Hello Curry Street, I ordered for the first time through Ubereats. Items ordered (1) Hilsa Curry - you put a misleading photo on your website. The curry you sent me was not Hilsa Sorse curry (which is the photo on your site). You sent me regular fish curry with Hilsa in it. I was dissappointed BUT the taste of the curry was ok. Please rectify your photo, dont mislead your customers. (2) Baigan Bharta - was good, liked the taste. (3) Butter Naan - was ok, same as any other restaurant (4) Chicken Butter Curry - was good, tasted different but not bad. (5) Mango Chutney - Did not like the taste, sorry. YUM! Finally gave this place a try and so glad we did. We got takeout so although the vegetable pakora tasted good, it was a little soft and soggy but that makes sense since we ate it at home. We also ordered the chicken tikka which was unlike any chicken tikka I've had before but it was still super good. My husband orders butter chicken and I order butter paneer almost every time, and both are always excellent. The "eat-in" restaurant prices and their DoorDash prices are the same (at least according to the DoorDash app). This could be a five star review but the to-go packaging isn't great. Today the butter chicken spilled all over in the bag, which was a mess (still delicious though). The rice comes in a styrofoam box that latches closed so it isn't super secure. Cinnamon is yet another Indian restaurant in Columbus. It's located in the former Szechuan Cottage. The nicest thing to say about this is that it's an improvement. Food is good. The unfortunate thing is the food is overpriced. I had the vegetable jalfreezi. It's about $12 for the regular portion. This comes in several levels of spice. It's pretty good when it's hotter than medium, but don't add too much. The hotter it is, the more the flavor becomes overwhelmed. It's made of a nice variety of vegetables, so it's pretty basic to make. This only comes with a side of rice. It doesn't even get a piece of bread. That will cost you a few bucks extra. Atmosphere is bad. It seems made for carry out. Pick it up and take it with you. read more

I wanted to try a new local Indian spot in Columbus, as this is one of my favorite cuisines! My husband and I are advocates for supporting local business, especially during Covid-19. I have a lot of food allergies and called to ask if this restaurant uses cashews in their curry. A lot of local Indian restaurants do not. Before I could even say hello over the phone, an employee curtly said " what do you want, I am very busy." I was surprised at how rude this individual was over the phone, before I could even get a question in edgewise. I said, I am calling to ask about allergens, because I do not want to have an adverse allergic reaction/die when eating chicken saag. He said "yes" and abruptly hung up the phone. I stopped by Cinnamon Indian Grill late on a Friday night; they were empty, except for the proprietors eating dinner themselves, but they were quick to get up and take my order, and cook my food once I had ordered. Even by my relaxed standards, Cinnamon Indian Grill is pretty dingy. Old off-white vinyl tile flooring, off-white walls, fluorescent lights mounted on the walls (who does that? The previous occupant, presumably), old off-white acoustical tile ceiling. If wretched interior decoration affects your appetite, you should probably consider takeout. That being said, Cinnamon Indian Grill won me over with the free cup of kheer (rice pudding) they gave me while I waited for my food. It was sweet and warm on a cold fall night, and the toasted almonds in it gave it that extra something you don't often encounter in other Indian restaurants' kheer. I got the goat korma, bhindi masala (okra), baingan bharta (eggplant), and a green chili coriander naan to go; they were accompanied by a generous amount of basmati rice. The goat was a little gristly, and bone-in, which is what I prefer, but you may want to check if you prefer your animal protein sans bones. Everything was nicely cooked, and as good as any other Indian food I've had in Columbus. Possibly a little better, even. It should be noted that the proprietors of Cinnamon Indian Grill are Bangladeshi, for whatever that's worth. Either way, it's food worth eating. read more

I really, really miss being within walking distance to Aab India and we've been on the hunt for a good replacement since they don't offer delivery. Cinnamon Indian Grill is close to our new place, offers online ordering through Yelp/Grubhub and delivers, so we decided to give them a try. I placed my order through Yelp (so easy!) and was quoted a 50 min pick up time, which was fine but seemed long for a pickup order. When I arrived, it was ready to go and still warm so I assume the estimate was warranted but there were no other people in the restaurant so the wait definitely wasn't due to a crowded dining room. The food was good, but not my favorite. I think it's my own bias for preferring the dishes I used to get at Aab. The Chicken Tikka Masala was okay but less creamy that I usually like. The Chicken Curry had a good flavor but was pretty basic - if you like Chicken Curry, you kinda know what to expect. I will say the quality of the chicken was great. No "weird" pieces, if you know what I mean. The Meat Samosa looked like it was made with chicken instead of beef, which I'm not used to. They had great flavor though and the pastry was super crisp. I really enjoyed their green chutney, which was very thin but had a nice kick of lime. I was kind of bummed at the amount of Raita I received for $2, though. It had good flavor but was also very thin. The thing I was disappointed in was the naan. It seemed undercooked and a bit doughy still. It wasn't very fluffy either. We will probably still order from here on occasion since they're convenient to us and I saw they have a $9 lunch combo, which looks like a great deal. But, Cinnamon Grill won't become a permanent replacement for our favorite Indian restaurant. read more

I really love the food here. The range of dishes offers something for every palate. This would have been a 4-star review, but... When I went there pre-Covid, the slow service didn't bother me; I just ate there when time wasn't an issue. Since cloistering in response to the pandemic, I've been having food delivered. The samosa chat is delicious and makes a light meal. The Chicken Korma, Navratan Korma, and samosa are a delight and the prices reasonable. With orders placed online, be careful. Parts of the order are sometimes left out, and I've occasionally had entrées be totally wrong. i have had this probably about 20 times now and i will briefly mention the guy who runs it is definitely fickle when it comes to how much he cares to be polite. every encounter ive had with him ranges from rude to hilariously strange that being said none of that matters, cuz this food is insanely well made. curries are not just buttblasting you with ghee and adding a little pepper for spice, they have rich pallettes and take a lot of care to balance the spices and oils. this makes it tasty in the mouth and nose, theyre very aromatic. i have not identified any GFS out of box vegetables they use either, such as coin cut carrots and other similar sad and flaccid vegetables able to camouflage in the sauce pakoras, naan, and other dough based foods are equally well tendered to. crispy but not too oily or overfried, they add just enough salt, etc. there are so many things this place does well that its straight flavor alchemy. these people can treat me weird till the end of time and ill still be begging for their food once the world goes down, and you should too. never be jaded by reviews of people nagging about petty customer service quips - this is true in general but especially for this place read more

The delivery experience wasn't the best. I had read the reviews and knew what I was getting in to so I'm not going to fault them for the extra wait. I do think the food did suffer because of the extended wait time. The pakora I got was no longer crispy it had moved into heat lamp chewy. The rice was really plain. The bread was past its prime. It was like a big thick tortilla and was not as enjoyable as what I get from other places around town. The green Chile cardamom bread didn't taste very different from the plain bread. The main dishes were good. I would say just get that and some bread and you'll be satisfied. The Malai kofta was very tasty and the sauce was enjoyable. The paneer butter masala was also really delicious. Spice levels were great. I would give it 3.5 stars if I could. read more

Review here seem very mixed. My first time ordering from here. Had a 4.8 on DoorDash and nearly 1,000 reviews. Hadn't had Indian food in a long time. Was pretty quick, fresh, large portion and taste is amazing. One thing to point out, Hot = Authentic Indian Hot!!! I want to start out by saying this is my absolute FAVORITE Indian food. Hands down has the best paneer tikka masala in the city (and I have tried them all). That being said, the customer service here is the worst I have ever experienced. Like it's almost a joke how poorly they treat their customers. If you are one of the lucky people to order online and have your food ready when you get there to pick it up, go buy a lottery ticket. *I would say about 70% of the time my order isn't ready and trying to figure out why is a nightmare-- did they get it and just not make it? Is the kitchen just really backed up? Do they not believe I am the person I say I am when picking up food (has literally happened and when my SO went in to get the food he walked out with it no questions asked) *The past 5 times I have gone there has been a literal screaming argument between someone else picking up food and an employee *DoorDash delivered the wrong food (I ordered from Cinnamon's website but DoorDash delivered, so DoorDash couldn't just reorder my order) and when I called them to straighten it out they hung up on me, when I called back to ask for a refund they yelled at me and then hung up We moved away from the immediate area and while I CRAVE the food constantly, I just can't justify going all that way there and risk dealing with the employees when the food is inevitably not ready. read more

I had ordered delivery from them once before and had a great meal, even wrote a raving yelp review, but this time was very different. I had finally talked my boyfriend into trying Indian food but this completely ruined any chance of him having it again. Our delivery was not only late, cold, and bland but part of it was missing. I called the driver immediately and he said I would be refunded for what was missing when he got back to the restaurant. I was not. Today when I tried to call during their business hours the phone was disconnected. I used to manage a restaurant that did delivery, and if something was missed on an order I would offer to refund immediately and/or send my driver back out with the missing item(s). I've gotten Cinnimon probably 10 times now. Since before they moved locations. Food is very consistent, it's the same every time. Food is always hot and very well packaged. You'll get free Naan or extra rice pretty often. Portion size is medium. Pretty good portions for the price. The price is a few dollars cheaper than most other Indian restaurants, plus free delivery. Flavor is always subjective, but in comparison to other Indian restaurants in the area, definitely comparable with other Indian restaurants in the area at the same price range. Very well seasoned, without an overwhelming amount of grease. There are of course better Indian restaurants around town if you are looking for the fancy sit-down experience, but you'll spend a lot more. This place rules for takeout. read more

By far the best Indian restaurant in Columbus! We order the mushroom saag, daal tadka, and vegetable pakora--their sauces are really fresh tasting and flavorful. We have also tried an eggplant dish, which was amazing, and the mushroom masala, which was fine. They are super friendly and reasonably priced. We regularly get take out because it is amazing, but the atmosphere could use some work. The only thing I wish they would change is adding whether an item is gluten free or vegan onto the menu, otherwise, everything is great! We have eaten from here about twice a month, if not more, since moving here, we love it that much. We recently tried their competitors, New Taj Mahal down the street, and we were so disappointed! Cinnamon is so flavorful, they know how to do spice, and they are so much fresher. Absolutely recommend! They also have great discounts for students and for carry out! read more
