I got married last weekend, and had what is now dubbed a "micro wedding". With just 14 people attending, including my now husband and myself, I thought it would be a breeze to handle the "day of" stuff myself. Flash forward to 3 weeks before my wedding, and even though it was a small wedding, I knew I was still in over my head with the timeline and small day of coordination details. I was going to be the contact for everything for my own wedding! I was starting to stress out hardcore. Enter Robin and Megan to save the day! EBR came highly recommended by my photographer, and I was blessed they had our wedding date available, especially being so close to the day. This was one of the best decisions we could have made. We had zero stress on our day. Robin anticipated everything, and Megan was extremely helpful as well. From the big things like planning the timeline and coordinating the vendors to the little details like bringing cute things to add to my details pics, Robin and her team do it all. I knew we were in good hands when I told all my vendors who my wedding planner was - everybody was like, "oh she and her team are the best!". I totally agree. Not only are they awesome, but so incredibly down to earth and real. Always a plus in the wedding industry to deal with honest, not fake or corny people (in my opinion). Events by Robin was amazing to work with. I will start by saying I was a high maintenance bride. I had a pretty good ideas of what I wanted and needed someone to help me make my vision come true. EBR 100% did just that. They set me up with their vendors they knew would give me what I wanted. They were committed to keeping an open line of communication with me (something that I struggled with at different points with vendors that I had picked on my own) and on the day of the wedding I handed every little detail over to Brandi (one of their lead planners) and was able to enjoy my wedding day! The money I saved with the vendors that EBR set me up with more than out weighed the cost of hiring EBR for what they call a month of wedding planning and a mini design. But to be honest they did so much more than that. 6 months before my wedding they were sending me vendor lists and setting me up on apps to help me manage what I needs to get done before my month of planning began with them.  This plan worked best for me because I wanted to be really involved. They have different wedding planning services for every bride depending on what your needs are.  Lastly. If you want to have fun at your wedding you have to get a wedding planner, period. And if you are going to spend the money on getting a wedding planner, Events By Robin is worth the investment. read more

I do not even know where to begin with Robin and her team. If I had to do this all over again, Robin would be the first person I would book. Even if I were to get married in a park, backyard, or the venue I booked, I cannot stress enough how important she was to me and my wedding. Man, what can I say to sum up the impact Robin made on our wedding.. "Not able to do it without her"... "vision came to life"... "a friend as well as a wedding planner".. We had a Pinterest board and I had personally made an excel chart of what I thought we needed for the wedding of our dreams. What no one tells you about wedding is that there are not a ton of BIG decisions, there are hundreds of "micro-decisions".. Organizing all the vendors, contracts, payment schedule, timeline, seating chart... I couldn't keep up with it. Robin is fantastic at what she does and she always answers the phone and/or shows up with a smile on her face. Nothing is a "big deal" for her and she is good at making recommendations while not telling you what to do. THE ABSOLUTE BEST PLANNER. You will not regret working with Robin and her team. Made my wedding amazing and was there for all my moments of stress and indecisiveness. My husband and I had our wedding at Hotel Seven4One and Robin was the planner working with them at the time. My husband and I had no idea what we were really doing so being offered the option of having a wedding planner was something we definitely were happy to have! From the first moment of contact, we immediately felt so reassured and eager to get planning!! I got the pleasure of working directly with Robin from day 1 of our wedding planning after securing the venue. She is very hard working and professional. After securing our location, we got an email from her and her team about what to expect. From there, Robin was always on top of planning and scheduling, and letting us know what our deadlines were. She is available by all means of communication (phone, text, but preferably email!!) Email is the best means of communication anyways so you can refer to it faster when you need to! :) She responds very quickly, I never had to wait more than 24 hours for a response! Robin helped with all aspects of our wedding planning. She met up with us initially to get a feel for what we wanted, provided us with a list of vendors to choose from (but also let us know we could choose whoever we wanted even those not on the list), and then helped to set up communication with them. She was also great with letting us know general price ranges and what was the norm so that we wouldn't get overcharged. She helped us set up our budget and made a wonderful spreadsheet so that I could rest assured I wasn't overspending. (I know, I probably could have made one myself..i actually even tried but since I was all over the place and stressing out I couldn't get a nice and organized one made) It was extremely helpful for her to help make one because she even allocated money for each category so I was able to budget my money more effectively. She ensured to hit every one of our details that we mentioned on our first meet and it was obvious to all of our guests. Even over a month after our wedding our guests are still raving about our wedding and I'm sure a lot of that is because of Robin. The day truly went off without a hitch. I wish I could replay the day of our wedding over and over as it was truly magical. It's hard to believe people get married without a coordinator as I relied so heavily on Robin. Everything was touched by her expertise...the flowers, the linens, the desserts (donut wall), the DJ...the list goes on. Robin makes sure no stone is left unturned. One thing that is true testimate to Robin's character and level of professionalism is how she has handled a situation with one of our vendors. Even over a month after our wedding Robin is still there, in our corner, making communication with our photo booth guy (which by the way, was NOT her recommendation....sadly, it was our suggestion and has turned out to be our one and only regret). During our wedding, Robin had to (unfortunetly) involve the security team at Rancho Las Lomas as our photo booth attendant brought an unwelcome guest with him. This guest ended up being escorted off of the property as her attire and presence was an eye sore. You want to know when you realize you picked the BEST coordinator? When the dust settles and your able to sit back and go "holy cow, our wedding was PERFECT". We never knew until 3 days after our wedding, that this unwelcome guest was escorted off of the property. Wow!! Robin and Brandi made our day!! Robin began by helping us plan a wedding for my daughter and son-in-law in Med school. We had to take into consideration family from New Mexico, friends from all over the US and all without the bride and groom. Details, details, detail!!! She was there whenever I called, emailed or texted. She helped on keep on a very tight budget and we had the best recommendations for DJ's and decor. I've battled with the idea of writing a review because every time I sit down to write, I'm flooded with negative emotions and tears. I am writing a mini-version of my original intention as to not dwell on all that went wrong. Our venue, Seven4One worked together with Robin to offer day of coordination. We opted for full coordination but many months after booking, Robin didn't seem to realize we had already purchased the package. She came off extremely friendly, well spoken, and professional, however, her delivery of what she promised as well as what was expected and outlined in her description was absolutely sub par. In a nutshell, she forwards you google documents for YOU to complete and a alleged "secret preferred vendor list" that is also available online. Finding amazing vendors (Paul Fenner Florals, Priscila Valentina Photography) were the best parts of our wedding. We met with her a total of 5 times, 2 of which we requested. She seemed disinterested in the details of our wedding until about 3 months prior! She often made things seem casual, and had a very "of course we will do that" attitude! In the end, these are just a few of the things that were her responsibility that were not fulfilled: 1. When the venue was not cleaned after rehearsal the night before, I called her the morning of our wedding, and she never called back! She just showed up 4 hours later around noon. 2. She had never objected to a loveseat being rented for pictures, but the morning of, the site manager told us they could not bring it to the suite. I would have never rented it, had she given any inclination it would be a problem. 3. Piano was brought and set up at ceremony not reception (the groom pointed it out) 4. No one asked guests to stand up for the bride walking down the aisle (she assured us it would be done) 5. The flower pedestals were in the wrong position for the ceremony 6. The guests were not told to enjoy champagne at the ceremony site for 45 min prior to coming to reception site; therefore guests were cramped into venue (watching awkwardly) while my family and I took pictures. That was by far the most stressful part as I had allotted one full hour for pictures to ensure quality. 7. She did not ensure seats were filled in the back row therefore late arriving guests never got a seat (something else she assured us she would take care of) and many others... In conclusion, I know that her maternity leave/newborn son had everything to do with her apathy concerning our wedding. I hear her assistant is very good and I wish I would've hired her instead! My husband had to take over full communication with Robin because I couldn't fight back the tears of disappointment. The day of my wedding I don't feel that Robin was not very kind, she didn't seem to put much effort into my wedding. I know she is talented but I was under the impression that she didn't take my wedding seriously because her services are included in the package. Instead of checking the updated schedule she printed an outdated one, making it hard to do the walk through and there were no reserved signs on chairs for my family members which was upsetting because it took me a long time to figure out where they would be sitting. read more

After finding Robin on the California Wedding Day website, I knew I needed to give her a call. All of the pictures of weddings and events that Robin has done were STUNNING and exactly the vibe I wanted my husband and I's wedding to be. If you are looking to plan the perfect wedding in Laguna Beach, but you're terrified of planning it yourself, look no further than Robin Ballard! We worked with her for our big day this past Labor Day Weekend at Seven4One, which is an amazing space that was very intimate for our wedding party of about 90 people. My wife and I felt overwhelming dread about planning our wedding, because we didn't know what we were doing and we also suffer from perfectionist tendencies. We either wanted a perfect wedding; otherwise, we didn't want to have one at all! ;) We had worried about fitting a planner into our budget, but then we found Robin. Needless to say, those budget worries were unfounded. Robin was worth every penny! Not only did she make the planning process as stress-free as possible, she helped us plan the best possible day with our budget. She helped us find great vendors, all of whom were very professional and did an amazing job. She even set up a straightforward "vendor meet day" with florists, cake people, DJs, and rentals so that we could make a lot of our decisions at once. Robin was always available over email and phone with any questions. My wife and I definitely bombarded her with lots of emails, and she stayed on top of everything even while she was busy handling other events. And when my wife and I made a last-minute addition to our plans to include a rehearsal dinner, Robin went above and beyond to not only plan it, but also she designed the decor. We were blown away! The wedding venue we selected (the Hilton in Huntington Beach) required to have a day of wedding coordinator. I was given a list of coordinators our venue worked with to pick from. After doing my research on the list of people we could pick from I decided to go with Robin. Robin was WONDERFUL to work with from start to finish! From our first meeting at Starbucks to talk about my desires for my wedding I could tell she was the right pick for us. I decided to add on her month to month checklist which was extra service for an additional cost which was well worth it as it helped me figure out what we needed to be doing to plan/organize for our big day. Robin used Google docs for the month to month checklist which I found to be extremely efficient and helpful. The day of schedule was also done on Google docs so that was great as well. Robin was EXTREMELY helpful with all my questions, offering advise/suggestions and was quick to reply to my emails. She is really friendly and professional. The day of our wedding Robin and her team were AMAZING! Robin always kept me informed as to what has going on, what would happen next and came to my rescue when I needed help with wedding dress. While taking our wedding pictures a wave came and soaked the bottom of my dress. Once back in our hotel room, Robin helped me rinse all the sand from my dress and then started to blow dry to bottom of my dress. AND she sent her assistant to a local store to get eyelash glue as one of my fake eyelashes was coming off and my makeup artist didn't leave me with glue. I can't begin to express my thanks to Robin and her team for all their help. She was a life saver on our big. I can't imagine doing everything needed to be done for a wedding without her help. After finding the perfect venue for our wedding at Seven4One in Laguna Beach, Ca., I was relieved to meet and acquire Robin as our wedding planner and coordinator. Destination weddings can often be difficult to pull off, but with Robin's help it seemed so easy. First off, when meeting with Robin she really took the time to get to know me and asked direct questions to help come up with the perfect wedding design for our reception and ceremony. To get the ball rolling, I loved that Robin wanted to see my Pinterest boards that I had been working on. As a bride to be, Pinterest boards can easily get out of hand. Robin helped me pull out the most important elements that I wanted and also helped me narrow down my designs so that my visions really came together. Once the design was set, Robin was so helpful in setting appointments with vendors, going over contracts, and even sending me linen options via email. This was helpful, because I didn't always have the time to commute and see things in person, but I was still able to pick what I wanted and Robin finished up the rest. I loved that Robin was available for questions and very easy to talk to whenever I has any tough choices to make or if I wanted her to attend vendor meetings with me. I also loved that she went with me to finalize our linen and rental orders. She worked with our venue location a lot and that was very helpful in determining what would look best for the space. Robin made sure all the little details were taken care of and she can make anything happen. I love that she thinks outside the box and can really come up with some amazing ideas and designs. The surprise confetti cannon truly made my night...FUN! With her expertise, passion for her work, ease of communication, and professionalism Robin really made my visions a reality. On our wedding day she was amazing with making sure everything pulled together and even took the time to come and check in with me several times to see how I was doing and checked to see if I needed anything from her. Thanks to Robin our wedding day was seamless and perfect. Our guests still comment about our wedding design and how much fun our wedding was. Seven4one is a unique venue and you're able to customize everything from the menu to drinks to all the rental furniture which is one of the reasons we loved the venue but can also be overwhelming.
