Poor communication, poor follow-through, and ultimately another shop had to take over…read more I chose this Caliber location through the Travelers claims process after a May 12 collision. The repair itself was not the only problem. The bigger issue was the lack of ownership and follow-through. I noticed a bumper fitment issue before leaving the shop. They acknowledged it and attempted to correct it with an OEM replacement bumper. When that didn't resolve the issue, additional parts were pursued. The problem remained unresolved for nearly three months, with me repeatedly having to follow up for updates and coordinate return visits. There were recurring staffing and scheduling issues, including a scheduled vehicle pickup that the shop failed to make. I understand employees get sick and staffing issues happen. What I don't accept is the customer repeatedly having to absorb the consequences. When I finally asked Travelers to move the repair, the larger Caliber location near I-17 and Bell took ownership of the situation at my request. They independently evaluated the vehicle, identified that the fitment was not acceptable, and ultimately completed the repair correctly. A repair can encounter problems. What matters is how the business manages those problems. In my experience, I had to repeatedly chase this repair rather than having the shop proactively manage it. The contrast between the two Caliber locations was striking. One required nearly three months of follow-up and escalation; the other took ownership and got the vehicle properly repaired. I don't expect every repair to be perfect on the first attempt. I do expect a repair facility to communicate, keep its commitments, and take ownership when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, that was not my experience at this location.
