Ordered flowers online for delivery for a birthday. The day of delivery, Zeidler's called me to say…read morethe address did not exist. I said I have had them deliver to this particular address many times. Turns out, they had some digits crossed. No big deal. The delivery person was in the subdivision and would make the delivery. Fine....Until it wasn't. I had put in the "instructions" section to leave the flowers on the front porch by the bench. I left work and went to the house to retrieve the flowers, and they were surprisingly not there. When I called Zeidler's and asked where they were, they said they could not not deliver the flowers because no one was home! I knew the recipient would not be home when I ordered them. That's why I left the instructions for them to be left on the porch by the bench! They lady on the phone, "R", said they did not leave the flowers because it's too hot outside. Are you kidding me? Not Zeidler's decision to make! Pretty sure if I have to pay the price they want for the flowers, then I get to make the decisions, here. I asked why was I given the option to leave delivery instructions, if Zeidler's won't follow them? Furthermore, why didn't they call me THEN if they knew they were not going to deliver them? They called me about the address. Why not call me when they decided definitively NOT to deliver my order at all??? Instead I had to call Zeidler's to find out they were not delivering my order. What was the plan, then? Where were these flowers going? Ridiculous. I told them to give me my money back if they are not going to deliver them! They said they would. They better. Additionally, they called the would-be recipient about the flowers NOT being delivered. I can't believe I have to explain this, but seriously, you should not require the recipient's phone number to call THEM when there is a delivery issue! The flowers were a surprise for a birthday. Instead, what you surprised the recipient with is the fact that they are NOT having flowers delivered to them on their birthday! So, Happy Birthday!!! How stupid. I have used Zeidlers many times before, but never will again. What a ridiculous mess.

In addition to the fact that they were professional, friendly, and easy to work with, the sandwiches and potato salad were absolutely divine. (I grew up eating my mother's potato salad, and I always thought it was fantastic, but Rennie's was out-of-this-world good. Sorry, Mom.) Even though I live in Indianapolis, I will contact Just Rennie's for all future business lunches/dinners that I need to have catered in Evansville and southwestern Indiana. I've had their catered food on a couple of occasions and everything....I mean EVERYTHING I've tried from them has been fresh, flavorful, and fantastic! Their cookies are locally famous and to die for. You can even order them online to ship directly to you! They are not exactly cheap, but trust me - you will not care when you try them. Best cookies ever - and this coming from a non-sweet tooth kind of girl. They also now have a lunch counter downtown which is amazing, although kind of pricey. Totally worth it though. I used to stop here to pick up lunch when I felt like treating myself. Potato salad is great, as is everything else. Yum yum yum! Try Rennie's and I promise you won't regret it. Seriously. At least GET THE COOKIES!

Thrall's actually is under the umbrella of the Indiana State Museum, and it's considered a state historic site. Thrall's Opera House was originally built by the Harmonists and used as a communal dormitory. In the mid-19th century, it was converted to a Victorian theatre. Originally built by the Harmonists as a communal dormitory, the building was converted to a Victorian theatre in the mid-19th century. These days, it's a historic site that is often used for weddings, receptions, reunions, concerts, meetings, and conferences. It has dressings rooms that can be used for a wedding party or as an event green room. Thrall's is somewhat modestly sized with a capacity of 160 people. It's located near the Wabash River. There's a lot of neighborhood parking in New Harmony. You can rent Thrall's for $80 an hour before 5pm (minimum 3 hours). After 5pm, it goes up to $100/hour. Fun fact: At one point, Thrall's was used as an auto service garage. It was in the 1960s that it returned to its entertainment/event roots. Getting into the venue is fairly accessible, though there's quite a few places within the facility that aren't really accessible. I did not see a way to get on the stage. It would easily be possible to attend an event here, though my visit was brief and I'm unsure if there's a way to the second floor area. Obviously, this is a historic building and this limits adaptations. As is true for much of New Harmony, Thrall's Opera House has a simple elegance that I really adore.
