I reached out to another business and asked on a Tuesday if two medals I had could be engraved for an 8th-grade graduation by Thursday (today). I was told yes. Long story short, the business was unresponsive and admitted they hadn't started the job when I called to follow up today. I told them to forget it and I'd come and get the medals later. I called Krefeld's. First--my call was answered immediately. I wish I would have gotten a name, but I failed to do so. The gentleman was polite and told me there was still hope. I could get the medals today. Second--I got there, he reviewed the medals, and the engraver got started. The medals were finished in under 30 minutes. I will never go anywhere else. I chose the other location for convenience and it was a bust. Folks--trust Krefeld's, but also remember to plan ahead. I got LUCKY, but I don't recommend you wait until the last minute. Before coming to this shop I was doing some research and had called John and a few other businesses to inquire about engraving services that I needed for 6 gold compact mirrors I wanted to be personalized with names for my maid of honor, bridesmaids, and myself. I visited All Star Awards last Monday where John and I spent about 10 minutes discussing specific details such as font, size, and placement of the names, and pricing. However, I ended up leaving to my car to compare my options. I have never had anything personally engraved before and had no idea that coating and material of the product can affect the quality of the engraving, but I decided to take my chance with John because he was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain the process to me. On Friday that same week, he called me back and told me my mirrors were ready to be picked up! I was surprised at the quick turnover and I told John that I wanted to pick them up right after finishing work in the city at 4:00 because I'll be proposing to my MOH this weekend regardless of whether or not I receive the mirrors. However, I'd be arriving late due to traffic (He closes at 5pm and he's closed on the weekends). He told me not to worry and that he'll wait for me. I ended up leaving at 4:20 and driving there took about an hour. When I arrived, he presented me with the finished compact mirrors and they were exactly what I had envisioned!! They were so beautiful and I am so glad I decided to get one engraved for myself too! John spent a lot of time helping me find what I needed, since my type of job usually requires special order numbers. But he was able to find spare numbers up in his stock room. I chatted him up, and he seemed very knowledgeable about the different services he provides, from silkscreening to embroidery. While this whole process took a bit of time, I fortunately wasn't in a rush. Prices weren't cheap, but I didn't think they were exorbitant either. They lasted about about 4 weeks and we were so pleased with the quality and how long they stayed for. So when Valentine's Day came around, he decided to naturally choose Ah Sam's again for a bouquet. I ended up going with him as he wanted me to choose the color this time and see all the varieties (I'm a big flower girlie). They were obviously busy with it being Valentine's Day, I chose a bouquet that was on the floor displayed. I ended up wanting it in a small arrangement because the vase they were in was extremely large with a lot of extra not necessary greenery. Of which they happily downsized the vase. The two down sides were that we actually brought back the 2 large vases that were used for the proposal to downsize. They didn't even consider giving a slight discount for returning the vases and better yet, when we asked them to downsize the bouquet we got, the worker said the price would remain the same at $250. I let all of this slide and accepted the new downsized roses at that price and allowed them to take the two larger vases off of our hands. Sadly lees then a week later, these $250 downsized roses have completed wilted & are dying. A much different experience compared to the gorgeous roses I had received during my proposal. Over all very disappointed in how they handled the vase swap and rose downsizing with no thought into maybe giving us a slight discount. But now with the roses already dying just a week later, I would find better quality roses at my local Trader Joe's for $15 a bouquet.

I think that another thing to call out is how they handle things if something goes wrong. Recently, there was a delivery date mixup and an arrangement was delivered a day early. I called Granara's and the manager drove over himself to pick them up before my wife saw them. They delivered an even nicer arrangement the next day. I contrast this with a florist we used to deliver flowers to relatives out of state. The flowers never arrived, and the shop owner fought it, didn't help at all, and I finally had to get a credit card refund. Today I had a large, mixed arrangement delivered. Ordering something other than roses really highlights how impressive a job Granara's does. The mix of orchids and other flowers really pops - totally worth the money! Granara's delivers top quality arrangements with great service, support, and delivery. I've used others in the area and no one else comes close.
