I was very skeptical at first the outside does not look like a funeral home to me. It looks like a mini mart where an Aldis, Valu mart or cvs would of been. However on the inside while smaller it is pretty nice. Solid decor with two areas and two separate kitchens. Inside where the bodies are on display for visitation ks very large and spacious so that's nice. Kitchens are smaller but I think I like the bigger Visitation and smaller kitchen setup. While I did not partake in the choosing or setting up of this I will say the workers here were all very nice and consolable for my mother in law and wife in their time. They did what they could to meet there needs. The only snafu is on the placard entering the visitation they put Johnny instead of John for the name and made him a jr. everywhere else it was correct. I quickly noticed it before any one arrived and I got with a worker who promptly fixed it and apologized. Quit enough to where it was a no harm no foul situation. One of the things they did that I loved was my father in law served in the Air Force. So during his whole visitation and funerals they flew the Air Force flag up high right with the American flag on there parking lot flag pole. So that was a cool and nice gesture. Overall this is a solid place to have a funeral. Granted I didn't participate in the choosing but from what I was told they are a cheaper funeral home. Which is nice to have an affordable place that can still offer nice viewing areas. Nobody likes to review a funeral home. And I wish I could review this one under better circumstances. But there was nothing here that happened that would keep me from recommending using this place. It's a nice affordable option.

Thankfully their team made the process a bit more bearable in arranging details not previously planned and within the budget. Some decisions are especially hard and overwhelming but there wasn't pressure to make quick decisions. All spaces, including the kitchen areas, are kept clean and tidy to welcome family and friends. Our family was also treated with respect during visitation and funeral services. Much appreciation.

My family has used Heady-Hardy several times and as a large family we've had plenty of room to visit with one another and friends stopping in. While they charge for the drinks, they've built in a soda fountain in the kitchen. (Anyone that's toted in multiple 2-liters to a funeral home will understand ... it's odd what cheers you up during sad moments). Recently we used the chapel for my cousin's service. With multiple rows of pews it does provide a nice experience that chairs around the room doesn't accomplish. The staff were really good to my family and managed a small video and favorite songs during the service. They also gave us ample time to say goodbye and spend a few extra minutes with family members that had traveled to town. I grew up in the south end ... each time I come back to this part of town to honor a family member, it feels a bit more personal and sincere at the family owned funeral homes there. Most of us never leave Dixie Highway but the feeling extends back to us even when we do.

From the outside the shop had several outfits in the windows and lit up by lights. Nice outfits too as people are thinking of spring events. Inside was not as impressive. Like other shops you'll find clothing, shoes and accessories. I looked through a few racks and most had various price tags. Along the walls we found books, kitchen accessories and home decor. I was hoping to see more home decor and small items but they were a bit slim. Pricing also didn't have me making spur of the moment splurges. Service was friendly and we checked out quickly. They keep several branded items and clothing along the walls for purchase. If you want to promote Shirley's Way, the items are quality brands. We'd stop by again when in the area. One never knows what might be found.

From the moment we called them (on a Sunday afternoon) they were incredibly and graciously responsive and continued to be so during the cremation process. Abby at Magnolia was very available for the various questions we had and made sure to let us know what other ways they could help us in regards to hosting the obituary to ordering death certificates. I hope I don't need to use them for a very long time, but when the time comes, I will definitely use Magnolia and recommend your family does as well.

Owen handled my father's funeral last month and they were very warm and professional to work with…read more The minister talked to me and my children before the service throughout the morning to learn more about my father and using the things we told him he made an excellent funeral service and we were able to remember the many funny times we had with dad. I told him also about this song my dad always sang being silly "You'll never find..." and the minister knew right away that it was Lou Rawls. A while later they found me in the visitation and he called me to his office and he wanted to play the song for me. He had it on hand! He asked me if I wanted him to play it while we were exiting the service and I said yes! It was perfect. He even made me a copy of it to take home with me. These folks are wonderful. They also handled my grandmother's death in 2012 and I remember them being excellent then as well.

Yvonne was my funeral director handling every detail for my mother's service recently. She provided excellent customer service, helping me with all the minute details such as: - coordinating all details of the transportation of the body from PA to KY with PA funeral home - death certificates - obituary notice - visitation service - funeral service (every last detail including music/picture video/coordination of gathering at a restaurant afterwards) - burial and coordination with cemetery I cannot say enough good things about Yvonne and the staff at Owen Funeral Home. It does make a difference that they're family owned and operated. And, I might add, my mother's preparations were all handled via phone and email as I lived out of state. Again, every aspect was handled with care and respect to both my deceased parents and to my family. And, we are so very thankful for this during a stressful time.
