Mongolian Beef. Sweet and crunchy, so delicious
    Sarah C.

This is my all time favorite place to get Chinese and hands down the only place I will eat Mongolian Beef. You are always greeted and seated promptly by one of the owners and orders are quickly taken. The food is always hot and delicious. I've come here since I was a little girl and the owner always asks how my family is. One of Carrollton's hidden gems!

    Hot and Sour soup...excellent
    John S.

I hadn't been to this restaurant in many years (20 or so) but remembered their hot and sour soup was excellent back in the day. We decided to try it again yesterday, and it did not disappoint, the best I have ever had without a doubt.

    Wonton soup (added soy sauce)

It's ok for a local Chinese takeaway, but consistency is not a thing. Sometimes the food is amazing, some times it's barely ok.

Miss the old owners. Mongolian Beef is just not the same. Too crunchy . Guess I'll have to find somewhere else.

Awkward Welcome, Bland Food, but Attentive Service Rating:…read more (2/5) Review (posted June 22, 2025): I visited Big Bear Asian Buffet at 6 PM on a Sunday evening, hoping for a fresh buffet experience during the dinner rush. Unfortunately, it fell short from the start. When I walked in, I followed the sign that said "Please wait to be seated." I stood there for several minutes as multiple waitresses looked at me but said nothing. It was uncomfortable. Eventually, a woman in a hoodie and sweatsuit appeared, said nothing, waved for me to follow her, and pointed at a table. Still no greeting, no words--just an awkward start to the meal. Once I was seated, one of the original waitresses came over to take my drink order. She ended up being the bright spot of the visit--very attentive and made sure my drink was always topped off. The food, however, didn't live up to expectations. Most of the hot dishes were lukewarm and lacked seasoning. I tried the sushi--five options total--and sadly, all were dry and very bland, like they'd been sitting out for a long time. Not what you'd hope for at prime dinner time. It's worth noting that the place seems to be a hotspot for locals picking up to-go boxes. I watched several people come in, pile food to the very top of their takeout containers, and head out within minutes. So maybe that's their main crowd--but it didn't do much to improve the dine-in experience. Bottom line: The service at the table was solid, but everything else--cold welcome, tired food, and lack of overall hospitality--makes it unlikely I'll return. There are better buffet options in the area where you'll feel like more than just another transaction.

Absolutely horrible. Terrible service. Staff is all sitting at various tables on their cell phones…read morewith speaker phone turned on having loud conversations, not tending to customers. Food was so awful. Worst sushi I've ever put in my mouth. It was dry, old, sliced paper thin, tiny pieces and tasted like vinegar. Inedible. General Tso's chicken was disgusting. They don't care. Had to walk up to cashier to ask if I could get a refill. She was hunched over her cell phone like the servers. No one wants to be there. Bad energy. A server came and slapped the bill down but then sat down and played on her phone and never came to get the bill, so I just finally walked over to the cashier with the plastic tray and my credit card. Didn't even get a "thank you"....Left still hungy because I really couldn't find anything that tasted half way decent. Waste of money and will never go back. Just wanted to help others not make the same mistake I did. Ambiance.....I was the only one there and now I know why.

I've had this place on my list of places to visit for a long time, ever since I saw them opening so…read moreI hopped out of bed and decided today was going to be the day and I took my butt out there to have lunch. The customer service was A1 as a matter of fact is it possible to be too customer service focused because she made sure attention was given. I can't remember her name but she did awesome. Let's talk about this food. I love the scallion pancake and just up the road is Trader Joe's who has a really good product for scallion pancake but there is nothing like getting it at a restaurant. It was so flaky and crispy I'm obsessed. You can never go wrong with a spring roll and so I got the veggie spring rolls and enjoyed them immensely but for me the star of the show was my entree. The house Chow fun that had shrimp steak chicken was so good. The veggies while minimal worked perfectly so the protein and noodles were the stars. And I definitely left with it to go box. There was enough food to keep you satiated at the restaurant and have a meal at home. They also have a list of boba tea and milk teas that will keep you engaged. While I didn't purchase one plenty of people came in to order them. And there was no shortage of In-N-Out traffic of residents coming in for lunch and doing takeouts. So if you want a cute lunch date go and check out dumpling master. Okay bye

**EVERYTHING IS SELF-SERVICE**…read more SERVICE (2/5): You pretty much seat yourself, scan the QR CODE on the table and order from your phone. Grab your own water, utensils, and napkins from the station set up at the front. They have real plates on the table, but also paper plates at the self-serve station. FOOD (3/5): Some of the things I had was really good, some weren't very good. Hit or miss. $7 MILK TEA: I didn't want boba, but didn't know how to order it without on my phone, whoops! It was yummy. $8 PORK & SHRIMP SIU MAI: they were undercooked and I could heavily taste flour. I love that they are made fresh, however either thin out the dough or cook longer. $9 PORK SOUP DUMPLINGS: these were delish! And came with a sweet dipping sauce. $13 GARLIC BOK CHOY: shareable portion and very flavorful! This was my favorite item. Comes with white rice, but the rice was hard and tasted old. OVERALL (3/5): I wasn't super impressed, but there aren't many Asian restaurants in this area.

No, it means "mix all the sauces together." When I got the wings I assumed it was just an accident from putting them in the same box, but when I called they said no, that's what's it means. I tried to eat a couple of the wings, but the sauce and oil soup the wings were soaking literally made me nauseated. Try to imagine eating wings that had been submerged in a stew of oil flavored with lemon pepper, cajun spice, garlic parmesan, and honey. The very nice woman who answered the phone told me they'd replace the order, but when she handed it to the manager to do, his English wasn't quite good enough to understand what I was saying. He gave up and handed the phone to a third person. I don't know who he was, but his Asian accent was so thick he was barely intelligible. I eventually I figured out he was saying no, and that I should have known what "mix" meant. I told him the woman had just said I could have a replacement and he ignored me. To be clear, nothing on the order page explains this. As a bonus, I'm attaching a photo. I promise, it's even worse in person. This was twenty wings for almost $40, though $9 of that went to DoorDash. The wings were unusually small, too, which would have been an issue if I could have eaten them. Stay away. Stay far away.
