Then they found out GM no longer manufactured my engine, so it would cost $7K for them to put in a used one. That didn't sound right to me, so I called Coffey to see when I could bring my car by the shop. I didn't tell them what the other repair shop told me. Coffey said it was the thermostat, and charged me $372. A big difference from $7K. Needless to say, I won't be going back to the shop that tried to cheat me. I was ok with that. He made his diagnosis then ordered parts from advanced auto parts. He calls me when he's picking up the part saying the store ordered and quoted him for the wrong part. At this point I'm completely understanding. He sends me a link to order the correct part. I ordered the part and then let him know it arrived. He came out to fix the car. I told him I was at work so my mom would be the primary contact and told him to reach out to her for anything. He comes out and starts working. I get a call from him at work. He didn't want to call my mom because he knew she was going to be livid. He couldn't do the job. He said there was a part that he needed that he didn't have. I'm irritated at this point but I appreciated him not doing a janky job just for the money. So I called around and eventually found a shop to tow the car to. Come to find out the part he had me order was the wrong part. So he was completely incompetent when it came to this job. Now I have to start completely over and I paid him $150 for him to give wrong information. I will not be calling him again and neither should you!

I had a terrible experience at this shop. I went to Chris for a labor only brake job for rear…read morebrakes & rotors (I bought my own parts prior). I was quoted 158 for this job the day prior over the phone and I confirmed at the start of the appointment if that would be the price. My brakes were in poor shape, missing a brake pad on one side and the mechanics spent an extra 15-20 mins working on my cylinder. At the end of the job, Chris informed me that they got air on the line and would have to bleed the brakes. (I've always had my brakes bled at the end of any brake job so this is standard for me to have done whenever I get my breaks done. They told me this would be an extra 120 dollars at the end of the job. My father is a mechanic and said that price was a little high just to bleed the brakes and was very familiar with the procedure. He told me "go call your dad and ask him to send you more money." When I asked if they could take 20 bucks off and knock the price down to 100 from 120 he asked me to tell him how old I was which I thought was rude and uncalled for. I told him I was 30 and he proceeded to say "wow you look 18" and said "one day you're going to have to learn that everything in life isn't free sweetheart." When I went to his office to pay he also said I'm going to have to buy him lunch because they spent extra time working on my car than they planned. Disgusting behavior. I would not recommend this shop to any woman (or really anyone) unless you want to be taken advantage of and upsold. They ended up bleeding one brake so my car would be somewhat drivable. My interior dashboard was also scratched up when I got my car back from them.

I told them to go ahead and replace the battery in hopes it would fix the problem. After it was done they called me up to pay and told me the total would be $280. Lower than before. So I am not sure if the first person gave me the wrong price or if I got a discount. Either way I got a new battery and all is good with the truck.
