The post office in Evergreen Park wouldn't accept my packages because there was a long line. I was mailing 150 packets for work. I was told I could send eight packets, but if someone else came in, I would have to go to the back of the line! There was a older black woman with glasses and a white man with red hair and a beard. First I admit it's my fault I did not get a receipt but because the line was so long, a worker asked if there's anybody just wanting to drop off a package with no receipt. Thinking since this is the post office it should be safe. Nope, my package never got to the destination. I lost $125.00. The shoes never made it to the destination. So, I consider this incident a learning situation. Make sure you do not leave a package here without a receipt unless you want to throw money away. read more

I am disabled and at this location there are always the same 2 cars parked in the only handicapped spaces which leads me to believe they belong to an employee. On 2/9/2025 I entered this facility at 5:44 PM (I had my phone out with a QR Code for shipping so that was the exact time) to drop off 2 packages that require postage only. I was told that the gentleman in front of me (only 3 people in line) was the cutoff and to leave. I had to take my packages back to my car which is almost a block away, in pain, just so I can try this again tomorrow. This place is filthy. The carpeted mats are always dirty and the once beautiful Terrazzo floor looks like it has t been mopped in years. The counters are cracked, there are loose communication wires hanging from ceiling and the computer system is sometimes down. I expected more from USPS. Now all of my business (about $10,000 per year in shipping) is going to the UPS store a block away that has parking with Handicapped Spots and actually accepts packages during their business hours which I think is a clever idea. read more

People here do not know how to do their job. They are rude and lazy and mess up a lot on your mail. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT GOOD SERVICE.

I don't know what it is about government buildings, but they always feel dirty even if they're not. That being said, it's the only issue I have with this post office. They are friendly and polite. They are very helpful choosing the proper shipping package and service. I don't mind coming to the post office because it's one of those places that makes me feel like part of a community, a village. Worst post office ever. My mail doesn't come everyday. It comes every 3 or 4 days. Then there is a big pile. My mail doesn't get picked up, I can see the mailman walk by my house while I have mail hanging out the mailbox with the stamp showing so they know it needs to be mailed. When I go to the post office some of the workers are rude, not all of them. But there are definitely a few that need to take some customer service classes and figure out how to talk to people. read more

I had a very difficult situation develop. A priority Package that I sent on the 6th of July from my local Post Office was marked as delivered on July 8th to a residence in Evergreen, I'll. I checked this on the internet and did not have any concern as this was the expected arrival date. Weeks later I checked again on internet because The individual I sent the package to had NOT RECEIVED IT! YIKES! This package contained important personal tax documentation. I began searching it will an postal investigation, a week passed and I then found out that it did not go to the correct address somehow. I panicked! Since identity theft is now rampant I went into high gear to lock down credit and update my identity theft policy. The Post Office was willing to open another investigation which came back with the same information but I received a call back from the Supervisor at the Evergreen Post office, Camila Jew. She was thorough in describing the circumstances and following up by having her carrier contact the party that had received the package. Fortunately, the party still had the mail in their possession and it was retrieved by the carrier! (This was over 30 days from the original delivery date.) To my relief, the package was readdressed and sent to the correct adress without having to have it returned to me first. As it turns out, I had transposed a number on the address label. The Post Office only did their job to see that it was delivered to the address given. The service I received in retrieval of my mail was above and beyond the norm and saved me so much grief. I had scheduled an appointment online for a new passport with photo services on Friday 2/2/24. When I arrived for my appointment they informed me that they had cancelled my appointment due to the agent being out sick they then told me to make a new appointment for Tuesday 2/7/24 (which is today). They said they had left a voicemail informing me of the cancellation but when checked there wasn't even a missed call or voicemail. Today when I went in (2/7/24) they told me the agent was still out from being sick and that they had left a voicemail. But again no actual missed call nor voicemail. Zero stars. The staff at the front desk is unfriendly, unhelpful, lacks customer service skills and lies about how packages can be taped closed (meaning with or without duct tape). The post office on 92nd and Cicero is a better alternative, as they always provide excellent, friendly fast service and will not lie to you to avoid doing their job. read more

Absolute terrible service. Both female employees did not hide the fact that they were hating their day there and did not want to deal with the ever growing line of people. I saw them interacting with a couple of people who did not have everything complete for their shipping. Instead of explaining how and what needed to be done, they told customers to stand to the side while they worked through it on their own with no help. Not only were the two women rude and miserable, but neither were wearing their masks correctly. Like many others in the building who cannot follow simple guidelines for public safety, they had the masks under their nose, defeating the point. I also saw many people wearing their masks under the nose or under their chin. No attempt of enforcement of masks was made. This made me feel incredibly unsafe. All around 0/10 experience. read more

I attempted to get a passport today. I decided this location would be somewhat free of the ratchet service I normally get when going to a city post office. Boy was I wrong. It seemed decent upon entering. A lady spoke who was placing labels on boxes and a guy was helping a customer. I asked the female if they took passport pics and she said yes. The male cashier got into it with another female worker who asked him where was his name tag & tie. It's not what they were talking about, it's just the level of ratchetness from some old folk. They were older than me acting a fool. The female who greeted me informed them that me & my partner heard them. Of course we did. They were loud as if we were in a stadium. After waiting in line for a bit for the passport specialist(???), the lady who greeted us started to help us. Why didn't she do that in the first place??? WTH?? By this time I didn't even want the passport. Their level of customer service is dated, professionalism is gutter low, it's a disgrace. No wonder why these people hold on to these positions: federal jobs. I wanted to treat them but being across the street from one of the racist police departments kept me at bay. read more

Her help didnt stop there,she stopped what she was doing came from behind the counter and helped me with the electronic parcel drop off machine. I've been on hold now for over 12 minutes for an answer to my question about the identity of my mailman. Apparently they cover for each other by putting callers on hold until we hang up. I just had a mailman tell me to "go to hell." He threatened me with jail if I continued to berate him. I had put an incorrectly delivered envelope back out in the slot and wrote "wrong address" on it. He delivered my mail and wrote on mine "Dont write on mail" So I called him on it. In 34 years in E.P., I have never had a mail carrier speak to me like that. Oh, and he also told me he lived in a nicer neighborhood. He lives in Oak Lawn! LOL! I don't think anybody at this post office works a regular day shift. I live in the village and get my mail between 5pm-8:30pm. This is on a regular day, not a holiday , not Christmas none of that Sad to see EP Postoffice has turned mail carrier into a 3-11 gig. TERRIBLE. They lose almost EVERY package. I recently moved and my address hasn't changed on my I.D yet. I offered to prove ownership of my house by showing my bill of sale, etc. But that was not good enough. They would not give me my package. I spoke to the post master/manager at the USPS office at 9359 S. Kedzie Ave in regard to a package that I ordered. The tracking number received from the company when I searched on the usps site stated it was at the post office for pickup and 12 minutes later it said it was delivered. I explained that to him and told him it was not. He asked for the tracking number and I gave it to him. He placed me hold and came back to the phone screaming, "Let me repeat this number to you". He repeated the number and I confirmed. He then screamed "Why are you calling me then" I was so shocked I didn't know how to respond. I begin to tell him why I called again like previous. He cut me off screaming "This package went to (he gave me the full address but I can't recall because I don't know anyone at that address). So again, why are you calling me? Why are you calling me?" I then said you don't have to talk to me like that. He kept screaming, "Why are you calling me?" I said, how am I supposed to know it went somewhere else. I am the receiver, I didn't make up the number it was given to me and I can't see the address it was delivered to like you can. My invoice reflects my address. All you had to say was ma'am this tracking number doesn't match your address. He kept screaming, "Well let me tell you" and I cut him off and said I don't need your fucking help anymore cause I don't know who the fuck you think you're talking to and I hung up. It's almost 20 minutes later and I can't even stop crying and trembling. This is why people are being killed in this world. Why are people so rude. He spoke to me like I was his child! My husband called back to get his name and he said Mr. Sedier I don't know the true spelling but he identified himself as the post master and manager when asked. He better pray he doesn't mistreat the right person because he won't be around long with that attitude. He is a piece of shit of a man to down talk anyone in the way he did me. He was way more pleasant with my husband. I pray for his wife because he probably is home yelling and beating on her. I'd like this issue to be addressed. We are entering the holiday season and I can't imagine anyone having to deal with his behavior. read more

it is the worst and slowest most unprofessional post office i have ever been to. I picked up passport forms and came back two days later. after standing in line i was told that they only accept them till 3. i wasn't informed about it oh well little annoying. the next day i came back after they opened waited in line and was told they don't do the passports until 10. couldn't u just give me all the information the first time....????? it was the same person too....he could of said something when i was in line with a 5 month old. i work in costumer service i get payed way less then he does and i do way better job communicating with costumers also can get things done way faster. i will never go there again. also all my neighbors have nothing good to say about this place. how these people hold their jobs is beyond me..... read more

No one likes going to the post office-- But, if you absolutely must, use these services, the Evergreen Park post office, situated on the Southwest side in the heart of the city, is definitely among the top two-- there used to be a very friendly staffed location in the middle of the illinois medical district at univ. of il- but they closed some time ago, so the next one to get things done reasonably was the evergreen park, il branch, which is pretty great when you are lucky enough to go on a quiet/slow foot traffic day. But, still, be prepared for very slow service and long wait times-- There may be room for improvement, but it's still much more reasonable than the one on 79th street bet. central park and millard, and the haunted one in englewood on 63 bet. lowe/wallace where the (Henry H. I have come to this post office numerous times before and never left with anything other than a smile. Tina needs some training on how to answer simple questions without being a bully from behind a desk. She should be in back if she can not manage as a grown woman to control how her tone and body language appears to clients. She rolled her eyes, breathed heavily, repeatedly clicked her pen while I looked at my bank balance and made sure I had not been double charged since she basically left me in the dark as to what the easiest way would have been for this transaction. Tina stared at me and acted as if she was mute after my response made it clear i was not having her attitude. I know I had a tone AFTER she tried to attack me verbally, but that is because I work with the public and I know she had to be on drugs or just thought because I'm a young woman I would take it. There is no excuse for this. When she said have a good day, I said you too, and she arrogantly replied "I WILL" yelling across the post office in front of other clients. She is a joke and the fact that she definitely isn't new in her career amazes me that she would still struggle so much to act like an adult at work. This is the closest post office to me so i will be back, and unlike Tina, I would be able to handle my business and leave in peace. She clearly is missing her mean girl days in Highschool  (if she went) because the whole experience was ridiculous. I had to come back after my card would not prompt for debit, yes it has before- I'm not stupid and I know how my money works, but different venues of business have different systems, but maybe Tina isn't cultured enough in her professional experiences to know that.  I should have asked for a manager but when I came back she was in back, and I didn't want to see her hateful face. Don't go to this post office if you don't have 30 mins to waste! I needed to mail 2 small packages. There was a guy mailing about 6 packages overseas and 1 guy helping him. And he was goi g so slow. He was nice but man he moved slow. The other working was just standing at the counter and just asking if people were paying for items with card and telling them to use machine outside. Or if you had a prepaid package you could drop off. The line went from 2 people to 10 people in 5 mins. After 15 mins of waiting and the guy only on package #3, I left. I didn't want to use my card but went to use the machine to send my 2 packages. And guess what happens...the machine doesn't work properly! I was pressing buttons but nothing was working. The lady at the counter said she would help but she was too busy standing around. I finally print my 2 labels and finish up and the guy at the counter just finishes getting stamps on his packages. Why did they not have another line open and why did it take so long?! I need to find another post office to go to but I see this is a trend at majority of them. read more

In an extremely long line , I was told I'd have to come back in 30 minutes for a passport because he was going to lunch now and he's the only one that can do a passport . Unbelievable!!!
