It's not a farm, it's a rescue. They receive old, or injured or rehome "pets" here. Everyone you can tell really cares about the animals. The presentation was very informative and he made sure to stick around afterwards to answer any questions. I am so glad we went for it here. The airboat ride was short but very fun and the amount of time out was perfect for me. We saw 2 alligators and 2 iguanas in the wild which was really fun. Highly recommend

Very cool experience! I would highly recommend visiting, especially on a cloudy day because it can get very hot and humid. I also recommend the alligator encounter add-on, which lets you hold three different-sized gators.

Airboat was fun and we got wet when the driver spin it, the ride along the slough was fun but there was nothing much to explore except the ride itself. It's a 20 minutes ride for $36, of course it included the gators show too.

The best place to see gators and crocodiles! There were so many of them and we also got the alligator encounter. Our guide Noemi was so nice and told us so much information on the alligators. We also got to hold 3 alligators of different ages. We also got the airboat and that was really fun. The driver went really fast and it was fun. They provided headphones to cover our ears since the airboat was so loud. Very nice place to go visit in Florida.

Fantastic experience. We got to see two alligator shows, including feeding and handling and it was incredibly educational and a good amount of humor. It was a wonderful time with family and thank goodness for all the overhead fans running cause we were there during miserable heat. They have a wonderful Gift shop, extremely clean bathrooms, staff was very friendly and plenty of snack options. The fan boat was very fun as well.

Upon reading a ton of reviews from various Airboat businesses in the area, this is the one we decided to go with, and we had no regrets. This is the largest alligator farm in the country (and maybe in the world), the staff is friendly, the facilities are clean, and the Airboat ride was amazing and very memorable. I loved everything about it. If you want a slower airboat experience, Id recommend going with someone else but if you want it safe but with some speed during your ride (while they give you fair warning), this is the one to go with. Out hotel also had a $5 discount for each ticket purchased, so this ended up being much cheaper than we thought it would be, at $34/ticket.

Gator boy ! I swear the bird in front of where we were sitting, said a word but there was no confirmation

Lots of animals to see. The alligator speaker and handler was nice and friendly. We got to hold the baby gators but I also witnessed an irresponsible parent not watch and help their child hold a baby gator and DROPPED THE BABY ! The airboat ride was fun, but it's a quick ride maybe 5-10 mins. The man driving the airboat was kind enough to put my drink in the freezer so it stayed cool for when I got back! I didn't even ask, he offered!

My daughter decided this spot because where else can you hold an alligator We arrived just after the 9:15am encounter tour do we had to do the next one at 11am. Turned out perfect because we got to see the park, watch the feeding, and do the boat tour before the encounter. We stayed for lunch which was the typical food truck but not typical menu. I tried the gator tacos for $10. My daughter had the burger. The highlight at the end was the alligator handling when Tyler did a show interaction with a male and female alligator Highlights Must do encounter! While the whole park was amazing, I was very impressed with the tour. Well worth the extra cost - educational and super cool Tyler Riff was fabulous! He didn't give the same show twice. He interacts with the audience. He is 100 percent real. He talked with us after the show giving my animal loving daughter some good advice. Shot out to you Tyler for the great impact you have on so many.

Here is a map of the Everglades Animal Farm

There are a few ways to experience the Everglades Alligator Farm: Farm Pass ONLY - $30 (adult); $24 (child) Farm Pass + Airboat Tour - $40 (adult); $30 (child) Farm Pass + Airboat Tour + private animal encounter (i.e., hold baby alligator; feed capybara) - $30/$40 + encounter price (adult) $24/$30 + encounter price (child) The Everglades Alligator Farm is a nice-looking, well-maintained facility. The alligator breeding pond is an impressive sight to behold, and we appreciated the Alligator Feeding Show (we didn't see the Alligator Handling Show). The rest of farm consists of a small terrarium (snakes and reptiles), baby gator enclosures, and pens for non-releasable wildlife like different types of crocodiles/gators, capybaras, turtles, bobcats, etc. We did the park admission + airboat tour + animal encounter. The animal encounter (capybara meet-and-greet + feeding) was our primary reason for coming to the Everglades Alligator Farm over other places. The capybara encounter by itself was $158 for (2) adults and (2) kids, and you need to pay for farm admission on top of this: $108 for (2) adults and (2) kids (Farm Pass ONLY). Coming here just to walk around the farm and see the gator shows is probably not going to cut it for most visitors. We came here for the capybara encounter, but after being underwhelmed by what the basic farm admission offered, we upgraded to get the airboat tour: $20 extra for (2) adults and $12 extra for (2) kids. The Airboat "Tour" is more like an Airboat "Thrill Ride". At certain times throughout the day, 4 airboats load up with passengers and "taxi" like airplanes out to some cut pathways in the slough to the south of the Everglades Alligator Farm. There is very little in the way of a tour or educational experience. The airboat goes as fast as its driver can safely operate it and does some tricks like spins. For anyone in the first rows, water definitely sprays over the top during these tricks, but the thing to be most careful about is raising one's feet so as to not have their shoes soaked in the muddy water that rushes over from the waves created by the boat's rotation. Ultimately, we spent $308 for a family of 4 at the Everglades Alligator Farm to enter, go on the airboat tour, and have a 30-min private animal encounter. It was a '4' (out of 5) and worth it for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but if just visiting the farm, I'd rate it a '2'. Add in the airboat tour, and it's a '3' or '4' (out of 5).

I thought the airboat ride would be to try and spot some alligators but apparently it's simply a joyride. Because of my expectations, I was disappointed. However, if you are expecting a joyride, you won't be disappointed. They do have a collection of reptiles and critters in addition to the alligators. You can do a self-guided tour around their property and get a glimpse of the various animals. This was nice but nothing you would t see at the zoo. If you have children, they would enjoy the ride and alligator feeding. Once is more than enough for me.

    Capybara meet and feed

This place is awesome! We had so much fun. We highly recommend adding the alligator holding/feeding and the capybara private feeding. The employees are fantastic. Ricky and Noamy? Spelling? We're extremely knowledgeable and very relaxed. We didn't feel rushed and had plenty of time to visit with the animals and take photos. We definitely created core memories.

We visited the Florida Everglades Alligator and Airboat Tour and had a lovely experience overall. We arrived at 3:45 PM and managed to catch the live alligator feeding, enjoy an airboat tour, watch the alligator handler show, and explore the entire park--all before it closed at 5:30 PM. Tyler was fantastic! He was very informative and patiently answered all of my little one's questions. However, I did find the park to be fairly pricey given the limited number of exhibits. It could benefit from having more employees strategically placed throughout the park to enhance the experience. The airboat tour was fun, but quite short and didn't showcase much of the Everglades. The 360-degree spins were exciting, and you do get wet--so a word of advice: leave designer bags at home, and be prepared for soaked shoes! Overall, we enjoyed our visit but feel it's more of a one-time experience. While it was fun, we likely won't be returning.

Had an amazing time! Airboat ride was fun and getting wet cooled us off before the Encounter led by a great guide! Worth coming to!

Hay una opción de $34 que incluye entrada y el airboat.

Is there an option that doesn't include the airboat ride?

Yes, you can go and look at the alligators without taking the airboat ride. I'm terrified of water but felt safe riding the airboat

Do they have a height requirement for the boat ride? I have a 2 year old 3ft 33lbs who would enjoy it

    No height restriction.

We did a snorkel tour our first day, which took us out in the bay where we got to snorkel in the mangroves and near a limestone shoreline that was filled with lobsters and unique marine life. Sometimes you will get to go snorkel the coral reef, however it was too windy the day we were there, which was disappointing but safety is first priority. Our second day, we kayaked the mangroves. This was my first time kayaking and it took a little while to get the hang of it but it was a cool experience. Going down the mangrove inlets was very peaceful and you could see some cute crabs hanging out at the root of the tree. Be sure to bring bug spray and sunscreen. You will need it! This park is free to enter, but excursions do cost. They are pretty affordable though. If you don't go on any, at least walk the trail around the visitor center and watch the 20 minute video about the park.

There were nice paved and groomed walking trails around the peninsula and bay, as well as a ranger-led fishing experience on the bridge, which didn't cost anything. One of the kids caught a neat looking fish. There was also a nice little visitor center with all sorts of information about the wildlife in the area, as well as different maps and rangers there to talk about what there was to do. Of course there were also junior ranger badges to get, which we made sure to do to add to our collection. Overall this is definitely worth a stop on any trip. Five stars!

The preserve is named after Hattie Bauer a school teacher, whose pioneer family homesteaded in the early 1900's. Hattie passed away in 1961. The land became a private farm in 1922 and a year later it was sold to Lee Arthur Fennell who turned it into one of Miami's first roadside attractions, Fennell's Orchid Jungle which opened in 1923.. Four generations of the Fennell family occupied the land for 70 years until 1992 when Hurricane Andrew destroyed the attraction. Fortunately for the Fennell family their luck changed when they won several million dollars in the lottery. Shortly after that the land was was purchased by the Environmentally Endangered Lands Program and Florida Communities Trust who turned it into a preserve. In 1999 Orchid Jungle was designated as a historic site by Miami -Dade County. The preserve has a loop trail with interpretive boards.
