There's a small window when you can enjoy Henry Moses. It was fun. My kids enjoyed the slide, wave pool. The lazy river could be better but that's okay. The lockers are plentiful. For a group of 3, it was almost $50. It is better than wild waves but not much better than other pools, I feel like. There was a long line to get in but it moved fast. The kids played till about 6pm. The kids have to be a certain height to use the slides. My little one was disappointed. Parking was easy cuz I got there early. Lifeguards were on duty and paying attention. read more

Henry Moses is a great little "mini" water park -- perfect for my 1.5 year old who is not quite ready for a "big" water park but loves the water. There was also plenty for adults to enjoy! There's a shallow pool area, a larger/deeper pool with lap swimming available, the wave pool, a small lazy river, and a surprisingly fun set of 2 big water slides. There were a LOT of lifeguards around making sure everyone followed the guidelines. I found the locker and changing rooms to be impressively clean. We will be back! read more

A real mixed bag for us. Highlights: - The wave pool was really amazing. It was my first time with one and reminded me of how much I miss body surfing and ocean beaches. I would kinda go back just for that except some of the teenagers around me were doing this disconcerting flirting play that involved, how can I say this? pretending to drown each other. Is that a TikTok thing? Anyway. The wave pool was mostly great. - The staff, who were very young, were alert and pleasant and doing their best. - The lazy river tubes were neat! Lowlights: - the lazy river forces you to be drenched in cold water every time you go around which my daughter hated - one of the dirtiest women's locker rooms I've ever been in. The wet floor had a of ton of hair on it. - tiny lockers that needed quarters to lock. It would taken us 8 lockers and 2 bucks in quarters (plus a hassle) to lock up our two beach bags. - way too loud, for example super loud music ... why? We couldn't understand each other. Really nice visit for the family at the end of summer. We had always seen it but never actually gone. After years we decided to make it to the pool. The good: The staff is younger and nice and doing their best to help everyone and keep people safe. No running so keep an eye on your little ones. The lazy river is smaller but still fun for the family. There is a big wading area and small slide for the little ones and the wave pool is just the right size for the family if all ages. They have floats that you can use for the little ones as they don't allow floaties just life vests. Slides at great fun and they manage them well. You don't need a tube for either slide but can use one for the bigger slide. Several life guards around for safety. You can bring your own food and enjoy the time there. There are two time slots of 3 hours but you only need that amount of time before you are ready to leave. Improvements Getting into the pool is a bit of a hassle. You have to go onto their site to get a reservation as they limit it to a certain number of people per day and sell out. The site is through Renton and a bit clunky but after you book you also need to show up about 30 mins prior to get in line. They do a height check for the slides and mark wrist bands for the littlest ones. Not really necessary and could easily just be a different band color when you purchase online. read more

I decided I wanted to jump back into lap swimming this summer and was looking around nearby community centers & clubs to join then noticed that Henry Moses Aquatic Center has outdoor space for lap swims some evenings. I was looking for a place thats nearby, reasonable rate, and has swimming options that work with my schedule. Ive been to this area for friends' sports tournaments and work meetings at the nearby Carco Theatre and thought the kids slide area looked so fun! Getting a pass for the summer for Renton residents is $60 for adults ($7 for one visit) & I purchased mine online before heading in. They gave me a key card which helps get through the gate with ease among in and out traffic. The pool is generally a little smaller and warmer because it is a recreation pool yet the amenities are pretty well maintained (swimming supplies, locker rooms) and the staff is pretty helpful and kind. I saw some people reviewing that the cleanliness is a factor for them and i haven't observed anything similar yet do know that if you are wary of this or plan on visiting, it is a community pool, and like many others, things do happen on occasion especially with water and youth is concerned. The kids area is separate from the water aerobics and lap pool area so im not sure if that helps but seems the staff is on it to resolve if a situation may happen. Otherwise the lap swims, lane lines are put out, & they try to make it a fun environment with music in the background! read more

We had so much fun at open swim. It's a bit confusing on how to buy tickets online and whether or not they sell in person (I guess in 2023 you can but last year you couldnt). There are plenty of life guards watching the two waterslides, lazy river, splash park, wave pool and big lap swim pool. $8 for kids and $16 for adults. There is free parking but no discount for Renton residents. Note the concession stand is limited to forgotten sundry items and packaged snacks like chips and popsicles. read more

This is a smaller Wild Waves, easier to get in and out of if you're in the neighborhood. Only difference is that you can't stay here the entire day, there's timed sessions. I guess I can't complain for the convenience of getting here and the cheaper price, there's different pricing for Renton and non-Renton residents. I think it's probably great for parents to meet other local parents as it's probably a curated audience coming here so most likely if your kids get along with somebody, they most likely live close by vs going to Wild Waves where every body is just coming from every where and you're most likely never going to see people again (could be good for some instance, lol). Definitely geared for smaller kids but be aware that kids can't go on the big slides unless they're 48" and barefoot. My kiddos were bummed. Also, the wave pool was closed when we were there. Honestly, I enjoy this place more than the Great Wolf Lodge (GWL) because it has the things my kids love the most about GWL (wave pool and big water slide), but without spending a fortune. Despite being in Renton and run by the city, its extremely clean and well maintained. In fact, during COVID it has been amazing because they limit the number of people so more obnoxious crowds and messes from lazy / rude people. We've done birthday parties and taken our friends (who are germaphobes) and they've loved it too. A real treasure in Renton - IF you can get a ticket. It just gets worse each year for lap swimmers. Won't be long before we are completely shunted out of the lap pool entirely. It's gone from a measly hour with lifeguards needing 15 minutes to change from open swim to lap swim to what I thought was going to be a great 90 minutes in the pool, but no. Two lanes? Really? Plus it's not even managed for different speeds....really ridiculous considering the lack of pools in the area, more so in the summer. Absolutely disappointed with this. Anyone who's interested in using this park and reserving a spot for an event should be aware that they have a no refund policy. Even if you give them plenty of notice (10 days in my case) because you're not able to use your reservation, they won't issue a refund. This seems unfairly harsh given the times we are living in with people getting covid19. A little bit of compassion and understanding would go a long way here. They do not have this no refunds policy mentioned in their checkout process; you're expected to read a paragraph below the link used to book. If you don't scroll down and read this paragraph, you will be surprised when you are not able to get a refund. And when the booking costs $275, not getting a refund hurts. We made reservations for a Saturday afternoon open swim session and we're pleasantly surprised at how the experience went. We love the limited number of people allowed right now and it was easy to check in and get our wristband. Make sure you fill out your health screening survey ahead of time or have your smartphone with you to fill it out there. We found spots in the shade to claim as ours and then headed to the lazy river first. It is small but a nice relaxing float. The lap pool is great but it was pretty warm when we were there. Older kids will love the wave pool and water slides and toddlers will love the play area. We'll definitely be back with our little one next summer. read more

We just visited for the first time and were so impressed. The online reservations are confusing, Open Swim = use all of the waterpark (I thought it meant play in a lap pool, I was wrong). The staff is young and so friendly, lifeguards are everywhere and very attentive. If you want life jackets, you can bring your own or they will supply them to you totally free of charge. Lockers cost a quarter. Lounge chairs are everywhere at no cost. We came on a Friday afternoon, left work a touch early. I'm not sure what the weekends look like in terms of busyness, but our weekday visit was just the right number of people. Both of our kids (2 and 3 years old) loved the wading pool and the shallow end of the wave pool. They were iffy about the lazy river but I think they'll love it next year. The 2 big slides are only open to older kids, but that was nice bc there weren't many of them in the wading pool creating chaos for the Littles. Renton, you continue to impress! The pool, deck, showers and restrooms are never clean. Dirt settled to the bottom never removed from last year. The dirt brown ring on the walls is a few inches taller. Tiles missing last year are still missing this year. Pool is overcrowded, chairs are extremely limited and grounds aren't kept up. Really terrible look for the city of Renton. read more

Well!.... A Fun place with limitations. I was with two 4yo... so, we LOVED the 'kiddie pool' and enjoyed the fringes of the wave pool... but really we're not old enough for anything else. The facility did not open until 12: noon--- which is late... and the high price is for a limit of 4 hours. ( my two usually have naps during the afternoon... so we had to make exceptions to accommodate the hours). They DO allow your own food. Bathroom facilities were so-so... at least they had them. Over-all too much money for what is offered. Not open long enough during the day.... I'd like to see them open at 9am. And it would be nice to have 'family' changing rooms. Private changing rooms. And though there was tons of seating.... In fact walk to wall seating.... It was really hard for me yo get in and out between the chaise loungers. read more

We visited this summer on a Friday and were sad that concessions were not open for snacks. Other than that, the facility is well kept and there were lots of workers around to monitor the kids. In my opinion, the summer camp kids made the space a bit crowded and lacked some supervision. A great place for kids (and adults) to chill in the water for a few hours. I like that they limit people for each session so it's not overly crowded and you can get tickets online ahead so you don't have to wait in line in the hot weather. We were there last Wednesday and they had fired wood pizza - very reasonable price, $5 a slice, $25 for whole pizza. As a resident of Renton, I thought the pricing was well worth the visit ($8 for residents over 5 years old). I ended up buying a Season Pass which guarantees entry. I love the idea of not having to wait in line only to be potentially turned away. Everyone lines up outside before the set session (session #1 from 12p - 3:30p / session #2 from 4:00 - 7:30p). Presale admission starts 30 min before each session but if you want to make sure you get in, line up earlier than that. They limit headcount each session. Season Pass holders line up separately, check in at the Season Pass desk to get a wristband and pay for any of their guests, then get back in line for entry. While waiting a few very helpful staff walk around to help answer questions, measure the kids for the waterslide, etc. I suspect the Regular Admission line is somewhat similar in process. While you wait for the gates to open, you can see over 2-3 dozen lifeguards (all appeared to be very mature college age kids) cleaning chairs, disinfecting surfaces, straightening/scrubbing. Super organized crew. The place was *spotless* when we finally entered. When the session opens, there's a mad rush (from both gates) of parents rushing to claim shaded lounge chairs. Slow(er) arrivals end up in a chair under direct sun or on the lawn. Some planned for the lawn by bringing their own beach blankets. Turned out to be a nice sunning spot if you're okay not having perfect line-of-sight of the pools. Lots of people brought personal coolers, groceries, etc. Wave pool: much smaller than Great Wolf but bigger waves. The waves cycle on and off (not sure why), but when they're on see everyone rushes over. Spray Area and Toddler Area: Adjacent to each other. Kids can climb up a structure and dump water on each other, spray people, etc. Lifeguards galore. Lazy River: Not lengthy at all, but everyone in it seemed incredibly happy to be in it. It moved smoothly. No roadblocks of kids. Water slides: Didn't try them, but heard kids loved them. Concessions: Great pricing. $2.50 for a decent hotdog. $1.75 for a fountain drink. $1 chips. Even had Ivar's Chowder and ice cream. Or be like the majority and bring your own food. Locker rooms: The women's changing room was large with benches and hooks and a group shower area. Lockers (25 cents to rent) were located outside. They have family restrooms although I didn't see if they had showers in them. About 15 min before the session ends they announce things that are closing so everyone is aware. Overall, we had a GREAT experience. It didn't feel overly crowded although I believe they maxed their headcount (went on a Thursday afternoon, 85 and sunny). The sheer number of lifeguards was incredible. Cool off away from the huge crowd! This waterpark was built just a few years ago by the City of Renton to accomodate 900 people, but they only let in 650 per session, so there's plenty of elbow room for everybody. It has always been completely non-smoking and there are lots of lifeguards so you can let your kids run wild (a bit). Best of all, moms, sessions are 3.5 hours long and then they throw everybody out! No more super-overtired meltdowns and you are not the bad guy! Did I mention how inexpensive this park is? Ages 4 and under: Free Resident Youth 5-12: $4.00 Non-resident Youth 5-12: $6.00 Resident Teen 13-17: $5.00 Non-resident Teen 13-17: $8.00 Resident Adult: $6.00 Non-resident Adult: $12.00 Resident Senior (55 and older): $5.00 Non-resident Senior (55 and older): $6.00 So let's see... instead of the $96 we spent taking the three of us to Wild Waves (including parking), it would cost us (non-residents of Renton) $30 to get in... parking is free. Oh, and lockers are free (or a quarter, I can't remember), none of this $9 nonsense and waiting in line like at Wild Waves. There are two water slides, a small lazy river type thing (tubes are free), a lap pool, a toddler splash area, and a big wave pool (not as big as Wild Waves, but totally adequate). The snack bar is good and it's cheap. It was like $2 for a hot dog and I think either $1 or $1.50 for a soda... compare that to Wild Waves' $3.50 bottled soda! The park is impressively clean as are the restrooms/changing areas. You can rent one of two party areas ahead of time, allowing you some shade, private tables, and the ability to bring in your own food/drink. We did this for my daughter's birthday; the $180 for our area and admission of 25 guests seemed like a true bargain and everyone had a great time. Group rentals must be arranged ahead of time in person at the community center across the parking lot from the waterpark. You can also go there to purchase discounted tickets for groups. This place is a great mostly-undiscovered treasure! On hot days, do make sure you get there at least half an hour before the sessions start because they do sell out sometimes. The sessions run from 12-3:30 and 4-7:30 each day in the summer until September 4th. read more

My kids ADORE this water park! I just wish we had one like it in Redmond. We come here once or twice a summer. It's not as inexpensive as it used to be for non-residents, but it's still a great value. We only will come on a weekday, and we're there early to be assured entry and a decent seat. I like how it's always spotless. There are a ton of lifeguards and they're always attentive. I like how you can bring in a cooler, but the prices of food and drinks here are reasonable. My kids LOVE the slides, the wave pool, the lazy river, and ... everything here. It's a great family outing but, again, I'd strongly recommend coming early and mid-week. read more

I was here last weekend for a birthday party for my nephews and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. Now granted, you are in Renton and it is a aquatic center so it's definitely not a water theme park in CA or FL. But.. considering you paid 1/8 the cost of a theme park and yet it offered a lazy river (yes it was small but still it was available) and a 'wading pool' for toddlers & small kids and then a 'wave' pool for the bigger kids AND a lap pool for the same low price of $8 was kind of a steal. There was one point where the toddler pool had to closed for quite a while (I would guess almost 2 hours) as 'something' was in the water. I'm going to guess it was vomit or someone had left a floater in the pool. Even though I was a little annoyed since it was right when we were trying to get in; I appreciate them trying to make sure it was totally clean and sanitized before letting people get back in. They have a little food stand for those who want an extra something (ice cream, snacks, etc) but I did love that you could bring in your own food and drinks and most people did. The parking was all free and they do strictly enforce the session times. We got there early and had to literally wait until 4pm before being allowed in even though we had booked a private party and wanted to set up. Will not be coming to this establishment ever again from the moment we walked in I felt as if we were targeted with racism. My children couldn't wear certain life jackets as they were deemed as 'too big' and my daughter was brought over to me yet when a girl the same size as her was wearing one that looked like it would fit an adult they said nothing at all. I was told my one year old couldn't wear a swim diaper with nothing over it and he wouldn't be able to wear Jean shorts over it in which we had as well yet half of the people in the park were wearing them. When I spoke with staff about this all I got in return was rotten attitudes and refusal for a refund. Very upsetting! read more

The fish school here is terrific way for little non-swimmers to get introduced to the water and swimming lessons. I signed our kids up for an introductory four lesson short session this year. The staff here are friendly and patient and are very good with young ones. Our two toddlers are very comfortable without mom and dad in the water with them. The ratio of teachers to students for the little kids' class is two kids for each one instructor and they teach in smaller sized groups. Lessons are about 30 minutes. This is a great way for parents and kids to determine which class is appropriate for their skill level and also explore if the kids have the maturity and patience to learn new skills without having a longer-term commitment. It seems the pool is well laid out with a lot of lockers for your gear and a lot of deck chairs to sit around the perimeter of the pool. During regular sessions of open swim, I have heard parking nearby can be an issue and transit service is generally nil. If you aren't afraid of a short walk, there is usually parking not far away on the west side of I-405 closer to Renton Library, Liberty Park, and Mill or Main Avenues. As far as features at the pool goes, there's a snack bar, wave pool, lap pool, float "river", spray zone (like a "big toy" in the shallow water), and a water slide. There's really something for everyone at this place. I just wish the pool was designed as a indoor-outdoor pool so it could be enjoyed year-round. It's an outdoor pool that only opens in summer months. If you're trying to find this place, it's next to the Renton Community Center and Carco Theater just off of SR 169, east of I-405. The old Henry Moses Pool was on the opposite side of I-405 from where it is now.
