Moral of the story: They Saved the Day Situation: We originally had another company through our home warranty come out and do an HVAC/Tune up for Heating during the fall. They came and after they left not only did our heater not work, neither did our air conditioning. The company came back to "fix" the damage and yet again nothing worked a few hours later. We were in a rush and Real Time Bros came out for a second opinion. They evaluated the situation and not even 1 hour in they said, "I know what the problem is here". Resolution: A wire was not placed back properly and they immediately just connected it. They also provided some feedback about how to prevent dust from getting into our system to help it last longer. While it was not needed, the recommendation truly helped. I give them five stars not only for helping and assisting, but not being pushy or trying to push us in any direction either. I finally found the place and person to go to for all my Heating/Cooling maintenance and repairs! We've had a non-working furnace for about a year. My first instinct is to DIY and figure out what the issue is. Given how little my hubby and I know about this stuff, we made every attempt at Reddit and YouTube to troubleshoot. Naturally, the issue was beyond what we could solve so I went on a search for a professional. This search went on for a year until I found Kenny from Real Time Bros Heating and Air Conditioning. My AC decided to break down during last weekend's heat wave and we were miserable. I did try to fix it by myself by replacing the conduit and while I technically did manage to do it, I did cause some problems for myself. I've used Real Time Bros before and the last time they came out, I had a good experience and decided to use them again. I contacted them over Yelp and got a response quickly and they were able to accomodate and come the next day. This time, Jae came out and my sister was the one who spoke to him. He was super kind, took pictures, and explained things to her super well, allowing her to explain the situation to me. He was also done super fast, fixing the issue within an hour. I honestly had expected that he would have to return the next day, but was happy I had AC that night. I find the prices they charge fair and like how honest they are about what can be fixed, how to fix it, and what can go wrong. I also love that their diagnostic is free and how they're not pushy. I also really appreciate that Real Time Bros sends a picture of the technician before coming. This really puts me and my family at ease. They're also good about sending email confirmations and invoices super quickly. After my initial review and emails to their manager, RTBHAC called me to schedule a full replacement of my current system. Props to them to upholding their warranty. Their guys came in and replaced the entire system with a new one from AC Pro. Only thing I'm concerned about is that it still used the same R-410A but the installer said parts are easier to replace for this brand. Guys worked hard and quick and at the end of the day I got a working unit again just in time for the heat wave. We initially called one of their competitors for a furnace tune-up, and the technician told us the furnace was in "dangerous condition" and needed to be replaced immediately. I wasn't ready to make that decision on the spot, and when they offered to get a second opinion from their manager, I politely said "no thanks." Frustratingly, their supervisor still showed up to "verify the issue" and the same story was repeated--our furnace was unsafe and had to go. This was frustrating because we'd been running it daily without any noticeable problems. After they left with a quote for $8,500, I decided to get a second opinion and reached out to Real Time Bros Heating and Air through Yelp. The next day, Kekoa showed up at our door. He was super friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain the safety mechanisms built into our furnace, reassuring me that there was no immediate danger. He did point out that the furnace was from 1978 and offered us three replacement options. The middle option he recommended was more than enough for our home's size, and it came in at $2K cheaper than the competitor's quote, which was admittedly based on a top-of-the-line brand. The Real Time Bros installation went smoothly, and the workers were great. When there was a small issue with the Smart Thermostat activation, they patiently waited while another technician brought by a new unit and helped me get everything set up in the app. It's been a week now, and the new furnace is working perfectly. RTB replaced my mother's HVAC system. She is 96 and quite with-it, but doesn't know a much about HVAC, so I handled the process of getting multiple bids. We selected RTB because we had reason to trust their assessment of the problem and because they had experience in working with my mom's HOA, which is notoriously challenging. Over the course of the process, we encountered quite a number of the members of the RTB team. Every one of them went out of there way to make sure my mom understood whatever was going on at that moment and they did what they said they were going to do. This included making sure mom understood what was wrong, what her choices were, and, after installation, how to work with the new thermostat, which turned out to have a problem. Once we figured out it really was the thermostat and not my mom, the technician who came out to fix it very patiently coached my mom on how to use it. This system was installed in August. It took until February for the HOA to send their finalized approval. I waited to write this review until we got that final approval. If there was a problem, I wanted to see how responsive RTB would be after they had been fully paid. It turns out we had no problem with the approval, but we did have that problem with the thermostat, which they very promptly fixed and spent a very generous amount of time making sure my mom would be comfortable. I felt RTB was not only trustworthy but also very fairly priced. So we will working with them to maintain the system for the foreseeable future. read more

We had a furnace that was out of warranty, and after a thorough discussion with their team, I decided to replace it. Our long-term goal was to add an AC unit since our home didn't have one. I got a new Lennox furnace right before Christmas. After saving for a few months, I had them install a high-efficiency Lennox AC unit to pair with the new furnace. That job was just completed. Real Time Bros offered a great price and added tremendous value by walking me through the pros and cons of each model that I should consider in detail. I wanted to like Real Time Bros, really I did. At the beginning, they were quick to respond and schedule me to diagnose my broken furnace. The technician Kekao showed up on time, was friendly and knowledgeable of his craft. He explained the problem to me and options to have it fixed. We moved forward with an option and he fixed it asap. My system was working again and I was happy. So what happened? Well, afterwards the technician told me there are some electrical improvements that they can do improve longevity on my HVAC system and help it run more efficiently. I was very interested in this service and asked him to email me details and the estimated cost. I didn't get a response back. I figured he was busy so I waited, then followed up again the next day via text, but still no response. I never heard from him again and I was confused as to why that was. This knocked off a star. Secondly, they emailed me an invoice and I replied back asking how I can pay for it. I got no response back. I decided to drive to the office after work to pay them in person since the office is 3 minutes from my house. I showed up at 4:15pm but no one was there. They are supposed to be open until 5pm. I called the office and someone remote said they would check with the manager if I can stop by the next day. I never got a call back. I decided to call again at 3pm before stopping by and was told not to come to the office, and that a technician would stop by my house to pick up the payment. They eventually did and I paid them, but this whole process was so frustrating for a customer. This knocked off another star. Overall, RT Bros got my furnace fixed and I'm thankful for that. If that's all you care about, these guys will get the job done. If you're looking for a HVAC company that you can trust and build a relationship with to be your go-to company, I would not recommend them. Their operating model makes for a poor customer experience. The condensate pump on our HVAC system stopped pushing water and sounded about ready to call it quits, so I checked YELP and came up with Real Time Bros. Their reviews on the platform are stellar, so I scheduled an appointment online. The technician, Ken, arrived within the timeframe window that we had scheduled. Before he came in, Ken put on some shoe covers, which I always appreciate. He took a good look at the pump and then spent some time explaining the different things that might have gone wrong with the unit. Ken took the pump apart and cleared out a clogged line, but when doing that he noticed that a connection piece had torn. After putting everything back together, he explained that he could install a new unit and he gave me a verbal estimate for that job. He then gave me the suggestion that I could also pick up a condensate pump and install it myself. He gave me all the specs I needed and told me the exact unit that would work to replace mine, and he said if I had any problems with the install give him a call. He even changed my existing connection points to make them easier for me to do the install myself! To top it all off, Ken didn't charge me for the service call. He left without collecting any payment. He said that he wouldn't charge me if I was the one that was going to be replacing the unit anyway! Wow. Ken was professional and knowledgeable. He suggested an option that wouldn't make him or Real Time Bros any money, and didn't charge me at all for the work that he did to examine the pump. Ken and Real Time Bros are obviously an honest crew and I will recommend them to anyone who needs Heating and Air Conditioning work done. Also, if I flub the install of the new unit, Ken and Real Time Bros will be my first call. 100% Recommend. read more

Initially worked with Kekoa who was a great champion to ensure that our project goal was in focus that every room was evenly cooled. Then Abraham and his team came onsite and found a solution through out all the obstacles to complete the job. He was very transparent and gave me options on solving the problem. After explaining the situation to her, she said a technician would be out noon-2p (this was at ~11:30a). At ~12:45, Hunter C. arrived. He introduced himself & offer to wear booties, so as to no damage my mother's hardwood floors. He diagnosed the problem, changed the air filter & gave us an estimate on another project. The technician, Darren, arrived on time and used several tools to check the pressure in the lines and assess how much freon was needed. However, he was unable to show me--via his tools or otherwise--exactly how much freon was required. He told me one unit was fine, but the other might need around 5 pounds, and that he would only know for sure once he started filling it. He mentioned it would be about one pound per second, and after using a small tank he brought, he said he had filled 5 pounds of freon. He then charged me $500 for it--with no receipt provided. I paid him via Zelle. I trusted him at the time, but was uneasy about the fact that there was no clear measurement or evidence of how much freon was needed or actually used. Later, when I told my friends that 5 pounds of freon were added, they all said that amount usually points to a major leak in the system. The technician did mention there might be a leak, but never said it was anything significant. Since the refill, the AC has been running fine with no major sign of leak. How much freon did he really filled in is a mystery. Had he shown me via tool or weighing his tank, I would have been satisfied I decided to write this review because I personally rely on reviews when making service decisions, and I want others to be aware of my experience. read more

I was very pleased with the professional and technical expertise of Abraham and Abel when they installed my new Goodman furnace. I had even requested they put liners on the floor and seal off the kitchen with plastic to keep any dust out and Abraham was more than willing to do that, as well as cut a tiny door in the plastic for easy in/out access. They showed up on time, were very friendly, professional, had all the necessary tools and materials, and took extra time and care to make sure the installation was done properly, the safety checks were completed, the fan speed was to my liking, and they left no mess afterwards (everything was cleaned up very nicely). I was very pleased with the overall price, the quality of the work, the technical professionalism of Abraham and Abel, the courtesy they extended to me, and the overall experience. I also worked with Moises and Ivan who did extensive troubleshooting on my old furnace and went out of their way to try to repair it. But the unit was too old and beyond repair, so they helped me identify a new unit that would be ideal for my home. They were extremely friendly, easy to deal with, no pressure whatsoever, and very responsive to my questions and text messages.
