MacKenzie has a good balance of personable and professional! She walked me through what I needed to do to prepare for my wax and tried to make the process as seamless as possible. (Waxes are just uncomfortable, there's really no way around that)! She's the first esthetician I've come across that I know I definitely want to go back to. Her shop is located in 5 Points and she has a separate space for her studio in a hair salon, Parvati's Mirror. Well I went back to Laura last week due to some random chain of events and... WHOA!!! Ya'll the difference is noticeable immediately! The lashes themselves seem almost shinier, and more lush than the ones I had from the chain...and the Classic set I got were comparable and even better than the Volume that I was paying more for at other places. And if her work wasn't enough, Laura is sweet, kind and gracious while maintaining the upmost level of professionalism and pride in her craft. She doesn't have a traditional website; her instagram serves the purpose of listing services, dates, etc.... which was a little confusing to an old lady like me. So if thats a concern at all, call her number directly and she will sort you out!

If you are looking for natural looking lashes and you've never had extensions before, you may want to find a larger salon with more variety. She should have looked at the example I showed her and said, "I can't give you anything close to this look with the extensions I have." Instead, she said she only had C or D curl and thicker lashes. Since I have never had extensions before, I had no idea the dramatic difference this would make. They looked like fake lashes, not anything like the example I showed her. After I saw my extensions and wanted them changed, she said she was booked up the rest of the month but we could pay $20 to have them removed. I ended up trimming them with scissors because they were way too long and will be going to a different salon to have them removed and reapplied.

I moved to NC from NV and came to her scared to death I wouldn't be able to find someone here that had the same level of detail and knowledge but I was blown away with how amazing my lashes and skin look thanks to her! Nini (her nickname) gave me a special cleaner to use to keep them fresh in between sessions, she gives me brushes each appointment and tips on how to make them last and continue to stay clean. She helps me find the best products for my skin, & even checks in with me to see how the products are working after her recommendations. I am a long time customer, 5+ years & I drive an hour to see her because there is not anyone better or more skilled that I would trust! My lashes are not damaged from having the extensions on consistently, which was one of my major fears, I had her take them off right before I received Lasik last year and my natural lashes were in perfect condition, unlike when I came to her and she had to fix them due to allowing someone else to redo my lashes. She is honest with me & will tell me when it's time to take a break, it's not about the money, it has always been about her client being happy and looking their very best.
