Let me start by saying I didn't hire these guys. They knocked on my door in the middle of the day while my wife and I were in work meetings and disrupted our work. Then they pushed me to accept a free estimate for taking down a tree. The estimate was provided a week later and they pushed me to schedule the work ASAP. Luckily I had the sense to get three other quotes. Turns out all the others (5 stars with 50+ reviews on yelp) quoted close to one-third of these guys! I had a horrible experience with these people 12 years ago and I still shudder every time I think about them. Rob (the arborist) guaranteed me he would be here to monitor the 1800.00 trimming job. Even that very morning I talked with him and he agreed(NO SHOW). Not only did they butcher my trees , but they did not follow the payment instructions and cost me overdraft fees. 5 stars aren't enough for Mike Harland and crew. We needed several trees removed along a fence line due to a mistake from our architect. We have lovely neighbors, but they are very nervous about change. When we explained the situation to Mike and crew, they were understanding, helpful and followed through. Our neighbor stood outside and watched the entire process, very concerned about each step. Not only was he satisfied with the quality of work along our shared fence line, he HIRED THE CREW to do work for him in the future. Truly exceptional job. We highly recommend. We've hired several arborists over the years and this is by far the best experience we've had. read more

These guys knocked on our door when it was pitch black out, an hour and a half after sunset, on the Sunday before Christmas. Despite telling the salesman three times I wasn't interested, and that we had an independent arborist unaffiliated with a trimming company look at our trees three months ago, they persisted. I am glad I was home as my wife didn't feel safe answering the door this late at night. IMO this was irresponsible and demonstrated that they put sales above their clients' safety. Frankly it should be illegal to solicit this long after sunset. Kathy Lambert's office might be interested in such legislation after she passed the "No Soliciting" ordinance for unincorporated areas back in 2011. I would avoid these large tree trimming companies short of cleanup after a major storm when you have no other choice. Great service, they did a fantastic job all around. I was willing to pay a decent amount for a really good service, and Ever-Green did not disappoint. They are reasonably priced for the work, and Mike Trillo worked closely with me to make sure he marked every tree and shrub that needed trimming with pink tape. We've experienced such frustrating interactions with Ever-Green...they don't seem to respect neighbors at all as they regularly walk through our neighborhood looking for work. They are very pushy and seem to feel free to use deception, fear and criticism of other companies in order to get jobs. They also regularly knock and ring our bell in spite of a posted no soliciting sign. This is enough for us to never try them... read more

A few months ago, they did a job for one of our neighbors. They dropped the crown piece of the tree on our property and destroyed the rose tree. Luckily neither our dog or any person was hurt by the incident. They promised us to replace the rose tree, but we're still waiting after months. Not sure if we need to take legal action but this is just not ok. read more

Never hire this company to prune your trees, especially the ones you have spent many years on shaping & taking very good care of. They do not pay any attention to what you, the property owner, the payer of he bill, wants, but do as they wish with your property. Mike Trillo came out to our property at North Bend to look over our trees and to provide a quote onsite. He was very thorough in his assessment, and never pushy. We ended up accepting about half of what he recommended at a price we are happy with. The crew came out just a few days later and did a fabulous job, even going above and beyond what was quoted by offering to mulch some of the green waste that we had laying around from some pruning I had done myself a few days ago. Unprofessional, expensive, high pressure and unresponsive to concerns: Ever-green Tree care was soliciting business in our neighborhood. We had a large tree we were concerned about so we gave them a chance. The salesman, Don, showed up and proceeded to use scare tactics and other high pressure techniques to get me to commit to doing business. He literally said to me "the price goes up $100 as soon as I drive away." But that's not the worst of it. He was in my backyard and began telling me all about his personal issues with his ex. With all due respect to them, I will not repeat what he said. After he left, I wrote an email to the company expressing my concerns and asking them to send a different consultant out- no response. 2 years later- my wife unknowingly invited them out again. Same person. Walks into our backyard and says "that's a big f!@cking tree" (no kidding- it's not like we would invite someone out to trim a small tree. I told him that I found him unprofessional and would appreciate him not talking like that and he was offended saying "fine, we will only talk about the tree then." (novel idea, it seems.) He tried again to push me into committing. He again tried to scare me even though the tree "looked healthy." He tried to impress me. He was still pushy and a jerk. Needless to say- instead of writing another email that is likely to be ignored, I am posting here so others can find a better service. Good luck. read more

Really impressive work from this business! We got a cold call and accepted the offer of having a certified arborist come out to take a look at our trees. Chris the arborist was available the next day and spent a long time with us, talking about our trees and helping us prioritize the work that needed to get done now (he was very conscientious about cost, which I really appreciated). He even came with us to talk to our neighbors in case they had any questions (since there were branches hanging over the fence that might impact them on work day). We then got a follow-up call from the scheduler within 48 hours and were really impressed by how quickly they got us on their calendar. The day the work was scheduled, the crew arrived right on time. They did a great job and left our yard perfectly clean (they actually left our yard cleaner than they found it -- thanks, guys!). Everybody was really friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. I used them to trim our Mature Dogwood tree. I do not have a problem with the quality of their work but based on they were in and out in less than 30 minutes I feel the price of $475 was excessive. I will look elsewhere for tree trimming work in the future. read more

They have been taking care of my parents yard for years. My parents both passed away this year. Their yard was very overgrown and had shrubs that needed to be removed and some that needed a good trim. Josh's crew did a wonderful job in getting the yard in order. I can't say enough about the awesome experience we had with Evergreen Tree Care. Christopher walked our property with me and educated me on the trees we have. I learned so much! The crew came out yesterday - right on time. Lead by Juan, they removed 2 trees and trimmed up 8 others. They left the rounds for us to use as firewood but took everything else away and blew the driveway clean before leaving. It looks better than before they arrived. This company is much too aggressive with their solicitation practices, uses scare tactics to generate work, and performs unnecessary work which is overpriced. After the wind-storm of 2009 I saw flyers on my doorstep from Evergreen showing homes damaged by fallen trees. I was frightened by the prospect of one of my Douglas Firs falling on my house as I have many of them. Not long after this, one of their representatives came to my door soliciting and explained the theory of 'windsail reduction', which selectively removes branches, and this supposedly lowers the chance of the tree falling in a windstorm. He also warned me that Douglas Firs are especially susceptible to falling in wind, and used further scare tactics on my personal situation to convince me further. I hired Evergreen to do a windsail reduction on 4 of my trees. The work was done efficiently and I don't have any issues with how the work was done, but it cost me several thousand dollars, and looking at what limbs were removed, this price seemed much too high for what was done. Since this job was done, I have talked to other tree experts who tell me that 'windsail reduction' is actually a bad practice for conifers. I'm not a tree expert but I tend to believe what I'm hearing (it is a bad idea). I don't know if Evergreen is still actively pushing people for windsail reductions but if you are having this experience with them, you should be wary and do some research before you have this type of work done. I have since moved to a nearby neighborhood and I continue to get periodic solicitation visits from Evergreen, even though I clearly have a 'no solicitors' sign posted on my driveway. I politely tell the solicitors that I have another tree service and don't need any work done, but I am really getting tired of the unwanted solicitation. read more

Horrible follow up service. Tried to schedule trimming service several times with their Arborist who kept "forgetting". The Arborist wrote he'd give me a discount on my services but he never responded to my calls or emails and finally moved. We came down from Alaska to take care of a couple of things around our home we booked their services weeks ago and we get a call 10 minutes after the appointment saying there wasn't adequate parking we had used garbage cans to cordon off parking and also had neighbors ready to move they didn't even come in the house just called and said sorry. Some guy shows up walking down our driveway un-invited, and is begging for tree work. Shirt says Evergreen Tree Service. I sent him on his way. I would never do business with someone not invited to my property. Then I find out my wife saw him try to kick our dog. Yeah, she is on own our property and we WANT her to bark. This area is rural. We moved here for privacy and safety. Evergreen should think about their business practices. Unprofessional to say the least! An Evergreen representative (Chris) came to our door unsolicited at night and offered to look at my trees. I told him that we were already working with another arborist that we use regularly. He didn't accept this answer, and instead emphasized repeatedly that Evergreen did work for our property 6 years ago, and then started reading names off a clipboard of people on our street who supposedly were very happy with Evergreen's services. I politely said that I'd think about it, but he ignored the hint and persisted in pressuring me. When my wife walked by he tried to ask her the name of the other company that we work with. Afterwards my wife said that Evergreen has come to our house other times when she was home alone, and she felt uncomfortable with their high pressure sales technique. We generally do not make decisions based on door-to-door sales pitches. I suppose we should have a gaudy "NO SOLICITING" sign, but really Evergreen is the only company that we have this problem with, Based on this bad experience I would not want to hire Evergreen Tree Care. read more

While pruning western hemlocks climbers were wearing spurs. The office staff said it was for the climbers safety. This is not industry best practice and can cause severe damage to the trees. The holes caused by spurs can be a vector for fungus and bacteria to enter the tree. ISA certified arborists would know better. read more

We were very pleased with the service of Evergreen Tree Care. We have two large cedars that are very close to our house. They sent arborist Christopher Assaf to come out and take a look at our trees and give us recommendations regarding the safe trimming of these trees. They had a very good crew of three with the lead being Mark Cooper and two very knowledgeable crew members who came out and did the work. The trees look very nice. I would recommend them if you need help with safely trimming a large tree. read more

If I had my choice, I wouldn't even give the one star. I don't think any of the men who came out know anything about trees except to hack them down. They were completely unaware of crossed branches (the first thing to know about pruning) and they left shaped trees very crooked looking until I pointed out where to trim more to even them out. There are some bushes used as a screen to the neighbors' deck which ended up being sliced straight across even with that deck leaving no barrier except for legs from the knee down. They took off one whole side of one of the bushes, leaving it branchless and leaning and never even tried to do any pruning, just the hacking of the tops. I was pleased with the efficient service I received, removal of more than a dozen shrubs. Cleanup was quick, and just one piece of debris was overlooked in a place out of sight (that is, easily missed). I would call on Ever-Green Tree Care again with no qualms. This was the second time I have used their tree services. The first time was when I had all the trees inspected, two pruned to remove the lowest-hanging branches, and one tree braced so it wouldn't fall toward my house in case of a storm. read more

Ever-Green will NOT get this one star If there is a ZERO STAR option. I rarely spent time to write review, but I am doing it this time because Ever Green Tree Care is truly a company you DON'T WANT to do business with. They door knocked to ask for business. The arborist, Gregg Levin came to look at the tree on 09/15/2020 and suggested to do the trunk injection asap because the injection only works when the tree is still growing probably until the end of November. 2 days later, I phoned and left message that I agreed to do the injection treatment. No response back for couple of days. I phoned again to Gregg's cell, and also called evergreen directly and got transferred to appointment team's voicemail. NO one response back to me. After about 8 days, Gregg finally set up job order for injection on 10/01/2020 (2 weeks passed). Injection guy came to appointment found out the pine tree wasn't pruned as a preparation for injection. The injection guy explained to me pruning is necessary because it will prevent the bugs to come back after injection treatment. He said the arborist should have suggested pruning with the injection job. With disappointment, I started to phone Gregg and again he NEVER pick up phone calls. Phoned Evergreen customer service, they transferred me to Christine, the appointment team, and again ALWAYS voicemail, the appointment team NEVER pick up phone calls. Ever since I decided to do business with Evergreen tree care, I am the one who follow up with them and beg for appointment time. They don't pick up phone call, no call back after I left messages until I left an emotional message and told them I want to cancel the contract. The very last phone call Gregg called, he raised his voice and said I was threatened him because I told him I will write this story online and he refused to provide further service. If this company knocks on your door, bolt the door and don't answer! They came to my door last fall, I put them off until Spring, and now I wish I had permanently declined. I had a beautiful, decades old rhodie in my yard that will never be a rhodie again. Where once I had a very large, lovely plant, I now have sticks. A true arborist I trust was aghast when she saw it and said "that is a dead plant." If I had known that was their intent to leave a lovely, living rhodie as a bunch of sticks poking out of the ground, I would never have agreed to let them touch it. Where I used to love walking around my yard with its many lovely, old trees and shrubs, now I am heartbroken when I go anywhere near that part of the yard. Turn them away!!! read more

Update: I've changed my review rating from 1 to 4 stars based on the excellent customer service from Dustin and experience with the Regional Director Brian I was completely expecting to contact customer service the following Monday. Before I could, customer service contacted me after reading my very unhappy review, (which I wasn't expecting) to ask about having the Regional Director out to talk and take a look. He was out same day and within 24 hours I was scheduled within the week. Now that we are aware that we should only go through costumer service, we will do that in the future, but I have left my original review up, due to the fact that my experience was unprofessional in my opinion. Original Review: We were ambivalent the first time we had Mike come out to our house with his pushy sales, but thought it would be beneficial to have a couple of trees cabled and a couple cut. Then one of the cables broke. Fortunately (so I thought) someone came out again to ask is about more tree cutting. So I showed him the trees that the cables broke on. He sent Mike out next day because he was in the area. Shortly after he arrived it was, look at this and that and we have 3 climbers, so it costs 3k. We weren't even looking at getting more trees done, just for help with the broken cable. Once he was told that we can't afford the cost right now on the trees, and that the cable is all we need some at the moment. He doesn't even help us get someone to come and fix it, and states that it's a "customer service issue". Needless to say I'm NEVER using them again, and am very disappointed with the service we didn't receive. Calling customer service is what we will do, because it's part of what we paid for initially, but I'm sorely disappointed. read more

They were just here doing work for a neighbor. When I noticed guys in orange T-shirt's in my driveway I went out to see what was up. They were parking their large truck and chipper on my property. Would move it down to address where they were working in a couple of hours. Wound up chipping on my property and parking personal trucks on my drainfield. When confronted I was told well the "scope" of work changed. Not at all happy with this company!! read more

I would give them zero, if I could. They are dishonest. They came by our place offering a free consultation. We had a couple of trees we were worried about, so we took them up on it. The man that showed up looked briefly at the trees, said one was dead and the other was dying and needed to be taken out immediately because the trunk was rotting. I wanted a second opinion, so I called in an independent arborist. The arborist did a thorough examination and told me that the tree that Evergreen had called dead was stressed, but could pull through (and even if it did die, was a very low risk for falling), and that the one he said was rotten actually isn't, and will probably be fine. The arborist also mentioned that this happens all the time with Evergreen--they get called out because Evergreen has told people a bunch of trees need taking out, and they find that they don't need to be. In other words, Evergreen is scamming people--scaring them into thinking they need trees taken out that actually don't need to be removed. Steer clear. They just want to rip people off. read more
