It pains me to write this review because I've been a loyal Everest customer for a long time now. I keep retrying them, hoping to recapture what it was that I used to like about this place, but after so many failed attempts I've come to a sad conclusion: this place is no longer any good. Some of it's the food. It is wildly variable in quality. Some nights it's absolutely delicious and rich, but lately no matter how spicy I order my food it comes to me as though no seasoning was added at all. What have you done to your curry that it is somehow *boring*? Or the Tikka Masala my wife ordered that seemingly had no tomatoes added to it and was a bright shade of yellow; I'm convinced that it was a very bland korma. But the service also leaves a lot to be desired. Dinner with four adults and a toddler a few months ago ended with 2 of the adults getting their food while the other two adults waited 20 minutes to get theirs -- all while trying to keep an impatient toddler from losing it. Today, the food I called in at 1:20 and was told would be ready in a half hour still wasn't ready at 2:15. No apology, no partial refund. Just wait another 15 minutes. I'm done with this place. Everest has been our go-to for Indian food for a few years now and we love the food. We still love the food but our most recent visit last week was not as pleasant as it's been in the past. We've noticed the last few visits that the service was a little slow. Everyone is always pleasant and helpful, but the wait time between getting seated and having our order taken kept getting longer. This last visit there were four tables of diners and 3 members of the wait staff. It took 15 minutes from the time we were seated until someone came over to just take our drink order. It took several minutes for the drinks(just soda) to even arrive. We had to make sure to place our order once the waitress brought our drinks so we didn't have to wait even longer. The food was its same excellent quality, unfortunately the staff disappeared. At one point both our drinks were empty and no one was checking in with us. One of us had to get up, and walk over to the counter where all 3 staff members were standing, and ask them to bring us some more drinks and napkins. The staff continued to be inattentive the rest of the meal, and there were still only 4 tables taken up. This experience has made us rethink going back. It's a shame because we enjoy the food, but the staff needs to do better taking care of the patrons. read more

We ordered through UberEats because I had a craving for momos! We ordered two kinds but only received one of them and accidentally got a chili chicken which ended up being delicious! I have mixed feelings on this place. Food is good, but service has been bad each time I've gone. During the pandemic I dined solo and one of the staff was spraying a table close to where I was eating. They looked strangely at me and asked if I was ok and I said "you're spraying cleaning solution while I'm trying to eat!". I brought a large group another time and the service was very slow. We returned last night as a party of five. It took a long time to get checks, then she kept forgetting something and came back a couple times. And I asked to switch a box to a better container to hold liquid and she kept forgetting. We had to be somewhere at 7, so I finally just used what she gave me. She then showed up with the right container and I told her we had to leave so I just used what they gave us. Consider sticking with takeout. read more

Went to Everest last week for restaurant week with some friends and we could not have been more impressed. They have a huge menu with many wonderful options but through restaurant week we tried their samosas, lamb korma, palak paneer, garlic naan and gulab jamun. The lamb korma was so tender and the flavor of the curry was phenomenal. The garlic naan was so fluffy and came in a great service size. The service was spectacular. Our waitress was so kind and provided great recommendations. We also got our food very fast so 12/10 experience. Good size restaurant and very cozy and comforting atmosphere. I've been here four times in the last two months with friends and once solo...and I love this place! The food here is amazing! My go-to dish are the Chicken Momo's. They're tasty dumplings with a cashew nut dipping sauce. Great flavor and great chew, that's out of this world. I've also had their Murgh Makhani, which is a dish of tender chicken in a savory tomato sauce, served over rice. Pair that with some Naan, it's a great meal. I've also enjoyed their popular Indo-Chinese dish, Chicken Chow Mein which is good, not great... kind of like Lo Mein at Panda Express. They serve Indian beers and reasonably priced cocktails, as well. Service is typically Indian and the decor is alright but the food...excellent. 4 1/2 stars! read more

Such great Nepali cuisine! We wanted to try something new and it didn't disappoint. Food was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. Our server was young, but very friendly. It was getting busy so the wait staff were all working hard. Only 2 things to note: don't be in a rush if you come here to eat. The food takes a good while to be prepared and served (but it's SO worth the wait!) The other note is the restaurant itself could use a bit of sprucing up and cleaning. We've been wanting to try this Nepali-Indian fusion restaurant for a while and I am so glad we finally did. The restaurant is authenic, adorable and WOW my mouth is exploding with flavor! We ordered one Indian dish (paneer tikka masala), one Tibetan dish (veggie momo in soup) and shared the Kathmandu appetizer platter which was our absolute favorite. We ordered everything "medium" but I would say the dishes ranged from hot to very hot. Maybe order mild if you're spice averse? I was fine with everything but man was my mouth set on fire! Our favorite thing by far was the Bhatamas Sadheko, described on the menu as beaten rice and roasted soybeans marinated with garlic, ginger, onions, lemons, chili, and cilantro. I ordered two medium chicken curries along with a few baskets of naan. The naan was excellent--fresh, flavorful, and easily the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the curries were a major disappointment. They lacked both spice and overall flavor, which is surprising given that I've had good experiences here in the past. I came here for a quick bite and I ended up filling in love with this restaurant, the location is great just right at Downtown Worthington and the food is incredible, they could do a better service but the whole experience was great. I was recently at lunch at Everest in the heart of Worthington. The area is surrounded by small shops and local restaurants. This place has been around for a long time and specializes in Tibetan and Indian cuisine. There is a parking lot right outside the restaurant, although it probably gets pretty full quickly during the evenings and weekends. It shares the space with some other local businesses. We went during a weekday afternoon, so it wasn't very busy at all. It had a cultural charm to it, but I did notice it's date. Again, it's been around for a while. The hostess was also our waitress and seemed very friendly. The menu is very large And there's a lot of different options to choose. I decided on the thukpa, which is a noodle dish. My friends chose a China masala and also an eggplant dish. I don't think I got a chance to get a picture of the eggplant. The food came out at a reasonable time and my friends were very happy with their meals. However, mine seemed extremely salty, so unfortunately, I have to send it back. They were however very nice about it and offered me a substitute. I don't think it was the best dining experience this time, so I will need to go back at a different date.. read more

Excellent Indian/Nepalese/Tibetan restaurant. The wife and I found this spot while walking through picturesque Old Worthington. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The menu is expansive, covering a variety of options from the three regions. My Indian food experience is limited so I went with the standard chicken tikka masala, medium heat. Served in a authentic bowl with a side of rice. I'm not very good with heat but the medium was just right. Enough to know it's there without overpowering the meal. We also ordered the garlic naan bread which was great, very flavorful, light and chewy. The final piece of the meal was the chicken momo, a very generous portion served with a very tasty sauce. Look no further if you are looking for amazingly tasty food and good service. A spacious restaurant with tables and booths with beer and wine options. The parking lot is shared and can get tricky in the evenings. Street parking is available too. The staff at the restaurant were awesome and gave the perfect recommendations. The spice levels of 1 to 5 is legit. Don't go for a 4 or 5 unless you can handle it :) I thoroughly enjoyed the food. It was authentic, packed with the perfect flavors and spice levels. I ordered Nepali specialties and truly enjoyed my experience here. The chicken jhol momos were excellent - the sauce was addictive. The Nepali lamb curry had the signature coconut oil flavor, which was the favorite part of the meal. I had to indulge in dessert only because it was freshly made. The Ras Malai was a perfect ending to a perfect meal. Pricing : Moderate high and totally worth the spend. I ordered the chicken, they were freshly made, the wrapper was perfectly thin, and the chicken filling was flavorful and juicy. Loved the momo chutney. The everest Platter had assorted pakodas and samosa, and it was amazing, too. My favorite was chicken pakoda in the platter. I tried their chicken thupka an authentic cuisine, which has noodles and soup. I did not enjoy the thupka as much as it was loaded with too many veggies. There was an overwhelming amount of cabbage and peas in the thupka soup. It's definitely a good place to eat. I would love to dine in next time to enjoy their amazing momos. read more

A foodie group I belong to went to Everest, about 16-20 of us. I'd never been there and brought one of my daughters with me. We were greeted on entering and shown where the group was. The friendly wait staff took our orders. My daughter and I ordered Samoas Chaat. OMG. It was so delicious, The samoas are sliced on the diagonal and are soft topped with mint, tamarind , yogurt, raita and cilantro. The couple across from us ordered it also but didn't like the cilantro so we got to take it home with us. They also ordered 2 ONION BHAJI PAKORA which are shredded onions in a chickpea batter.They shared with everyone- so delicious. For my entree I got goat curry and my daughter got chicken tikka masala. I got mine with no spice her dish had spice level 3. I had a small taste of hers. I might try level 2 spice next time. My goat came with some bones which I expected but the meat was not well trimmed- there were large pieces of gristle and tendons. The sauce was really good. We ordered garlic naan which was so great-the best I've ever had. At least 6-8 in our group got the mixed grill. It looked wonderful and they all loved the taste but there was so much food on the board that they all took 2/3 of it home. The Tibetan and Indian cuisines are both well done. I will definitely be back often. I should mention that parking can be difficult. It is in the small strip with Graeters on High St. the lot is tiny but there is more parking in the back. read more

This is a wonderful place for Indian, Nepalese, and Tibetan cuisine. My friend and I came on a Friday afternoon for lunch. Since it was our first visit, we decided to order a variety and split them. We got the Everest Platter, Aloo Matar, Garlic Naan, and Mango Kulfi. All was delicious. We will definitely be back to try more dishes. Now let's talk about parking: the restaurant shares parking with several businesses (ice cream shop, bicycle/coffee bar, nail salon, etc.) All of these businesses had a lot of activity. The parking lot was full and we were fortunate to get a spot. This makes me nervous for future visits because on this visit the parking lot was full but the restaurant wasn't. Can you imagine what a problem parking will be on a busy day? Even on a good day (like today) my friend had to guide me as I pulled out of the spot. Whew! I made it without incident. read more

It feels kinda of like a hole in the wall restaurant. When you want momo, people always talk about Momo Ghar. They also serve Tibetan, Nepali, and Indian food here. Hadn't really heard of this place before but was looking for more Indian food options and this one popped up. We had to get the momo to compare, chicken tikka, and garlic naan. We both ordered beers as well. Really delicious, flavorful, and filling! Prices weren't bad at all. The momo was probably much more well-seasoned than momo ghar. No hate on them! I really like Momo Ghar, but the sauce here was less watery. Overall, great experience! It wasn't overly busy for a Wednesday night, but there was definitely a number of folks coming to dine in or pick up carry out. The parking here is interesting. There's a parking lot at the back, but it doesn't have tons of spots. You can also do parallel, but not too many of those. I parked in front, but my friend later told me that you couldn't do that? Don't know, but none of the staff told me anything even though they told her to move her car. I'd say, use your best judgement! read more

Traditional Tibetan cuisine, alongside Indian, & Asian Fusian make this restaurant a taste treat! The interior is tastefully decorated to give a feel for the region. It is clean and the tables are spacious, but the fresh aromas of the food are what greet you at the door, as the kitchen is in the front of the house. There is a pick-up counter for take out service. Lots of selections on the menu so you're sure to be able to find something you like if you gravitate toward the food cultures I mentioned at the beginning of this review. I opted for the Samosa Chaat, Cmomo for an entree, with a side of plain Naan. Photos posted. The staff asked how I prefer my spice and I specified medium, so as not too hot that the heat overpowers the flavor and it was just right for me. It's nice that they ask in the event a diner wants mild, extra spicy, etc. Seating and service on a Friday early evening was prompt, yet the restaurant was full of customers. Sound level is moderate to quiet, which allows for pleasant table conversation. Lighting is ample but not so bright as to be an annoyance if your eyes are sensitive. I like this place, the food and the atmosphere. One of our favorite places was Tadka which, sadly due to the pandemic, closed up. I think this could be a potential replacement, which, despite losing Tadka, makes me quite happy! read more

My husband and I went here this evening and had an unremarkable experience. We ordered the Veg Samosa, Aloo Gobi & Chana Masala. The food was pretty good, not the best or the worst that I've had, a solid 3 for sure. The service was pretty slow considering the place was pretty empty and seemed well staffed. Also, this isn't a spot to go if you have an infant that can't use a high chair. The smaller booths couldn't fit the car seat so we ended up at a table meant for a much larger party. The one thing that unfortunately I noticed was the cleanliness of the place. The floors were sticky and everything looked kind of dingy and dirty. Literally obsessed with this place!!! I've tried so many Indian restaurants in Columbus and nothing comes close to Everest. Their vegetable korma is to die for and one of my favorite meals to eat. They also have the most delicious garlic naan that is perfect for dipping in all the sauces. My friend usually gets the chicken tikka masala which is also amazing! The inside could definitely use some work and usually seems pretty dark, but it is still worth the visit! The staff is also always kind and so helpful! read more

First time here following the great reviews from Yelp friends. I wish this could be a 3 1/2 star review, and maybe after another visit it'll be 4 stars. However, there were some issues with tonight's visit. The food was excellent although you should know that although I asked for my dish to be mild it was quite spicy. That's not nice. We ordered samosas for appetizer and they were excellent. Very crispy and flavorful. For dinner we ordered Chicken Momo (quite spicy, although we asked for mild). We also ordered the Chicken Tandoori, a generous portion. Our waitress couldn't have communicated her complete lack of interest in us being there more obviously had she tried. We had to ask what came with either dish, or if we could have any other drink other than water. We ordered garlic nan and she brought my wife some papadums. Although their online menu shows 2 salads and the printed menu had one listed, they don't have any salads. Keep that in mind. Anyway, good food, mediocre service. This place is a total jewel in the Worthington area! The food, the service, the overall hospitality is amazing! Everest Cuisine has the Nepali and Indian food on lockdown because me and my friends had a wonderful time. We came here for dinner and the server got us a seat right away! We got water for the table as we looked at their extensive menu (and we mean extensive) so we got some appetizers to start! We got the Chicken Pakora, Samosa Chaat and ordered the mango margaritas with it -- now these are different than traditional margaritas, the are alcohol with mango juice and ice, so not blended. Either way we where very happy with them.... they are no joke! Main dishes include Chicken Tikki Marsala, Chicken Tandoori and some much more. We smashed! We destroyed those dishes and will be back for more. We had a great time and our server Prava was awesome and attentive! 5 stars!!! read more

Starting with the people: the most courteous, warm and friendly people. Ready to make recommendations based on your interest, allergies etc. Always approached and served us with a warm friendly smile. The ambiance is nostalgic with large pictures of Mt Everest base camp and other areas nearby. Beautiful, roomy and along with the people, you feel transported to a different part of the world. The food... simple, tasty, we ordered a few dishes ... all vegetarian and all were finger licking good! I am a vegan and my daughter is a vegetarian, they accommodated for both. I ordered it spicy(4) level, and it was pleasantly hot for this used-to-be-able-to-eat-super-hot-but-am-out-of-practice dude. My wife's Chicken Biryani was very tasty, though a tad dry, and though she ordered a medium(3) heat, hers was hotter than mine. Which made it great for me, not so much for her. I wanted to try this place for a while, and finally checked it out! Each dish came with great portions and had so much flavor! You can choose your preferred spice level for most dishes as well. They have a big menu with a variety of options so it was so hard to choose! But we really enjoyed everything we ordered, and if I had to list a couple of my top favorites they were: Chow Mein, Lamb Biryani, Fried Momo (I liked the steamed one too, but fried version was more flavorful)!
