I came here because it was close and have been in line for ten minutes to simply drop off prepackaged and paid packages. there is one person working, a lady on the phone loud behind me, dirty floors and dim lights. they have plexiglass windows I guess so you can't attack an employee but the dumb waiter windows where you place your packages are broken so you have to walk down to the end window to place them in the the only working window. Being first responders and essential workers, you are mandated to be a resident of Chicago. There are some amazing benefits of living in the city! It's just really hard to focus on them when you haven't received mail in over 3 weeks. I am not talking about junk mail or magazines. I'm talking about tax documents, refund checks, medication and packages. Employees have received my tracking numbers on 3 different occasions. They have told me that the packages are in the office but they can't get to them because of all of the mail piling up blocking access. So it's a long, unfortunate 'waiting game'. I requested information on PO Boxes and was told that all mail, no matter where it goes must first be sorted by USPS and that because of Covid and excessive absenteeism, there is NO ONE available to do this. They also stated that they can't really keep employees. Stood in line for 3 hours and 44 minutes only to leave with a bunch of excuses and NO mail. I pray that this issue that has recently been in the news is resolved sooner than later and that it benefits everyone consistently. read more

Make sure you put your name in your mailbox or you may or may not get your mail. Mail gets stolen or lost and envelopes will get to you empty. I suspect its the employees of this post office. They are unprofessional and very unpleasant. Send back packages I sent because name not on mailbox. Now I have to pay more shipping. They said just take off the return to sender sticker and throw back in the mail, which you would think the Post Office would know is against the law. The US Postal Service needs to "communicate" to it's customers about staff shortages and what they plan to do about it! Your carriers are working late into the night delivering mail and not good when you live on the south side for safety reasons and are only able to get mail to my house once a week and maybe twice if we are lucky. No one sends a notice, no emails NOTHING! I signed up for "see my mail that is coming" and you never deliver it till days after the notice states Saturday delivery . Put those brick mail boxes on every corner that have a heavy duty box for each house encased in brick and I will gladly go to the corner to get my mail. The mail person can make one stop and move on. Saying nothing is worse than bad service. It is not the carriers fault....HIRE SOME PEOPLE or change how mail is handled. read more

I really like this location and the postal people behind it all. They find away to make a long line get short really quickly. Sometimes its a surge of people who come through the door and they make sure each person feels like they are important. I haven't come here once and seen one rude postal person. I have laughed with them and they have even got me with a joke or two. I know the area for some is not the best but they are truly a drop of sunshine when you come through the door. Now don't get me wrong even a well oiled machine has problems sometimes but I like how they handle the problems. They answer questions and listen to what your concerns are and that is a plus in my book. I have seen people blow up in their face and they calm them down....Amazing! Again I'm not here everyday but the times I have been here has been great and I can't imagine the postal workers changing so that's my experience and I am sticking too it...lol The last time I went I wasn't able to check in but anyway that's not really a review but what is...is how the postal worker treated my father and myself. I wish I knew her name because she had my father cracking up the entire time but she was still focused on her work and making sure she took care of us and getting to the next customer. Great Job!! This is my local Post Office so I will be back but I don't have any complaints about the office! I will say that I also have the best Post Person(Sabrina) and I can tell when she doesn't deliver my mail. Although I do have a couple of people who can contend with her when it comes to delivering the mail. I like someone who enjoys their job and you can tell in how they treat you and the things they do in their job. I have to say even if none of the workers enjoys their job I would not be able to tell because they don't treat you like they don't like when you are in their presence. I just wanted to say how pleased I am with how swiftly and efficiently my issue was resolved. I called in very upset for a missing package. The lady I spoke with kept me calm and assured me should would investigate and contact me with answers. Considering the state our city is in, I didn't feel optimistic about it. However she did investigate and I had my lost package at my door the very next day! The nice lady even called me back to be sure I received it. I believe the delivery person itself has withheld four of my packages. Whoever he/she may be (I suspect it's a female because I've seen her deliver mail often.) is stealing may packages, and is very cunning to mark it "delivered" , when NOTHING has been delivered. I believe they have a way of knowing what's in the package and where it came from and is it safe for them to steal the package. Just a few days ago, my fiance had to drive around looking for the Post Office delivery person because I received a notification that my "smart watch" has been delivered and there was none. This must be the worst post office in the US! My packages are NEVER delivered on time and sometimes they are not delivered at all. Very often the packages are scanned as delivered, but no delivery was made or even attempted. There have been various other deceitful excuses for my property not being delivered such as, "An address redirection agreement is in place between the customer and the carrier. Package will be forwarded to the requested address." even though I never made such an agreement with the carrier and my address has not changed. I have submitted several complaints on USPS' website over the past 3 years but no improvements have been made. This Post Office is terrible, long lines and very unorganized. We are not getting mail delivered or packages when go there as informed to pickup your items you have to stand in long lines over 40 to 50 minutes and the staff states they are short of workers because of Covid. The mail trucks are in the parking lot as if they are on strike. Who's really working? Who's really off sick? This is a travesty and needs to change. The service is horrible! No mail for over four days, they continually update their system to reflect delivery when no delivery is attempted. Normally, the package shows up a day later as if they just didn't feel like delivering it that day. This time, it's been four delivery days. I have a Ring doorbell so I am able to go back through the day as proof of no attempt. I understand this job is very hard, but multiple days of no delivery also effects residents who need to take care of business and receive ordered items as money has been spent. However, when the mail is delivered, the worker is pleasant enough. Going into the office is worse. Cynically-polite. You have to see it to believe it. This is the worst post office. My packages for the past two months have been misplaced, lost or reported to have attempted to deliver and never was. I am clearly home in the day time and my bell never rings for deliveries nor any notices are left. I had a passport appointment and I came to the post office before my scheduled time. NO OTHER CUSTOMER WAS IN THERE. I TOOK PICTURES. The post office worker said my appointment was cancelled because she was the only one working there. I would like reiterate no other customer was there. The time she spent making excuses and forcing me to make another appointment she could have processed my passport information. I have lived in quite a few states in this country being ex-military and this is the worst service I have ever experienced in my entire life and in any country I have ever been in. I understand covid was quite a disruption and a problem but here we are a year later and I only receive mail once a week sometimes, sometimes less than that. I have tried calling the phone is eternally busy, like someone takes the phone off the hook during business hours. I am a disabled veteran and I can't go to the office so I just have to wait. I have several packages sent from different vendors and the tracking service says they are sitting in the office waiting for delivery every day the email says they will be delivered today before 8:00 pm. I have called the customer service number and they tried to call the Auburn Station while I was on the line and they couldn't get through the phone is always busy in 3 years I have never gotten through. I have relatives that have retired from the USPS and they tell me this P.O. is terrible and the employees are disrespectful. I have contacted my Congressman, U.S. Senators Alderman all to no avail. I was told by my Congressman that the Postmaster was replaced recently but I can't tell. I try my best not to use the USPS because I have no confidence in them and I'd rather pay more money to UPS or FedEx to insure delivery of parcels. I currently have medical devices I don't have access to that are waiting at Auburn Station P.O. 8345 S. I recommend the US Postal Service because there are some very hard working carriers and I applaud them. I understand their job very well because I carried mail for 10 1/2 years. The service that I have been receiving lately however is a joke. Calling to speak to a supervisor is a waste of time. Today I called because once again the carrier decided my package was to heavy and just left a notice without attempting to deliver. The supervisor put me on hold for over an hour and he never returned to the phone. A woman finally picked up and I was assisted. My package was in the office even though the carrier had just left me a notice and was still on the street. I hate that Amazon ever started a partnership with the USPS pertaining to package delivery. If the carriers can't do the job because of weight restrictions Amazon shouldn't utilize their service. I have tried to be professional but I'm a little upset. If I could give this place a zero I would. I visited this post office today regarding missing packages. The tracking stated the the packages were delivered, yet nothing has been received at my home. I stood in line OUTSIDE in the freezing cold because we were told only 5 people can be in the lobby at one time. When a USPS employee came outside she today everyone in line that they were only looking for missing mail and not missing packages. No reasoning behind this decision. I inquired about my missing package and was told by the employee I would need to file a missing package claim on the web, which I did 4 days ago. When I told her this she told me "I need to be patient and wait to hear back." Excuse me?!?!?!? How can I trust the word of a post office that continuously disregards the members of the community THAT PAY THEM THROUGH TAXES. Please avoid this post office at all cost. I was set to receive a package on Saturday 3/31/18. We were home and the package was still not delivered. On Monday, I called only to stay on hold over one hour, still with no answer. No package delivered on Monday 4/2/18. I rushed home from work Tuesday to pick up my package from the Auburn Park office only to find that my package was not there and there was no information pertaining to my package. The tracking number was not even pulling up my package info. I was given a phone number and told that tomorrow maybe the carrier would have some information.
