Used Evergreen a couple of times and didn't love it. Dry cleaning is fine but if you wash and fold prepare to have your clothes overly doused with detergent to the extent that they're not just excessively fragrant but feel soapy and irritating to the skin. Owner is high strung and borderline rude and never admits fault. Would stay away if you have other options. read more

I've been going to them since September 2014 and I am indifferent. I liked how they did my clothes before but now I am starting to notice a scent on my clothing. It is not a bad scent but since it reeks all over my clothing I have to put more of my perfume on it as opposed to before. Sometimes the clothes feel a little starchy like they didn't use enough softener. I could be wrong thought but I still will go to them because I love their service and how quickly they get my clothes done. I just wish they opened on Sundays. read more

This review is for shoe repair services. I had my favorite boots repaired here and they did a great job. I had quoted a few shoe repair specialty shops in Manhattan, and the price was about the same. I expected to pay a bit more in LIC anyway. This is now a place I can trust for fixing my other shoes. The staff were really helpful, informative, and kept in touch with me about the status of the repair, which I appreciated since I was overly concerned about my favorite boots. I have been sending my dry cleaning to this location for a few years now, but something about their service has recently taken a turn for the worse. For a long time, I've dealt with the usual wash and press complaints - shirts come back with unsightly wrinkles pressed into the shirts, buttons smashed, etc. - but recently I've had a couple of brand new shirts come back with bleach or dye stains. Now I have a shirt where the front pocket has been torn off! I have no idea how you even do that. This is not normal wear and tear. I can no longer risk sending my clothes to this cleaner. read more

For the past three years I've been using EverGreen Cleaners on a weekly basis - for both wash & fold, and dry cleaning - and their service has been excellent. Their pick-up's (if needed) were prompt, and they always returned the items on or before the day that they said they would. My clothes always came back looking fantastic! They're also fantastic to deal with. I very much appreciated the odd call to suggest that a particular item of clothing be cleaned/pressed in a different way, or to let me know that my wife had added an item or two to my bag that should be dry cleaned. Timely pick up and delivery but don't expect your clothes to be clean. They know how to iron shirts, but they come back dirtier, albeit perfectly pressed, than when you sent them. Bed clothes and t-shirts come back with horrific mystery stains. Avoid. You pull a shirt off a hanger to go to a wedding, you expect clean and you get grunge. read more

Well this review is not related to food, but it is, I think it should be really helpful for every new resident in LIC. When I came from Europe (France and Germany) I must say that I was quite shocked about the concept of dry cleaning in LIC. So you brought you most lovely shirts, cashmere pullovers or jackets and you get them back packed or wrapped but honestly, I was asking to myself what have they done with it? It was definitely for me a kind of joke. I was hating the fact that they were treating my beloved items has they would not understand the meaning of it. My beloved American wife just answered with "Welcome to the US". So she was wrong because we found Evergreen! They are the type of dry cleaning who understands that you love the pieces you entrust them and it is not necessary about making like but indeed exceeding your expectations To make it simple they only take care perfectly of your stuff. You miss a button they will replace it, you have a hole in your most favorite cashmere sweeter, they will fix it for you even without asking, you have a piece of garment that needs special attention, they understand and do the right thing and not only that they succeed! Combined with a great and understanding service for pick up and delivery, I must say I can not wait to get our Laundry back and feeling like each item feels like new! I can only say, try it and you feel and see the difference. And in this case I am sure that even if it is surely not the cheapest place available in LIC, it is definitely the most valuable. Clothes sometimes CAME BACK WORSE than when I sent them out: I had my work shirts laundered here weekly for over a year, along with my suits. Over time the quality of their services severely deteriorated, which was exacerbated by their terrible customer service. I had white custom dress shirts coming back with STAPLES in the actual shirt on multiple occasions and mysterious stains including a persistent brownish sludge. When I asked if they could re-clean my shirt that came back with a stain they resisted, insinuating that I had caused the stain. The point of using this service is to have my clothes come back cleaner, not dirtier with random holes. read more

They are driving me crazy... They put pins on my clothes. I did not realize it at first until one day I found several pin holes in my Dolce Gabbana skirt. Then I checked my other clothes sent for laundry before and I also found some pin holes. I cannot understand why they did not pin on somewhere like the care lable. They pinned on my clothes! Took my Ugg Boots to be cleaned... They came back much darker, The logo on the back was tattered-unlike when i first took them. There's a piece of the suede missing from the heel part. DO NOT TAKE your shoes to be cleaned there-my Uggs now look fake.. $40 later and I have worse boots then what i started with. read more

They take ample time when you come in for an alteration, and when you tack on fast service and fair prices - no brainer. From Flip Flops to Flipping Out to GET ME OUT OF HERE! I wanted my Croc Flip Flops dry cleaned, but when I picked them up they were still dirty. Dirty, as in the Streets of New York still stuck to the bottom of my Crocs, Dirty. Evergreen admitted they weren't dry cleaned like I wanted, but probably cleaned in some unspecified way by another company. At first, I requested a Redo, (heck I paid to get them cleaned already), but after sensing something was "off" with Mr. Chang of Evergreen (bald man), decided to take my dirty Crocs, and go. Then, Mr. Chang went from Flip Flops to Flipping Out. He blocked the front door with his body, and refused to let me leave - FOR TEN MINUTES - all the while he claimed my Crocs as his personal property, and insisted that he must clean them. Finally, a co - worker physically restrained Mr. Chang, and I was able to leave. The most bizarre store experience ever. read more

I've had several of my suits dry-cleaned from this place and it was okay, but recently my suit had come back dirty (smears of dirt) and lint around. I called the place just to let them know (so they could improve in the future). The person who usually answers the phone was very reluctant to accept the fact that it wasn't clean. It seemed like he was assuming I was requesting a discount, but I was not at all. He did not thank me for letting him know, or even apologize for the substandard service. We use their dry cleaning regularly up until now. Recently, I got a load of dry cleaning back that reeked of cigarette smoke. I confronted them about it and got nothing but a blank stare. I asked they re-dry clean it again. I got it back to have it smelling only vaguely less like cigarette smoke with another batch of clothes that my husband dropped off that also reeked of smoke. I had to take it elsewhere to get everything re-dry cleaned. Manager never called me, but bumped into me on the street saying he called and would call me again. Genuinely, the most unfriendly people with terrible customer service. After being a long time customer, I was informed that my account history was deleted after a "business transition" had taken place. When I went to pick up my clothing, I noticed the garments did not meet standards in its tailoring. I asked if they would fix the mistakes and they agreed. One of the garments they refused to fix because they did not believe that I had it adjusted there. I had a credit card statement proving otherwise. The front desk yelled at me in front of other people in the store as well as called me a liar, despite them admitting they deleted my account history. Ultimately, because of that one garment, they decided to call my phone 30 minutes later to tell me that they refused to fix the other garments and that I needed to go back and pick up my belongings. They informed me that the seamstress didn't like me and that she "changed her mind" about fixing the work she had done to my clothing. Lastly, they decided that they never wanted me in their store and would not provide future service, based on their feeling that "I was trouble." The most devastating experience and I have reported this company. read more

I have tried this establishment for dry cleaning or alterations. As of late, and with the inclusion of the bald guy on staff, it seems service has been questionable. I asked for a pair of pants to be hemmed and was given a specific price. When it was time to pick the pants up, the price was increased. Apparently it cost more because there was a dual layer to the pants. The man who seemed in charge (manager, owner?) asked the bald guy, "Did you give her a call, at least?" and was given a blank stare by him. I agree, in the least, they should have called me to confirm that I would still want the service performed and agree to the increased price. Fine, I paid for it and left. I returned some weeks later with another order of pants to hem. They were two of the same pair (same style, same size, same inseam length), and when I picked them up, only 1 was hemmed and the second pair was as long as when I brought it in to them. If I could give less than one star I would. SHOTTY SERVICE, THEY WILL DESTROY YOUR CLOTHES. I have never reviewed anything but my experience here was so bad that I actually added the location on Yelp just so that I could write a review and warn people about this place. I was actually pretty excited to see a "green" cleaners open in this neighborhood. I brought two items here shortly after they opened, one was a beaded silk top and the other was a silk and cashmere sweater. They have a wedding dress hanging in the window so I thought that they could handle a beaded top but I was wrong! I'll admit that the beaded top is super delicate and I was pretty I was concerned that they might not be able to clean it without damaging it. I brought this up when I was dropping off my dry cleaning and the guy behind the counter (seemed like the owner) assured me that they could do it without damaging the shirt. I asked him if he was sure twice before I left that top! This place ships your clothes to another location to have them cleaned and it was a week before I got my items back. When I picked up my cloths I immediately checked the beaded top. It had a whole right in the front on the bust line (VERY NOTICEABLE). When I pointed this out the same guy who told me that this wouldn't happen in the first place tried to tell me it was there before they cleaned it. He then asked me what I wanted him to do about it. He never offered to have it fixed, pay for the garment or even to credit my cleaning charges. When I asked him to have it fixed he said that they couldn't do it. He had already run my credit card and wouldn't give me a refund. I was so upset about the beaded top that I didn't check the sweater until I got home. When I did, I realized that they had put a huge WHOLE in the sweater too! It looked like the sleeve had gotten caught on something and was torn free and it SMELLED. I will never use this place again. Maybe they can handle a cotton shirt but but I doubt if it would actually come back clean. USE THIS PLACE AT YOUR OWN RISK! read more

Super exciting as they seem to be the only shoe repair service in LIC at the moment. Dropped off a pair of my fiance's boots to be re-heeled and a shirt for dry cleaning. They did a great job on both. I've walked by many times but did not realize they did shoe repair. The boots came out fantastic, we could not be happier and the charge was only $25 considering the boots are worth about $150. They delivered them to our apartment at no extra charge. I switched over to them from another cleaner in the neighborhood, and they were able to get out a stain in one of my dresses that the other cleaner hadn't gotten out in 2 tries. Do not use this cleaner. My wife dropped off a pair of pants and the next week I received someone else's wash and fold laundry in my bag. I called to rectify the situation and evergreen took back the wash and fold and claimed they never got my pants. When I asked how they got my dry clean bag in the first place, they claimed it was floating around their office after an old order and returned to the wrong client who then used it. Even though this explanation was basically made up, Evergreen continued to deny they ever received the pants and offered no compensation. Evergreen even tried to charge me for the other clients wash and fold they returned in my bag and did not reverse the charge until I pointed it out a month later (well after they took back the laundry). I was not looking for huge compensation for the lost pants but Evergreen offered nothing at all. Let this be a warning that if you use this cleaner you may lose your item for no compensation. read more
