We have heard some great things about Everbowl, so we decided to check them out. This College location does not have much street parking. However, there is a public parking structure right across the street, which is where we ended up. You do have to pay for parking, but some of the nearby businesses offer validation. The sign says that Everbowl will be validating soon. But, when we went in, they still were not able to validate. We didn't deal with the staff much, but they seemed nice enough. The inside of Everbowl was very nice and clean. When you order, you can completely create your own bowl or choose from one of their preset bowls. They also offer other items such as smoothies, overnight oats, salads, and some beverages on tap. We both ended up ordering bowls from the local favorites (preset) list. We ordered the Everbowl (substituted the grapes with kiwi) and the Hawaiian. The bowls were made fairly quickly. We both thought that the bowls were just OK. The granola was good and the fruit was fresh. We had forgotten to add almond butter, but didn't want to go back up to ask for it to be added. Anyhow, something about our bowls just wasn't as good as other places we have been to. And, we started to grow tired of eating our bowls. We wanted to validate our parking, so we ended up going to the store across the way. We bought ourselves some almond butter and added it to our bowls. It made the bowls a little better, but neither one of us could finish. Overall, our bowls from this place were OK, but definitely not rated high on our list. Maybe the hype got to us, so we were expecting so much more? We may be back to try other items from their menu. read more

Besides Captain Kirk's in Golden Hill, Everbowl makes my favorite acai bowl in San Diego. It certainly doesn't hurt either that Everbowl is growing fast and popping up just about everywhere making it easy to find the bowl that I enjoy so much just about anywhere in town. Acai bowls can get expensive anywhere that you order one, which I don't necessarily mind when the bowl is worth it. Most of the times it is not at the other places but the bowls from Everbowl are worth every penny for one one reason above all else - unlimited toppings. I go big, not to take advantage, but because there isn't a fruit that I don't like. Seriously, "put it all on there" and I'm a really happy camper when I start digging through the tasty layers. I went in for a snack between classes today, and noticed a sign highlighting their "whatever bowl." i was planning on splitting this with my girlfriend, and boy do I regret that. First off, the bowl is SIXTEEN dollars??? Pretty absurd for a bowl of fruit and sorbet, but it was happy hour and I was already in there so I ordered it anyway. While ordering, I kindly asked the woman making my bowl if they still offered the blended bases, and she simply said no. I realize that's not her fault, but how is Everbowl as a company going to advertise themselves as a place promoting a healthy lifestyle when they literally only offer sorbet, which not to mention, is absolutely disgusting and made me feel terrible afterwards. Now for the checkout... Upon walking up to the register, we were rang up for the bowl at $16. I asked about the huge happy hour sign several feet to my right, wondering why the bowl wasn't being discounted a whopping $2, and I was rudely informed by the cashier, "Oh the happy hour? You have to tell me that." She seemed incredibly offended at my inquiry, and was just overall pretty cold. UPDATE: I received a very accommodating message from the owner of this location that was much appreciated explaining the reasons behind this menu switch... However, I was recently informed that there are leftover acai packets at this location you can request to have blended, so I decided to try to ask for a blended bowl, and the girl taking my order rolled her eyes before charging me for the blended bowl. To top it off, as I was asking for my fruit toppings, one of the workers made a comment saying something along the lines of "god I can't wait until the packets run out" and the same girl from earlier replied and said, "honestly what if we just threw out the rest of them" right in front of my face. I understand that it is more of a hassle to blend a bowl then to scoop one, but after that comment I felt embarrassed to even be there, and I am shocked that they would make a comment like that in front of a customer. I've had Everbowl before and i'm just disappointed. The girls working came off really sweet but I could NOT believe they had the courage to send this bowl out. I found HUGE chunks of açaí in my base, not to mention that they mixed up my boyfriend's bowl with mine. He ordered a açaí chewy bowl with chocolate almond milk and I ordered an açaí bowl made with coconut milk. Both were not blended through and I could not get through more than 5 bites.
