Here we all are, waiting outside the pool AGAIN for Quinyh to show up. The main reason anyone comes to this pool is because of the hours... Unfortunately that doesn't mean much when the staff is late every single day (and usually rolls up with coffee). The pool is pretty clean, the facility is usually pretty dirty. The pool manager Nicole is great, but the staff being late every single day sucks, especially for people on a time limit. Wish Seattle would open another pool early so we wouldn't have to wait for staff that can't figure out how to set an alarm. Learn to wake tf up Quinyh! read more

This pool is bad the restroom was really bad. The toilet stalls lock were broken. The pool is ok but it was dirty. And the shower was awful

This is a great community pool! The locker room is big and clean, even has some curtained off changing rooms for more modest swimmers. I am taking adult swim lessons and the teacher, Rujira, is fantastic! She is very positive and upbeat, and very good at adjusting to fit different levels. I plan on signing my daughter up as well next session. read more

I was excited to have another pool option by my house, but left before I could even get started. Locker rooms have no usable lockers! They have decommissioned coin operated lockers with no keys that don't take personal locks either. The ladies in the locker room said they bring their purses, phones, wallets and stuff onto the pool deck and leave them unattended while they swim. Staff confirmed no lockers, so I left. Might work out for parents who bring their kids here to swim and can watch the stuff, but generally as an adult we don't bring buddies with us while we lap swim or exercise class. So back to the Southwest Pool up the street for me. read more

DO NOT JOIN EVERGREEN MASTERS TEAM $50 registration fee, and an outrageous $65 per month. They only have three practices a week MWF from 5:30 to 7:00. The price is not worth the limited practice times and lack of coaching. The coach has little to no background in swimming, and it is shown through the simplicity of the practice sets that were given. Was extremely disappointed with my time on the team. You would be better off getting a YMCA membership and looking up swim practices online then signing up for this team. read more

Let's be honest, your preschool age child probably isn't going to learn how to swim after his or her first set of lessons. As a parent, the goal for my child was to begin to get comfortable with being in a large body of water. With that being said, I was really outraged by what some other local pools are charging for lessons - program fees, annual registration fees, etc. Evergreen Community Aquatic Center (fka Evergreen Pool) offers affordable lessons at a variety of times that actually fit into your schedule (weekday evenings and/or Saturdays), nor do they charge you any ridiculous fees to enroll. I went ahead and decided to enroll my child for lessons. The ratio for preschool age students to instructor is 4:1, which I thought was really awesome. All of the instructors worked well with the children and were extremely patient with the ones who struggled with feeling comfortable in the water (that would be my offspring). The pool itself is clean, as well as the locker rooms, and there is an adequate amount of parking available. All in all, we were very pleased with the experience, as well as the affordable prices. When our little one decides that she is ready to give swimming lessons another go, we will definitely consider coming back. read more

This place was a HUGE disappointment on every level. Customer Service: We arrived about 15 minutes before our 20-month-old twins' lessons. The doors were locked and lights were out. Several other parents were also waiting outside. The sign indicated they weren't open until 11am despite it also listing a 10:30am class. Weird, but not a deal breaker. When the woman arrived to open the doors, it was clear she wasn't prepared for ACTUAL customers. She said, loud enough for us all to hear, "Oh, I thought it was just the swim team today." No explanation. No customer service at all. She just went inside and closed the door behind her. When she did let us in, she answered the phone and proceeded to give a long explanation about classes and schedules to the caller. At this point, she has given us ZERO information about what's happening or what to do. Do we need to check-in? Do we need to confirm our registration information? Pay? Nothing. We'd registered online, but there was no check-in, so anybody could have just come to the class for free. (Save yourself the $36 and just sneak in....it's not like they have any idea!) Still not a deal breaker...though pretty damn close. She finally says that the locker rooms are open and that we can go through to the pool. But then explains that it'll be a few minutes until the pool is ready because she has to take the covers off the pool by herself. This was more a complaint than anything else. Deal not broken...still holding out hope for an awesome teacher. The Facility: It's an old building. Who cares. The locker rooms have lockers that cost a quarter. The air blower in the men's was broken. Whatevs. I didn't pay for the locker room. I paid for the pool and the lessons. The pool was super cold. As an adult, I get that my body will acclimate, and it did. Our daughters shivered uncontrollably through most of the lesson. Deal broken? Sadly, no. The Teacher: Friendly. Nice. And I'm guessing MAYBE a sophomore in high school. I won't blame her, but I will blame her boss because it was clear she was given ZERO teaching plan to use for a 30-minute lesson. No organization. No clear idea of what was happening. The Lesson (and that's being generous with the term): There were about 5 kids in the group, which is a decent ratio. But there were no "lessons" in this. It was open swim with the teacher (for lack of a better word) basically telling each student to do random things...such as "bounce them up and down," "have them blow bubbles," "put your ear in the water," "chase this toy." DEAL BROKEN. These were not lessons in any sense of the term. The teacher probably spent a total of less than 5 minutes actually giving us anything to do with our kids. Thanks god we had a TREMENDOUS experience at a pool in California where they actually teach the students. The class does songs and movements in the water together so the kids can see each other and feel okay about going under and kicking and climbing out of the pool safely, etc. My wife and I pretty much just tried to remember everything they'd learned before and used the pool for teaching them ourselves. So we practiced their back float, kicking, climbing out of the pool, jumping in shoulders first, etc. None of which was taught here. WORST. SWIM. LESSONS. EVER. Oh...and NO refunds, so that's awesome. read more

Our son took his first Mommy and Me swim lessons here and loved it :). He had a sweet instructor who worked with the kids right at their level and made it so fun. It may not be the newest pool around but it's certainly one that serves the community the best as lessons are affordable and don't require a high-priced membership. Plus you can come year round! The ECAC has been a godsend during Covid-19. The staff has been fantastic with maintaining safety all the while staying cheerful and helpful. Lap swim has been busy but not crowded. I highly recommend those with families to get some swim time in. read more

The Evergreen Aquatic Center has a huge heart for community, and is one of the only pools in the area that offers swim lessons for children at an affordable price, and even giving discounts for parents who may not be able to afford lessons. I've had three kids in three different levels of swimming lessons here and I highly discourage parents of preschoolers from having their child take lessons here. The preschool classes hang from the side of the pool in water over their heads. In my child's class, two different children (both 3, I believe), on two different days, slipped off the wall and were completely submerged in the water. In both cases, the instructor was completely oblivious to the child flailing in the water until the parents screamed and grabbed for the kids. If you do enroll your kids in the preschool program, be prepared to stand right on the edge of the pool and watch their every move. I did speak with Shauna, the pool manager, about the kids being in over their heads and she explained to me that she chooses to not use tot docks (which would allow the kids to touch) for the preschool lessons because it is more difficult for the instructors when the kids can walk around. The other age lessons are not dangerous, but they are unorganized and not very well run. The instructors practice with one child at a time and the other kids just play around while they wait. My older kids also were often frustrated by the confusing instructions they got from their instructors and they didn't feel like they learned anything. The instructors are mostly nice enough (some not so much) but they just haven't been trained well at all compared to other pools at which my children have taken lessons. read more

I really like this pool. My son has been taking lessons here for the last few weeks and we as a family have really enjoyed them. The facility is always clean and the front desk staff is friendly. The preschool/toddler instructors are amazing. They really help young children feel comfortable, especially if it's their first experience in the pool. I would recommend the pool to everyone of any age. read more

The official name is "Evergreen Community Aquatic Center." My child is in a group swim class here, and it's amazing. Small teacher-to-student ratio, wonderful instructors, and they get the kids in the pool right away while making them feel secure and comfortable. It's awesome that the Evergreen pool has different options depending on your needs. Swim lessons for kids, open swim for families, water exercise classes, and a specific time for lap swimming. Their hours and prices are great. It's really nice to see that they have swim lessons for families who might not be able to afford full price too.
