finished color that was beautifully blended.

Mira is absolutely a miracle worker. I came in with brassy highlights and she completely gave my hair new life. I found the salon online as it was one of the closest to my NYC office and will not be going anywhere else if I can avoid it. She and her team are wizards! During my session, I also got my brows laminated by Diana who gave me excellent tips on tools, and products that I should be using at home. My brows were also given a complete makeover and I was left feeling uplifted and rejuvenated by our conversation. All in all, I went to Eva Scrivo looking ragged and came out feeling like Cinderella. I will be planning all of my work travel extracurriculars around making time at this salon with their exceptional team. Wow!

I've been to Eva Scrivo salon several times over the past decade, always a great experience. Carissa is an amazing colorist with such attention to detail and creativity - true artist. The result was better than I had imagined - she's sooooo good! I'm in love with my color !!!!

If you're in the city getting your hair colored and you're not going to Carissa, YOU'RE WRONG. She works miracles with color! I can't stress this enough: she's basically a wizard. I came in begging for help with the disaster that was my hair after a horrible attempt at balayage from another salon. I have graduation coming up in two weeks and I didn't want photographic evidence of this hair! Eva Scrivo took pity on me and set me up with an appointment with Carissa. I'm naturally brunette, but I came in with a head full of blonde. After looking at a picture of what I originally had in mind and talking through her plan, Carissa mixed and applied some dye. She was done in ~45 minutes. I couldn't be happier with my hair!!

The blonde gods have heard my prayers and delivered a beautiful angel named Meri Kate. I had the worst experience going to a well reviewed Japanese hair salon for a regular root bump. They completely bleached my hair and turned me into a female slim shady. Thankfully I found Eva Scrivo a beauty massive hair salon in flatiron. The service was absolutely amazing for starters. I felt like I was at the Ritz Carlton in Dana point California. Then there was Meri who was an absolute angel. She was so quick and gentle yet had a cool kid vibe. She completely took the best care of me n I was in and out for only $130 and in less than two hours. Everyone interested in doing anything to their hair PLEASE GO HERE!! I will be back in exactly 4 weeks for the next phase!!!

These people are "Blonde Specialists" the same way your corner Nail Salon offers Botox... SCAM CITY!!!! I had scheduled a Consultation at Eva Scrivo Salon on 7/22/20 so they could see my hair and tell me if what I wanted could be attained. I was told if I decided to have them do my hair, the consultation would be taken off my total bill- otherwise it would be a $100 fee. Since my hair was virgin (See PIC: My Virgin Hair) and had taken me 2+ years to grow out, I was willing to pay for this discussion time. In speaking with Eva, I showed her multiple pictures as examples of the color I was looking for. I stated multiple times that I wanted ULTRA ICY blonde sliced highlights with dimension- ie sharpness and separation (See PICS: Inspo #1 & Inspo #2). I expressed my concern that maybe my hair had too much red in it or that possibly my roots were not dark enough to be a good base. Instead of giving me an honest answer, she reassured me that they could absolutely give me the look in the pictures I had brought in- and added it would be even easier since my hair was virgin. As the salon prides itself on specializing in blonde color I said okay and made an appointment for 7/24/20. *NOTE: Photos did not upload in order, please go to See All to get a better feel of the "progression" from start to finish- or more correctly the LACK THEREOF. On 7/24/20 Carissa, a senior colorist showed me to her chair for a full head of highlights. I was told Eva had briefed her, but I continued to show her all of my inspiration pictures and describe the dimensional stand-out look I was seeking, including icy white pops while keeping my natural hair as the base color that made the dimension. While she was working I happened to ask her what her clients usually request and she responded that 99% want highlights all over and do not want to see even one strand of their natural color. Now this, added to the fact that the bleach was only left on for about 20 minutes tops- made me EXTREMELY NERVOUS!! I've been getting my hair done for 20 years and I knew that was not long enough to achieve the icy white I wanted. After paying for a FULL HEAD of highlights not to mention taking the time to have a CONSULTATION where I was assured they could give me what I wanted, I arrived home with the below results (See PICS: $500 Later & Also $500 Later). My hair was HARDLY lightened at all, basically NO COLOR below the crown, and $500 less in my wallet (including tip). Completely dissatisfied I went back the very next week on 7/31/2020 and complained it was nowhere near icy platinum, that there weren't nearly enough highlights, and that everything below the crown was COMPLETELY UNTOUCHED- even though I had PAID FOR A FULL HEAD!!! I brought out my inspiration pictures to prove my hair looked NOTHING LIKE what I asked for. Remember, I went in for a consultation as well- they could've and should've told me honestly they couldn't do it at that point and taken the $100. After all, WHAT ELSE would be the POINT of a consultation?? After round 2 my hair was still NOWHERE NEAR my inspiration pictures. In fact, although they added more color- they did it astoundingly incorrectly and gave me a Full-On FROSTED effect which is the EXACT OPPOSITE of the sliced dimension I REPEATEDLY described!! (See PICS: $850 Later & Also $850 Later) Bye bye 2+ years of growing my hair out. Carissa literally did not listen to a single word I said!! ALL of the strands were colored- just like she admitted she did for 99% of her clients!!! Including tip I was now out another $350 and disgusted with the scam these "socialites" were running. In the effort of being completely transparent, I actually did return back to Eva Scrivo Salon on 8/8/20 for a THIRD TIME as I was still completely dissatisfied with the work they did, and I am the type of person who thinks the person who did it is the best to fix it. I also paid yet another fee. By this time Eva had REVERSED her tune and actually said "sometimes virgin hair is a lot harder." If you remember at my consultation I was assured virgin hair is easier- So which is it?? Certainly one of them HAD to be a FLAT OUT LIE!! And now after spending over $1,000 you can clearly see that EVEN AFTER THE THIRD VISIT, they did not produce anything near what they had promised (See PICS: After $1,000+). The last 2 pics are from about 3 years ago, proving that my hair is ENTIRELY CAPABLE of being Platinum Blonde!!! Not only that- it only took ONE VISIT and $300. Eva Scrivo Salon is out to scam you HARD for the sole reason of making you come back again and again and again. They ARE NOT Specialists! A Specialist would be able to make you happy, a specialist knows how to LISTEN and perform more than one technique to precision. STAY FAR AWAY!! Seriously, WTF did I pay over ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS for?? (See PIC) I didn't even get a cut!!

At other salons, I have been told repeatedly that I have "so much hair," as though it were a problem or something I should feel guilty about. Appointments often felt rushed, and I would leave with a heavy, triangular haircut that made my hair look wider and harder to manage. Maria never made me feel that way. She was patient, took her time, and understood exactly where the weight needed to be removed without thinning my hair excessively or making the ends look weak. She gave me beautiful, soft layers that created movement, eliminated the bulky triangle shape, and made my hair feel lighter while still keeping its fullness. I was also nervous about going blonde because dark hair can easily turn orange, brassy, or damaged when it is lightened too aggressively. Maria created a soft ash blonde that looks elegant, dimensional, and natural against my complexion. It is bright without looking harsh, and the placement was designed to grow out softly so I would not be stuck with constant maintenance. What made the experience worth the price was the amount of care she put into every detail. Maria did not rush through my haircut or color because I had a lot of hair. She listened, worked patiently, and gave me exactly what I asked for while protecting the health of my hair. Maria is absolutely worth investing in, especially for anyone with thick, dense, textured, or naturally dark hair who has struggled to find a stylist with patience and experience. I highly recommend her at West Vibe Salon for layered haircuts, ash blonde balayage, dimensional blonde, and low-maintenance color in NYC.

My ends felt dry, the lighter pieces did not blend with my natural hair, and the grow-out always made it obvious that I needed another appointment. Maria at West Vibe Salon approached my hair completely differently. She focused on creating dimension instead of making everything lighter. She kept depth through my hair, added brightness where it would flatter my face, and blended the color so naturally that there is no obvious starting point. The result looks expensive but effortless. My hair has movement, shine, and contrast without looking striped or overly highlighted. The tone works beautifully with my complexion, and my hair still feels soft and healthy. I also love that I will not have to panic when my roots start growing because the balayage was designed to fade and grow out softly. This was the first time I left a color appointment feeling like the result actually matched my lifestyle. I wanted something noticeable, but I did not want high-maintenance hair or constant toning appointments. Maria gave me the balance I was looking for. I highly recommend Maria to anyone searching for natural-looking balayage in NYC, especially if you are tired of brassiness, uneven color, dry ends, or harsh grow-out. West Vibe Salon in Hell's Kitchen gave me the kind of personalized color experience I had been trying to find for years.

Appointments became rushed, started late, and lacked even basic professionalism. You're barely greeted when you walk in, and the overall tone makes it feel like you're inconveniencing them just by being there. I told them multiple times I had a head injury from a concussion and the lack of care was very concerning how abrasively they washed and handled my head. My most recent appointment was a complete failure. I asked for a warm, golden brown and came prepared with multiple reference photos. While the color was processing, I clearly flagged that it was pulling purple. That concern was dismissed, and the product was left on longer. The result was the darkest my hair has ever been, almost black with a cool, purple hue. The exact opposite of what I requested. The color job is all mismatched, the lower part of my hair significantly darker, the roots are sloppy and uneven. When I pointed this out, the response was defensive and dismissive. At one point, I was sarcastically asked if I wanted to "bleach it," which is an inappropriate and careless suggestion for already fine hair. It was mind blowing to have this handled so poorly and then be rushed through a cut that does not look anywhere close to the quality of the past cuts. I followed up requesting a refund, given that this will take months to correct and fade, and received no response for over 48 hours. It's not even about the money - it's about the severe lack of respect. What's most surprising is that this level of defensiveness and lack of accountability was unacceptable, especially after such a grave mistake. Instead of thoughtful adjustment and ownership, the response was dismissive in the moment and silent afterward. Mistakes happen. How they're handled is what defines a business. This was not handled well. NYC has no shortage of salons that can deliver both technical skill and professionalism. This is not one of them. Updating this with a pic and additional NYC HAIR SALON SEO terms so future customers are warned since the salon has decided to block me after no satisfactory resolution. The pic at the top right was me pre-hair f*** up. Only come to this salon if you'd like to come home and cry.
