Wait times here are horrible to see the doctor. You too wait one hour, with no one checking in on you to tell you that the doctors running late or anything. I can't believe that such rude behavior is tolerated toward patients. read more

UPDATE: I originally took this review down because the clinic had made it sound like if I remove it they would schedule surgery. But turns out if you complain at all, they just simply refuse to take on a client. So reposting my review. (They refused me and said they would send a referral for another doctor but never did but I wasn't going to take their suggestion anyway. I found a much better doctor on my own and already got a surgery date). Here is my honest review. : I would avoid this place at all costs. Their surgery scheduler, Holly, is the absolute worse. You have to leave 3-4 messages and then you'll get a response after week. I had a consult with Dr. Chung and he assured me that his scheduler would call me in a few days to get me scheduled for my crosslinking surgery. However, no one called for 5 weeks and when holly finally decided to call she told me sorry they're booked out for the entire year and there's no date they could get me in at all and hung up. They also charged my insurance $700 for a consult that was 10 mins and no follow up steps was taken. It's clear they are busy and only taking consults and wasting patience's time to make a profit. read more

Evergreen Eye Center is THE patient centered eye care for cataract treatment. I took my 91 year old mom there after hearing their ad on the radio. We saw Dr. Chung. After her thorough appt., instead of recommending surgery, he referred her to a retinal specialist because he found that she had macular degeneration. So it's been over a month since I got my lasik done. Dr Nicholson was amazing! From my first complementary visit to see if I was a candidate to my last post op visit. Every step of the way they have been on top of my care! I had a slight freak out during the procedure and he did a great job at keeping me calm! I really appreciated how he wanted to make sure my eyes were stable enough to get the procedure. Instead of just accepting my money and hoping for the best. He also was great at giving me informed info on both procedures and recommending lasik for me. Everyone I met was super nice, friendly and helpful. I highly recommend going and doing a complementary visit to see if you are a candidate with dr Nicholson! read more

If I could give The Evergreen Eye Center a negative star, I would. My mother went to see Dr. Gary Chung, his office's billing practice is HORRENDOUS. They bill their patients erroneously and refuses to refund ANYTHING until someone else's pays. My mother is 70 years old and does not speak English well enough to communicate with the physician's office and requires an interpreter. She has dual insurance coverage both through Medicare and then Medicaid. She receives a few bills from them for a $87 balance. Let me remind you, she has state assistance, she should NEVER be billed for anything, EVER. As a good patient, she sends in her payment and tells me she does not want to return to this office again because she usually never gets billed when she sees other doctors. I call their office and speak with their billing department; specifically to Christy, the billing department supervisor. She proceeds to inform me that it was a mistake that she was billed at all. They have a new system, blah blah blah. Christy continues to (repeatedly) inform me, my 70 year old mother who is on a fixed income, whom they've illegally charged, will not be refunded her money until Medicaid pays them. Does this sound like the kind of office you'd like to be in charge of your mother's (or your own) care? If they don't care about how they treat their patients financially, how do you think your medical care would be? I would definitely think twice before going to this clinic for treatment solely based on their billing practices. Unless, of course, you've got nothing but free time to call them or extra money to give away. If they're ok with cheating a 70 year old woman out of almost a $100 ... what would make you different? read more

My experience with Evergreen Eye Center... Dr Brice Nicholson was beyond my expectations. I am 59 yr old.... I wore contacts and glasses since i was 16 yrs old. I have been given back the gift of 20/20 vision.. and the procedure was easy... and painless! I had cataracts removed, and lasik as well. I am amazed every morning i wake up and can see so perfectly. I was in a bit of an accident that almost cost me my left eye. From the start Dr. Chung and his staff went above and beyond to provide fast and helpful service. My first visit with him was on his day off, on the recommendation of the emergency physician I saw right after the accident. Due to some complications from the accident he not only saw me on another one of his days off, he also scheduled emergency after hours surgery for me. It's rare that you find a doctor that dedicated to the health and recovery of their patients. I am happy to report, the accident was a little over a week ago and I am already getting my sight back. The doctors themselves are great but their scheduling system or operational flow definitely needs some work. For busy professionals- don't think that a post op appointment will be quick. Even with numbing drops, a quick pressure test, and seeing the doc for follow-up... (For about 5-10 minutes max of actual time with a doctors assistant and doctor)...well over an hour now and still waiting around twiddling my thumbs... read more

Ok... so my Optometrist thought I might have a thing with eye pressure going on so she recommended me to Evergreen Eye Center and Dr. Nicholson. Ambaum. Been past there thousands of times. I found that my lenses were clouded, macular degeneration, etc. My visit with Dr. Nicholson was informative beyond my wildest dreams. I scheduled it. Cataract removal and lens replacement. Happens out at their Federal Way location. Let me put it this way...from my first visit ever throughout the two eye surgery process each and every person I encountered at Evergreen Eye Center was the best. I always felt like a person....never a patient, or a number. The experience(s) I've had with Evergreen Eye Center is the best medical experience I've ever had in my life. Dr Gary Chung, I had the most wonderful experience with my cataracts removed in his Federal Way office. He and his entire staff are true professionals every step of the way. Everything is explained thoroughly and all your questions are answered. I cannot singel anyone in particular because they all are epxtremely helpfully. Easy to get to location with plenty of parking is a plus. Again I cannot thank Dr Chung and his staff enough. I must add I had some post op work at his Burien office and it was a pleasant experience. I have been a patient of Dr. Day at Evergreen for several years and finally I have decided to call it quits. Dr. Day is excellent but everything else about the Eye Center is horrible. The tech who did my last vision test gave me an RX that was so far off the folks at Lenscrafters asked me if I had had major eye surgery. The glasses were like looking through a kaleidoscope. I went back and a different ophthalmologist did a vision exam personally and was shocked at how bad a job the tech had done. Then, I requested a copy of the RX for distance part of my progressives to get a pair of single-vision lenses made. Of course, Evergreen sent the original faulty numbers and I had another kaleidoscopic experience. Every time I have been in to the office in Burien the waiting area has been full of annoyed patients who have been made to wait for up to 2 hours beyond their scheduled appointment start time. The women behind the desk seem completely unwilling to help in any way...I saw an elderly woman there waiting who had been dropped off by a car service and didn't know what to do when it was almost time for her pick-up hours later and she had still not been seen. The receptionists wouldn't even allow her to use the phone to try to delay her ride. Customer service seems to be deteriorating across the board these days, and Evergreen Eye Center is leading the pack on the road to complete incompetence. read more

I went to see Dr. Chung one year ago for an eye exam and found him to be warm, caring, personable and intelligent. Even though the office is busy, Dr. Chung takes all the time in the world to care for you. I would highly recommend Evergreen for your eye care needs. read more

I recently had my second annual eye exam at the Burien location. I was seen by Dr. Brice Nicholson both last year and this year. I paid them a well earned compliment of my experiences last year and this year at their location. I found all employees extremely efficient and professional. The office was clean and the equipment was sanitized before I was examined. I am a retired nurse, having worked full time for the past 45 years, from the NE to the Florida Keys, Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Denver, Co. and on to the great Northwest. I found all of the employees pleasant and knowledgeable at the Evergreen Eye Center. I do not give compliments easily though this facility is well deserving of the best rating in care. I so appreciate each of the employees who I came in contact with especially Evonka, Dr. Nicholson and his transcriber. I've had complicated eye problems in the past, being treated by a Neuro Ophthalmologist at the University of Colorado for a number of years as well having worked with patients who had some of the earlier lens implants in Miami, Fl. at the Bascom-Palmer eye institute. I am very pleased with my experiences at the Burien Evergreen Eye Center. I know what should and shouldn't be. This Facility is tops! read more
