I'm SO glad to have finally found a HVAC company that I can truly trust!.....that's very honest, professional, fair, and do their work like a true expert. Why? To cut a long story short, I have not had good experiences with HVAC companies in the past where they try to scare you into paying for overpriced (and unnecessary) replacement parts, expensive service plans, and then end up doing shoddy work. This was why my AC never cooled like it was supposed to.....for the last 6 or 7 years! Until now. I had read through all the reviews on Yelp for a HVAC company I could trust, and finally narrowed my choices down to Stanley at Irvine AC. I emailed the company about what I needed done....that is, AC was not cooling as it should, and to have my themostat replaced to a smart one. The response was quick and detailed....and surprised me as it was on a weekend and I didn't expect any reply till the following work week. Anyway, I later learned that it was Stanely himself who responded to my email, informing me what he would do, what it would cost, and even made several suggestions on thermostats for me to consider over the rest of the weekend....I really appreciated that. Anyway, Stanley texted me 20-30 minutes before ETA...nice....and arrived on time. He nicely greeted me, came prepared with his bag of tools,and a fully equipped van, and was even respectful enough to have brought shoe covers so as not to dirty our floors.....very good impression made so far. Stanley went to the AC unit outside to do his diagnosis and some time later came back to tell me what he found and made suggestions to fix the problem. It seemed the capacitor the previous HVAC tech installed was an unapproved model, and they had left the gas caps off, which is why the AC's freon had been leaking all these years, making the air in my home not cool. OMG! I couldn't believe it....finally, a solution! Stanley then gave us a breakdown as to what everything would cost, and I was pleasantly surprised it sounded very fair (compare to my neighbor who recently had his AC serviced). He also told us what we did and didn't need, never tried to upsell me into expensive parts and services, and definitely didn't try to sell me some overpriced service plan. Just simple, honest, friendly and fair expert service...that's it. I would not recommend this company based on my experience. After learning that my landlord would be paying for the repair, the estimate increased dramatically and included many unnecessary items. I later confirmed with the technician who actually fixed my AC that most of the recommended work wasn't needed. What concerned me the most was that I saw this technician cut one of the wires on my AC unit. At the time, I thought I must have been mistaken, but the technician who ultimately repaired my AC confirmed that a wire was indeed missing. You can certainly use them for a free estimate, but don't rely on just their opinion. Get multiple quotes before making any decisions. read more

Our first big house renovation project was a huge success because of Irvine A/C and Refrigeration. Out of the 4 HVAC companies we got bids from, we decided to go with Irvine A/C. This is primarily due to Stanley's professionalism, clear explanation and being able to meet our timeline. Once the projected started, Stanley and his crew (Tim and Stan) arrived promptly and installed the new ducting system in a timely manner. They left the house in the same condition it was in before beginning the install. We passed the HERS testing and got city permitting done. Stanley took care of both for us. The new ducting install took a day or two to complete. We waited a few days for the HERS testing and city inspector. Stanley and crew came back two weeks later to install the boot covers once we finished adding new dry wall and paint. Throughout the whole process, Stanley and Mike were in constant communication with us. They always replied promptly to our email, text and phone calls. In their last visit, Stanley and crew made sure all the boot covers were installed and even check our AC unit when we asked about the noise from the return vent. They fixed our AC unit on the spot! Robert and his team were outstanding. I had a refrigerant leak in a 10-year-old system and got quotes from five different companies. Most of them wouldn't even discuss anything other than a full replacement. Robert looked at my situation and said the system still had life in it. He quoted the coil replacement, explained exactly why, and was upfront that a full system could wait a few years. What stood out most was his responsiveness and honesty. I asked a lot of questions over about a week, and he answered every one in detail -- never rushed, never vague. When I asked about a more expensive system, he told me plainly he wouldn't recommend it for my house and explained why. He also caught a couple of items on his own estimate that didn't belong and removed them before I asked. On the day of the work, his crew replaced the coil and filter drier, flushed the line set which was the scope of work. They then cleaned the outdoor coil, corrected the system's level so water wouldn't sit in the pan, and replaced a worn contactor and connectors all at no extra charge. Robert came out personally to commission the system and sent me detailed photos and readings afterward so I'd have a baseline going forward. We initially called Irvine AC for my home and my husband highly recommended it so I called them for some HVAC and refrigeration issues from the shop I work at. This company is extremely professional, efficient and never tries to oversell. The previous company I used would only do half the job so they could get paid for another maintenance visit. This happened maybe 5 times and cost my shop over a $1500 for nothing. After calling their number, Mike was quick to get me a time for a visit and quote. He could've tried to push us to buy a new AC, like most other companies would've, especially in the peak of summer. We had him fix again it again recently when the AC stopped working, and we finally decided to replace it. I think he is honest and fair pricing, and the team did a great job on the install. I contacted the company on a Saturday, and was answered that day and offered an appointment at 8 am Monday. I received a text when Dan was on his way. He was on time, professional, and explained clearly. As we hoped, our AC unit just needed to be cleaned and the freon refreshed. The only reason it was so expensive was because it is an old system and the US has banned the freon we need, so it has to come from Europe. Thankfully, Dan had some with him and was able to get our AC up and running within an hour or so. That was two days ago, and our AC is running beautifully. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Irvine Air and the people behind it. I used Yelp's Project tool to solicit a number of quotes for an HVAC diagnostic and potential replacement. From the outset, Irvine Air and Robert distinguished itself by its prompt responses and--quite frankly--just inserting the human element to this. (We've all been subject to the cut and paste responses from some of these companies that relay no substantive content at all.) They were also accommodating when it came to scheduling, right before the madness of the holidays no less, and offered a complimentary diagnostic to boot. The rest is history. Due to their friendliness, knowledge and expertise when it came to my HVAC system (my condo was built in the 90s so a lot of it is dated and different from more modern systems), I quickly chose them to proceed with my project. I had collected 3 other quotes, some of which were a tad cheaper, but to me, it was worth a little extra money to go with a trustworthy company that was really personable as well. When I raised the cheaper quotes issue, they were also flexible in cost to bring it more in range with the other quotes, which was greatly appreciated. They also have fantastic warranty.
