He incorrectly diagnosed the ECM unit that controls the blower motor. I asked if it could be the motor, and he insisted it was just the ECM unit. Since it was 105F outside and I didn't have any air conditioning, I agreed to pay the $1500 price. He also charged me $250 to replace a contact relay which didn't need replacing. Once the new ECM unit was in place, the motor still was not working, so NOW he said it was the motor. He wanted another $1500 for that! Still desperate, I initially agreed. Then I looked up these parts online and found they only cost $400 each! So I called Steve back and canceled the motor. Then I called someone else, who replaced it for much less. At no time did Steve connect diagnostic equipment to my unit to determine the real problem, and he didn't examine the suspect parts before ordering expensive new ones. If he had pulled and examined the blower motor, he would have instantly seen it was rusted and was the only part that needed to be replaced. Also as a result of his careless workmanship, the other company had to replace the wire harness as well because it was damaged when Steve installed the ECM unit. When I tried to go the address listed in Yelp, I found Climate Tek was not there. They apparently don't want anyone coming to their door with complaints. So I called them and spoke with their receptionist/purchaser. She agreed that it sounded like a misdiagnosis and that I was due at least a partial refund. When I finally got to talk to Steve again, I asked him for some compensation, and he argued that his diagnosis was correct and that to replace both the ECM and the motor would have cost $3000. Never mind that he had to do the same work only one time to replace both units at the same time! So I guess the additional $2200 would be their labor charge? I think not! He finally agreed to send me a check for $400. That was three weeks ago, and still no check. I even called them and left a voice message a week ago, and still no response. I highly recommend you go SOMEWHERE ELSE for your AC work. These guys are scoundrels and will rip you off. They don't have a physical address, so you can't go there and complain, They don't know what they're doing, but they will gladly charge you an arm and a leg to fix your AC unit. The will replace one part at a time until the problem just happens to get fixed instead of properly diagnosing your system and replacing the actual bad parts. Do NOT use these guys. Go somewhere else.

He offered to get us a quote which he sent me the next day. I questioned the reliability of the brand he was offering. He admitted that it was a substandard brand and requoted with a more reliable brand. We agreed to move forward with the installation at which time he said we needed to meet him at the supplier to pay for the unit directly. We asked him to just purchase the unit and we would reimburse him but he refused. We reluctantly drove to the supplier to meet him. When we got there we could not find him. I called him and turned out that he texted us an address to the wrong supplier. His response was not apologetic and just laughed. He sent us a different address and eventually found the correct place. Proceeded with the purchase and then looked at the unit we bought. His quote was for a 36000 btu unit and the unit he had them load in his vehicle was a 24000 btu unit. We questioned the difference and hus response was that the smaller unit would work as well as the unit he had quoted. We got into a heated conversation and proceeded back inside to cancel the purchase with the supplier. The unit he quoted us on cost $500 more and refused to make the situation right. The supplier got involved and offered to absorb the $500 difference so we could be a satisfied customer. At that point Victor got really angry because they were willing to do that for us. He demanded that the supplier cancel the transaction and made them give us a refund. What an unbelievable situation.

AES was not the cheapest, but I went with Jeff because he went above and beyond and took a copy of the notice from the inspector and called the inspector himself just to clarify exactly what he (inspector) wanted. Honestly, that to me is excellent customer service. I didn't have to ask him to do that, he took it upon himself to do that to make sure the job gets done to perfection and we pass inspection. Called to see why it was happening and see if we could get it fixed. Gentleman came to the house and had us "repeat the problem" several times. We plugged in several things at once and over and over the circuit blew and they could not fix it without rewiring the entire home. Okay, bummer- its a rental and we can't afford that. No biggie. But, now I am being charged TWO HUNDRED AND THIRTY DOLLARS for someone to come and blow my circuit about 10 times, and say there's nothing to be done. Come on Jeff, that is highway robbery. Make sure you state "I want an estimate , rather than come and see what the problem is" or else you will get charged a proposterous amount. Will never, ever use this man again.
