I had heard such incredible things about Eva from when she sold my best friends parents' home in Monterey Park for top dollar, over a million, for a home that all other real estate agents had told them would be impossible to sell for a million. tl;dr: An efficient smart lead and team that are always responsive and helpful far beyond close of escrow. Our family started looking for a home in Pasadena at the end of 2018. It was hard. Nothing felt right. And the agents we met were less than exciting and not terribly helpful. We found most of our listings on redfin. Honestly, with the information on the internet, I felt like an agent wasn't really useful. When we found our home, I was very excited but nervous about the whole process. We met Eva after we fell in love with the home. So I thought working with her would be the same as working with anyone else. But I was wrong. She is warm and professional, genuinely looking out for your best interest, and works hard for you at any and all hours. During negotiations, she made sure we were comfortable with the decisions being made, gave us excellent advice while still allowing us to make educated decisions, and made sure we were not overextending our budget. During escrow and the discovery period when things were getting heated with the sellers, Eva would have us step back and reassess to make sure we still liked and wanted the property. My experience with realtors in the past, including with my own cousin who is a realtor, is that their career motivation is primarily driven by money. There is nothing wrong with wanting to make money, money provides us with the opportunity to live comfortably and happily, which in turn gives us the opportunity to make a positive difference in this world by helping others. But what I have seen, again with those realtors I have known, including my cousin, is that the nature of this career seems to bring so much attention to the money that it becomes the end goal and nothing more, which is a shame. I also always thought that realtors depended so much on the MLS access to sell houses that often they would not really earn that commission, which being in California, and in LA County, is insanely high. I never felt that realtors deserved such a huge cut of a home that we put so much time and effort to maintain. I spoke to two realtors before I found Eva, one of them was my cousin, and during that time, I was highly stressed, I had been diagnosed with cancer the year before and with the costs of alternative medicine and not being able to work for that year, I decided it was time to sell the one asset I had to be able to continue to afford my treatments and to fully heal. And neither really could relieve the burden that selling my condo caused. I still found myself worried about who to hire to fix even minor things or to give a fresh coat of paint to the interior to make it move in ready. Enter Eva...She came to me on the first day with such certainty, she told me what I needed to do to make he home move in ready for a buyer, what colors to paint the interior and also had a team of people that helped her and contractors who were actually good that I didn't need to deal with because we all know that dealing with contractors can be a nightmare. Buying a home around the Pasadena area is highly competitive so we feel extremely fortunate that we found Eva. Yes, she was very responsive, detail-oriented, a pleasure to work with, etc., but these are qualities that you would expect from any good professional. What we really appreciated even beyond her professionalism was her ability to actually help us GET the home we wanted. Eva is extremely knowledgeable about the home buying process and she truly added value to our experience. For instance, she educated us on the finer points of the home loan process and made recommendations about what type of loan to pursue and from what type of bank in order to give us the best chance of securing the house we wanted. Thanks to her advice, we ended up beating out 12 other offers (including cash offers). Once we were in escrow, Eva's level of expertise continued to impress and benefit us. During the inspection process, for instance, she always knew what issues were major even though on the surface they appeared to be minor, and vice versa. She even took note that we inspected certain elements of the house later in the day when the light wasn't as good, and recommended that we take a second look during broad daylight to make sure that the seller wasn't hiding anything from us.
