My husband and I have been here 3 times. The first time we dined in for the buffet. Decent price, and the food was decent enough for a buffet. The 2nd time we picked out food to go. It's $5.99 per pound, so we only paid about $23.30 for like 3lbs of food, which was awesome. We were excited to come back to do it again. Today we went for the 3rd time. We had just went grocery shopping and wanted to relax after getting home so we decided to get it to go. The scale read 6lbs and some change... the lady charged us $56.47. Absolute scam. The dude who rang us up the last time seemed legit, but the woman definitely isn't. I understand that it's a lot of money to run a buffet, but scamming people is not right. Awkward Welcome, Bland Food, but Attentive Service Rating: (2/5) Review (posted June 22, 2025): I visited Big Bear Asian Buffet at 6 PM on a Sunday evening, hoping for a fresh buffet experience during the dinner rush. Unfortunately, it fell short from the start. When I walked in, I followed the sign that said "Please wait to be seated." I stood there for several minutes as multiple waitresses looked at me but said nothing. It was uncomfortable. Eventually, a woman in a hoodie and sweatsuit appeared, said nothing, waved for me to follow her, and pointed at a table. Still no greeting, no words--just an awkward start to the meal. Once I was seated, one of the original waitresses came over to take my drink order. She ended up being the bright spot of the visit--very attentive and made sure my drink was always topped off. The food, however, didn't live up to expectations. Most of the hot dishes were lukewarm and lacked seasoning. I tried the sushi--five options total--and sadly, all were dry and very bland, like they'd been sitting out for a long time. Not what you'd hope for at prime dinner time. It's worth noting that the place seems to be a hotspot for locals picking up to-go boxes. I watched several people come in, pile food to the very top of their takeout containers, and head out within minutes. So maybe that's their main crowd--but it didn't do much to improve the dine-in experience. Bottom line: The service at the table was solid, but everything else--cold welcome, tired food, and lack of overall hospitality--makes it unlikely I'll return. Absolutely horrible. Terrible service. Staff is all sitting at various tables on their cell phones with speaker phone turned on having loud conversations, not tending to customers. Food was so awful. Worst sushi I've ever put in my mouth. It was dry, old, sliced paper thin, tiny pieces and tasted like vinegar. Inedible. General Tso's chicken was disgusting. They don't care. Had to walk up to cashier to ask if I could get a refill. She was hunched over her cell phone like the servers. No one wants to be there. Bad energy. A server came and slapped the bill down but then sat down and played on her phone and never came to get the bill, so I just finally walked over to the cashier with the plastic tray and my credit card. Didn't even get a "thank you"....Left still hungy because I really couldn't find anything that tasted half way decent. Waste of money and will never go back. Best Basically Chinese, as they are basically the only Chinese food in Bainbridge. I usually do takeout, so not really familiar with the buffet. I am very happy with the steamed dumplings and wonton soup. Happy with the beef lo mein and spring rolls. No matter how you ask, nothing listed as spicy will be spicy (e.g., General Tso's chicken). They tend to use a too thick coating on everything, so beef and broccoli tastes mainly of coating. Only other asian style food in Bainbridge is Yuki Express. read more

We have frequented this establishment numerous times before and had a good experience but this past Sunday was not one of those visits. We arrived at 11:30 a.m. The waitress asked for our drink orders (2 unsweet teas and 1 sweet tea) and we were brought 3 unsweet teas. We told the waitress that one tea was supposed to be sweet and she had a very hard time understanding "sweet tea". We got our food and it was just room temperature - not hot at all. I asked for an empty to-go cup for my tea and was told I would be charged for a cup. Give me a break!!! I just spent over $50 on this buffet that was mediocre at best and you're going to charge me for a cup to put my tea in that I just paid for!!!! It may be quite a while before we go back to this restaurant!!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!! read more

I've been eating here at least once a week for the last 2 years, but I think I'm done. The food is good, but they can't seem to keep the popular items available on the buffet. Today, I waited 30 minutes for the spicy pepper chicken, and the guy kept say 5 minutes. 5 minutes never came. I finally got so irritated, I just paid and left. The owner doesn't even ask how it was anymore. They get a lot of business because they're the only Chinese buffet around. Love this buffet. One of my favorite restaurants in Carrollton. Miss Ling Ling the owner is always so sweet and personable. Whatever I need is always full-filled. The only con is that there is one server who isn't that nice, but Miss Ling Ling makes up for it. The food is what you expect at a Chinese buffet and is constantly being re-filled. Good Quality. My favorite is the crawfish, although I do wish it had more spice, I understand why it does not have much spice since we are in Carrollton ( majority of the people in Carrollton do not like spice since it is a more conservative town). I get it's nice to tip people bc i do work in the food industry, but when we paid there was no need for the lady at the front desk to constantly ask my boyfriend for a tip and then when we was leaving the server came and got us and was repeatedly asking for a tip . so at the end of the day she didn't get one . read more

So here's the jist of this place... It's an Asian all you can eat buffet. Their service is decent, and their food is great. I tasted literally everything they had, and the only iffy food was the pizza they had. For 11$ it was pretty good stuff, and their lunch prices round to about 8$. I recommend the green beans. Those were to die for. The last thing that was kind of an issue was that not everything was labelled and even some of the labels were placed incorrectly. How can you show up at 11:15 for a buffet and half of what you put in your plate from the hot items are cold when you start to eat? Because the food isn't fresh. Perhaps they save their leftovers and try to rewarm them? Pretty disgusting and not very tasty. I hope the owner reads this and stops this practice. I wish there was more options for chicken other than General Tso and Sweet and Sour. Maybe some Sesame chicken? But other than that, I very much enjoy this place. The hibachi is so good and so are the egg rolls. I'm not a fan of sushi in general, but that also looks good. I just might try some the next time I go. Very good and clean. read more

We came here over an hour before they were scheduled to close but they greeted us and sat us. We then went to visit the buffet and were immediately disappointed. Everything looked old and not dry. Only 2 chicken options. And for some reason every time we went to get food every single employee, like 10 people, were glaring at us awkwardly as we fixed our plates. Not only that but one man stood with his arms crossed and watched us eat from across the room the entire time. They also vacuumed and started throwing food away before we were even finished. Wanted to try to the Asian Buffet in Carrollton. We've been needing a good Asian buffet for a while now. Upon arrival, the outside appearance is very clean and inviting. Walked in and was greeted with an odd stare from the servers. Got seated and went about our way to try out the rather small (considering the size of the place) buffet. Everything smelled good! First things first- fried rice. Nope... it looked like boiled rice with soy sauce in it- but it was very dry and had no flavor. On to the noodles- cheaply made low mein noodles (could have gotten them at the Dollar Tree). Crab Rangoons were pretty good- crunchy and warm with good flavor. Pepper steak was not good- flavor was mediocre. Egg drop soup- YUCK! It tasted like dirty mop water. Egg rolls were crispy and started out with good flavor, but the meat inside wasn't cooked thoroughly and was still pink. The fruit tasted like it had been washed in cleaner- after it was cut. Hibachi was decent, but the chef made a comment about everyone's plate if he didn't agree with what or how much they selected for their own plate. Sushi was decent. Ice cream cooler was not good at all- everything was either melted or had been melted and refrozen. The service was horrible. Server was nice, however, never offered a refill. I will happily give this place a 1-star review, but certainly nothing more. After a horrible experience, the fortune cookie read "Aren't you glad you just had a great meal?".... HA! read more
