We wanted potatoe salad with 2 platters but cold salads can't br added to the platter. Called in my order and was told to give them 15-20 minutes and this place is CASH ONLY. Platter came to about $52. I observed a male who appeared to be the cook, 2 females and the cashier. The kitchen area looked too clean for food to have been prepared there but I did observed the yams being pulled out of the over whole there. Noticed an area that held the cold salads. Pictures on the walls, a TV and a few tables and chair inside. The yams were good but could've been cooked down a bit more as some pieces were hard. The mac and cheese was great. The fried fish was perfectly fried, I could've used more seasoning in the batter. The fried fish was good and seasoned well. I noticed they also sold drinks, but I wasn't expecting to pay this amount for lunch, so I decided to go without drinks.

Atmosphere low lighting old school set up low noise. Service: family run black owned business. They are very customer focused and are happy to customize your platters. They offer drinks, dessert and different soul food: turkey wings is a popular one. My favorite are their Halal wings which are cooked just right with some hot sauce and garlic and I am so happy. I don't even get home before I've eaten most of them. Overall my experience here has always been good and I always look forward to going back and I miss them when I'm not in the area. I hope you enjoy your experience.

Nestled next to Lincoln Drive, Mount Airy Tavern is a local spot that juggles the paradox of being a dive bar and family-style restaurant. Environment This restaurant is a nice embodiment of exposed brick and gentle conversations.I've only sat inside on one occasion and the service was prompt yet inviting. Food This is where the restaurant truly shines. Yes,they have a handsome selection of local beers but the food outshines them all. Typically, I grab the Cajun Shrimp Pasta(only for those that can handle and appreciate spice) but if you're on the hunt for a quick snack the Parmesan Fries are also delightful. THE SAUCE Without question, this is my favorite restaurant in the Chestnut Hill/Mount Airy area. I would recomened this place to anyone looking in need of of a restaurant for a modestly priced first date or somewhere to rest your work demons. Happy eating!

The burger tasted kind of plain even though the description sounded great, the meat itself tasted really charred, as if it was cooked on a dirty grill which didn't taste good. My wife had the three cheese grilled cheese which was great for such a simple sandwich. The staff was pleasant enough and service didn't take long. May or may not try again, but if we do it certainly won't be for the burger. 2 beers and 2 meals only costed $44.95 after tax so it was worth it for a fairly cheap night out.

I paid attention to how the staff would handle the situation. After helping the current customer, the cashier gave him a cup of juice. I didn't see any payment, so I assumed it was offered to him. As he stepped outside, I asked my husband to check if he wanted something to eat. When my husband came back, he told me he had given him money. While that was kind, I honestly would have preferred to get him food myself just to make sure he actually ate. A few minutes later, the man came back in and sat at the counter. At first, I didn't see anyone approach him, but shortly after, the staff brought him a bag with food. I'm not sure if he ordered through the take out window then came in, paid the waiter, or if it was provided to him, but either way, it meant a lot to see. He took his food and left. What stood out most was that the staff didn't ignore him, rush him out, or treat him like he didn't belong. At one point, I even heard a staff member ask if he had received his juice, which made me think this wasn't their first interaction with him. In a world where people are often overlooked or dismissed, it meant a lot to see a business show simple human kindness. Treating people with dignity and empathy shouldn't be rare--but unfortunately, it often is. For that alone, Honey's Sit 'n Eat deserves recognition. Oh... and the food is always great!

I do not know the names of different types of seafood, and whenever I dine out, almost every server asks if there are any dietary restrictions or allergies. As I read through the menu, the dishes sounded new and delicious. I said, "This sounds great--can I try this tilapia thing?" I specifically referred to it as "this tilapia thing" because I did not know it was fish. I don't eat fish, I had no idea people eat fish for breafest and I don't know they name of any seafood. Well I know bass and salmon :-) When our food arrived, I saw that my dish contained fish. I immediately informed the waiter that I could not eat it because it was seafood. His response was, "What, you didn't know tilapia is fish?" Despite his obnoxious tone, I replied respectfully, "I had no idea that was fish."He looked at me with clear disdain and said, "Well, I still have to charge you for the fish, so what else would you like?" I replied that I did not want anything else, just the bill.I will never set foot in Honey's again. I am deeply disappointed by the way I was treated and I am not a fan of privileged individuals who believe they can treat others with disdain and disrespect. Never Again!

There are quite a few dumpling options that stay on the menu year round plus special seasonal flavors that are absolutely delicious!! I found them about a year and a half ago and have ordered almost every single day they've been open ever since. The dumplings are phenomenal and packed with flavor- we LOVE the Cheesesteak, Honey Chipotle Chicken, Mexican Street Corn and Broccoli Cheddar as staples. As for seasonal flavors there are so many but one I wish they'd make a staple is Chicken Parm! They are beyond incredible and I bought a ton of the flash frozen when I knew they'd be gone soon. Unfortunately they only lasted so long and now I'm without and my family is counting down the days until it's back. We also LOVE the French Onion Soup and Grilled cheese with tomato soup! They not only have dumplings but have noodle bowls that will blow your mind. The chicken Pot Pie was amazing and I'm dying for us to try the General Tsoz noodle bowl as well. The owners truly care about the business and their customers and the staff is incredible, helpful and kind. If you are looking for something a bit different, absolutely delicious, and addictive you MUST give them a try! You won't be disappointed! They are on DoorDash, GrubHub (although I somehow became out of radius after ordering for a year daily), Toast App and on their website for delivery.
