Emplo told me I had to have the funeral at their chapel and I had to buy the headstone from them. Fortunately, my sister in law told me to call another place. I called Newcomer and they told me only thing Memorial Garden has to do is the actual burial. We went with Newcomer. They were half the price and we had a wonderful service. Do not let this establishment play on your emotions. They should be ashamed of themselves.

If I had been given the time I would've chosen a cheaper funeral home. This wasn't the fault of Newcomers though. Price was the main reason for the 3 stars. I also had an issue where the attendant made a joke about my dad's unique hobbies. My dad had an eclectic collection of interests, yes they were humorous, but I felt that it was poor taste poking even a tiny joke during such a delicate period of life. When I picked up his ashes they placed his urn in a reusable shopping bag. The desk staff told me to hold the bag from the bottom because we don't want him falling out the bottom. Another poor humor, during a time when im holding my dead daddys ashes. Humor was not appreciated

So many things have changed because of the Covid-19 Pandemic and one of them is how some funeral…read moreservices are handled. My wife lost one of her Aunts. She was a beautiful alert lady who lived to be 101. When her family told us about the arrangements for her service we were surprised to hear they were going to have a "drive-by" service. We had no idea what to expect as were drove in the parking lot and saw a short line off cars going past the front of the building with the family all standing outside. As we approached the family greeted us, all wearing masks and social distancing. They opened two large glass doors for us to get a clear view of the open casket. We exchanged words with the family and then drove off. It was clearly one of the most unusual services we've ever attended and certainly not like any previous ones we've attended.

Heady-Hardy was a furniture shop many years ago and it is huge inside, containing 3 floors, chapel,…read morekitchens and visitation areas. My family has used Heady-Hardy several times and as a large family we've had plenty of room to visit with one another and friends stopping in. While they charge for the drinks, they've built in a soda fountain in the kitchen. (Anyone that's toted in multiple 2-liters to a funeral home will understand ... it's odd what cheers you up during sad moments). Recently we used the chapel for my cousin's service. With multiple rows of pews it does provide a nice experience that chairs around the room doesn't accomplish. The staff were really good to my family and managed a small video and favorite songs during the service. They also gave us ample time to say goodbye and spend a few extra minutes with family members that had traveled to town. I grew up in the south end ... each time I come back to this part of town to honor a family member, it feels a bit more personal and sincere at the family owned funeral homes there. Most of us never leave Dixie Highway but the feeling extends back to us even when we do.

Bethany is a medium sized yet crowded cemetery located on Dixie Highway smack Dab next to the gene…read moreSnyder expressway entrance. I've been here a few times in my life. Earliest I can remember is burying a high school friend and most recently we buried my father in law here. The grounds and plots are on top of each other. Not much greenery our pretty scenery surrounds it. Being next to the expressway makes for lots of noise and debris. During my father in laws it was very hard to here the service as he is pretty close to the Snyder expressway ramp. The grounds does have a couple cool sculptures on the road way including one of a Bible verse. Overall, it is a solid spot. Not very cemetery can be high end and if I had to guess the cemetery may have been there before the expressway. I could be wrong though. Either way it's a boise factor and logistical nightmare. At my high school friends funeral there literally was a wreck and at my father I. Laws a person barreling off the exit almost wrecked into us. So it was almost 2 for 2 on accidents in funeral processions I've attended here.

The general manager and T J have went above and beyond being helpful and are getting my issues taken care of in a timely manner. They have been nothing but super nice and caring.
