U-pick zinnias -- 3 flowers per person Giant 60' tube slide ‍ 2 jumping pads 4 different playgrounds Soccer pool Goats + pigs Tons of cute photo ops And the apple cider slushies were a HUGE fan favorite with my kids! We did the scavenger hunt, completed puzzles inside the maze, and eventually wound our way through! It was a very hot day for the season, so the apple cider slushes and hayride around the farm were good rewards. They also served Native Bread cookies in the shop, so I had a pumpkin chocolate chip one. A very pleasing option for a gluten free and dairy free person like me! I bought cider to take home and it was fantastic and priced well. It cost $10 each to get back into the activity area, which was reasonable, but could get pricey if you're bringing a big family. So check rates ahead of time and save up! But we had a great visit and I'd go back for another fall adventure.

We picked zinnias, sunflowers, strawflowers, daisies and cosmos. We purchased 2 bouquets and with that amount made 4 bouquets at home. It's amazing how many flowers fit in a tall paper cup. I'm not sure if dahlias are ever available but that is one flower I would love to be able to pick a bouquet of. Totally thinking of having my kids' bday party here next summer. He also pointed out that they have a one year guarantee on their perennials for one price or you could pay the lower fee and take the plant as is. The snag I ran into with my family was how rude the front end staff was. We were glared at and not greeted. Then when it was time to cash out my mom asked one of the cashiers if she was open. The cashier rolled her eyes made a face and said yeah as though the last thing she wanted to do was cash us out. Her attitude was incredibly rude and disgusting!! The cashier that cashed me out wasn't much better. She didn't take the time to explain the difference between the 1yr guarantee and the as is price she just charged me the higher price without regard. Most home box stores only have a limited selection of perennials and usually don't have any at all. At this place I was overwhelmed by how much they had in stock to choose from. It's all great quality plants and flowers and the best part is it's about half the price you'd spend at the home box store. The prices were so good I filled up on several different bright colored flowers from dianthus to begonias to impatiens. I'm definitely coming back next year.

This week, I was on a mission to find creeping phlox for a new garden bed in my yard. (My mother had phlox in the yard when I was growing up, so it brings back memories.) I called and they immediately said yes, they had some. The parking lot was packed when I arrived mid week. People had carts filled with annuals. A clerk et me in the parking lot and knew exactly where to send me for the phlox. The greenhouses are immense and pristine. The plants are beautiful and healthy. They had the phlox that I was looking for in three different colors. I picked the lavender. There were lots of beautiful hanging baskets and yard decor that was tempting, but I resisted. Check out was easy in the main building. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the plants. Three days later, the phlox is thriving in my yard.

I love the look of the flower and decided to grab two of the 4" plants for my balcony garden. I had just been using a pair of kitchen scissors for my garden shears and I have been gardening with bare hands. I did not like the first pair of gardening gloves I had bought elsewhere, but I found myself pleasantly surprised with how well the gloves fit me here. I decided to get a pair of gardening gloves too, to at least try to save my nails in the future, along with actual garden shears. My mouth almost dropped open when I was told that the total was under $40! I was so surprised, I checked the receipt. Nothing was missed, the price was just that good. I fear my gardening game has been lacking in previous years before going to local garden centers rather than national chains. I hope I will have more room next year and I can pick up a fruit tree and some vegetables and herbs, because that selection was likewise fantastic and plentiful.

It's been a treat to watch how this corner of downtown continues to transform and all that they have planned for the garden nursery, distillery and event center. We visited yesterday and had too much luck finding all sorts of items for our spring garden. We purchased lavender, Delphinium, marigolds, lots of herbs, lilac bushes, and several other items. The staff is super friendly and helpful. You will also find potting items, trees, bushes, small gifts and several vegetables available. I'm always impressed by the fun and engaging events that they host here throughout the year. For example, coming up for Mother's Day, they are hosting a potting workshop for kids to make gifts for mom.
