We have tried them twice as a before theatre meal from the Citidel. Both times the kitchen/service seems way off. Last year we sat outside and enjoyed nice appetizer. Dinner was late after a variety of challenges. This past week, we got there and ended up at the bar before we realized the host stand was vacant. We switched to inside, and all they had was the bar. No challenge, our bad for wishing the weather would hold a few more hours. But after waiting for the hostess, we waited for the bartender. Friendly enough, but obviously busy setting up for the evening and 1st round of orders from a filling in restaurant. Eventually she got to us and took our order. Then we waited. We should have questioned when she finally got around to seeing if we wanted another drink with no food (after appetizers of bread and some of the best cheese curds on either side of the cheddar curtain). The game finished, The next game started, No more bread. No more drink. The bartender disappeared. The host stopped by and we asked about our entree's 5 minutes later - coming soon. Now 90 minutes into our stay, and 10 minutes from showtime, we ponder to ask it to be boxed directly, or just pay for what we slowly got and call it good. Just as I was pulling out my cash, food arrives. We ask to get it boxed and the check. That is another 10 minutes to be ready to present the bill - no discount or sorry or acknowledgement of the delay. Not surprisingly the food was not great the next morning - the sauce was very corn starchy like it was only half done. It seems too much effort was spent on the big table that came in after us and went to the sister restaurant. It has potential, but be ready for slow service and hope the kitchen is on track. read more

The food and service were good, but unfortunately the salmon was visibly undercooked when I cut into it. I didn't want to cause an issue, so I ate it hoping for the best (someone else at the table said they thought it would be okay to eat), but I did end up having some mild food poisoning that evening. We had the cheese curds and pork tacos as apps, which were both good, especially the pork tacos. One of the other guests with me got a filet mignon, ordered as medium-rare. It came out more like medium-well, but the person having it said it was good, so he didn't mind. Another guest had the cod, which I had some of, and it was good. A good spot with well-designed dishes, but unfortunately the cook there that evening seemed to under- and over-cook, which is why I'm giving three stars. We took my daughter here for her birthday on May 3rd for brunch. We all had different choices and we all enjoyed them very much. We also shared a pancake which was delicious. Service was great and the coffee was perfect. First time for brunch but will be back. We have had dinner many times and have a restaurant with friends soon. read more

Honest review here because FYI they give you $25 for 5 star reviews so I would suggest you take the reviews with a grain of salt.. First of all the restaurant has no ambiance. Zero. It looks like a coastal breakfast place. The food was very average. I've been to many farm to table restaurants and this was not that. We had the steak frites and a pasta dish. The pasta had an inordinate amount of garlic in it. The steak was ordered medium and was kind of burned on the outside. The steak was super chewy and lacked salt as did the sauce. Didn't care for the "frites" at all. Texture was weird. I wouldn't go back. Guess I won't be getting a gift card read more

Modern medium sized American-French fusion restaurant with a spacious and welcoming decor. We really wanted to love this place and visited on three separate occasions for brunch. Aside from the host not being welcoming or friendly, the bruschetta was on an insufficiently toasted rye bread with misplaced truffle oil, the French onion soup was thickened and it collided with the flavor, just like the soggy rye bread on top of it, the wedge potatoes over seasoned with not enough salt, the French fries dry and not appetizing, the same rye bread on the ham sandwich was a rough grit sandpaper to the temple of my mouth. Why did we come back? The orange cake was pleasant with dense profile and nice orange zest taste, the breakfast with a fluffy omelette and crispy bacon was light and delicious, the zucchini noodles very fresh with the Parmesan and ricotta complementing it sublimely, the cod tender and flavorful, the potato chips crispy and delicious, and the cheesecake very fresh and bursting with flavor. The service was great. A nice quiet date night for me and the wife. The salmon, which was recommended by our waiter, was amazing!

Dropped in for a late Sunday lunch and left pleased with our choices. Daughter ordered the zucchini noodles with mushrooms and ricotta. I had the cod. The zucchini noodles had the right texture and taste. The pesto was rich, but not too overwhelming. The cod came panko encrusted. It was light, crispy and moist. Potato thick fries accompanied the fish. They served it with vinegar which personal preference is not my fave All-in-all, enjoyable and recommended. read more

Cute-ish atmosphere, friendly service, it's right next to the train so think about eating inside. The food presentation was awesome, very photo worthy but that's all you get out of this place. The food was horrid, on a Sunday after noon you'd expect the place to be full for brunch. The steak was salty, shrimp overcooked, and the fish we think was old, had a very weird and unsettling taste to it. The pancakes were really the only thing that tasted okay, the flavor was great, a little sweet for brown butter, and they fell apart easily. Toast and eggs were good, but you can't mess that up Over all the menu looks nice and is a great idea but the food is bad. read more

I went to Everett Farms last night to celebrate my boyfriends 30th birthday! This was our first time dining here, and we chose it because we had not heard of it before. Overall, we did like it but we just weren't ready to give it 5 stars. We arrived at our reservation time and noticed there were plenty of open tables, yet were still told to wait three times for our table. I wish that the waiting area was a bit more open and inviting it felt a bit cramped. Our server was really friendly. We started with cocktails which were both delicious. Neither tasted like they had much alcohol in it which could always be a dangerous thing, haha! We started with the whipped three cheese appetizer! It was delicious and very creamy. I would suggest it! For our entrées we split the pork chop and the salmon. We both agreed the Pork Chop was better. The mushroom sauce with it was delicious. The broccolini served with it had great flavor too. We did feel like the grits were a bit too buttery. The salmon was cooked a bit under, but tasted fine. It was served with a mango vinaigrette which was good, but felt out of place. Our server did come and check in on us often, and our water was always kept full which I appreciate! We took a look at the dessert menu, but nothing really appealed to us at the time! I did like that they had a root beer float on the menu. I think that's really fun. We aren't prepared to run back, but overall it was a nice experience. I wish they did a little something for my boyfriend for his birthday too (I had notified the restaurant about it beforehand as well). read more

This is actually a 3.5 review Went there with a group for a business dinner, the ambience was ok, I liked that it wasn't dark and dark wood/old style more like a French bistro style They made an aperol spritz for me (not on the menu) which was ok - a little too much ice for me but generally good Appetizers were fried cheese curds: the cheese curds were really good!! The dressing was overly truffle-tasting (but again the curds were great on their own). Not at the cheap side for $15 though We also had homemade chips with a cheese sauce (like a Roquefort style) which was really good (both, chips and cheese sauce!) I really loved the duck confit !! Good side servings too - just the gravy seemed almost artificially colored (to me), taste was great !! I had also a taste of their mushroom risotto which I really loved! One comment - I'd appreciate if their wine glasses were at least all filled at the same level (and none of them was over filled I'd say). Also try their Creme brûlée, this is quite good. Generally a little on the pricy end of things, so for what they charge they could be slightly more upscale in ambiance, consistent wine glass sizes would be good also Note if you sit outside you'll hear the Metra train horn and noise frequently! This would be a 4 if they didn't pour their wine so inconstantly (and low)- or wouldn't charge like 13$ a glass I'll certainly give them another try!! read more

Visited on a Sunday night at 6:30 pm without a reservation with my 8 year old. We ordered a $10 Umami burger special - Sunday night burger special - and upgraded to the fries instead of chips for an additional $2, and my son ordered a kid's cheeseburger with fries. Food came out fast, and we were in and out in just about 30 minutes. Umami burger is just the right size and had a lot of flavor and fresh toppings. Kid cheeseburger came with white American or white cheddar cheese that my son said was "the bomb." Will visit again! read more

Great service, great food! I had the Tuna Niciose as it was delicious! The Pulled Pork had a lot of flavor. I highly recommend!

I really try to only highlight good restaurants and not leave negative reviews, but we just left dinner and I can't not write something. The 2nd star is just because they said they were full but still sat us... although I almost wish they didn't. Maybe they were coming off a rush, but there were quite a few open tables. We did family pictures in the area and really wanted a good meal after. We saw the great reviews here so figured it would be a good fit. I now know that the high reviews are probably based off the receipt saying "leave a 5 star review before you go and get a $25 gift card for your next visit." We had an all around less than mediocre dinner. Granted my husband and I both ordered from the $10 Sunday special menu... but we would have just ordered off the main menu if we knew we'd get an overcooked burger and a dry bland chicken sandwich. Wonder if the main menu was better? Couldn't find a server for ketchup or some kind of sauce to help make everything better.... Our drinks took quite awhile to come out. And then we ordered oysters that came out with our sandwiches, which defeats the point. Can't believe we spent $100 on that meal. The cheese curds were the best thing but I just realized they charged us $15 instead of the $10 listed.... We feel completely bamboozled by the whole experience. read more

The food was good. Not excellent. The lamb porterhouse was more meat than usual for a lamb entree, but meat was not great quality. Tasted good though. Pork chop was very good, from a pork chop connoisseur, would get it again. The sides were plentiful and tasty. Service was not bad, but the person could have been more knowledgeable about the menu and there was no bartender the night we went. Ambiance was ok, but not what would be expected for the menu items and price. We would not purposely go here again, but wouldn't not go again either. This place has decent food and a great eight dollar burger special on Sunday nights. Whoever works at the front desk though, it's a man is so rude. It makes me not want to go there. He is not always working at the front desk, but I have been there three times and twice he was rude so it wasn't like he was having a bad day. They also have an outdoor area for seating as the inside is pretty small. read more
