unsliced bread loaves reminiscent of German roggenbrot (hausbrot) which I'm sure would make killer open-faced sandwiches come only in full size loaves. That makes for a race with mold or dryness when there is only one person eating it. An alternative are the cellophane wrapped bread slice packs that can be eaten in a shorter timeframe. I got from Devon some very black Lithuanian (I think) pumpernickel that was sweetly flavored almost like molasses. Extremely tasty! Next time I may try some of the lighter colored options. So if you are an Eastern European native, a Euro reverse ex-pat here in the USA for a while, or just an avid gastronome hunting high quality ingredients from east of the former Iron Curtain for staging a post-Perestroika dinner party, stop by Eurozone Food and check out the very diverse selection and very friendly welcome you'll find there. Wow, being from northest Ohio and recently having visiting there, we were just talking about how much we miss the foods from back home. Then today, I see a Facebook ad, which led us here. We went there today for the first time today. We met Devon and she certainly lived up to the great reviews. She has an interesting story too on how she got started. Needless to say, we walked out with some good sausages, braunschweiger, and sourkraught. Looking through everything we were not only impressed by Devon's personal knowledge of what she was selling, but the prices were amazing. Let me start by explaining that the proprietor, Devon, is awesome. Not only does she bring in good product and sell at very good prices, she is also extremely responsive to customer feedback. Before we learned about Eurozone, we made a point to travel out of state at least once a year to stock up on certain Eastern European staples that weren't available here at all. Now we just have to drive a few miles to get even the most esoteric of ingredients for our favorite dishes. Moreover, when we first shopped at Eurozone, Devon did not have one of our favorite Romanian jams. We asked about it, and within a couple weeks, she had it on the shelves. She's been able to do this for cheeses, meats, drinks, and pretty much anything else we've asked about. I mean, how often do you find a store that really does stock exactly what you want? Devon also holds special event tastings when she expands into new food markets to really make sure she is bringing in things we, the customers, will enjoy. read more

She gives great advice, cares about the quality of her food, and seems to enjoy interacting with her customers.
