My skin felt incredibly clean, soft, and deeply hydrated, with a noticeable glow. The massage was just as impressive. The therapist was very attentive and made sure the pressure was exactly right throughout the session. They really focused on my problem areas and were able to relieve tension. Bizzare experience start to finish. I came for a massage, and I arrived five minutes before my appointment time, there was no one at the desk or in the lobby/building at all that I could see. Granted, it was late, their last posted time and on a weekend at that, so I didn't think much of it. But when a woman who looked frazzled to see me came out of the back hall way and asked me if i'd made an appointment, when I was the only person there, now right on time for my appointment, I felt a little strange. However, what was stranger was that when I confirmed I had made an appt. the woman didn't then ask my name, or what massage it was. She just told me to follow her. I felt unsettled bc she seemed really confused when I first came in, but then clear enough to not clarify or do any introductions with me at all before guiding me back, through a weirdly "we're closed" feeling, dark hallway, to a room with two beds. She didn't tell me which to use or ask anything about my body, she just left. So... awkwardly, I undressed and laid down on my chosen table for several mins. When the door opened again, I wasn't sure if it was the same woman coming back to give the massage, or someone else entirely, as she hadn't introduced herself. For me, I like to feel comfortable with my masseuse, and know who's touching my body. The door again opened DURING the massage, and when I asked if everything was okay she just said "yes" and didn't explain why the door to the hall had been opened mid massage. The actual massage was... uncomfortable. The masseuse kept touching near my arm pits even though I told her I was ticklish there, then giggling after i'd get tense. She also commented maybe 3 or 4 times on how "hot" my body was? it felt weird she kept commenting on the temperature of my skin, and even tho i'd bought a full 85 min hot stone massage, she asked me mid massage if I "needed" the stones? when she did use them, it was maybe 30 seconds on only one small space of my back. the actual massage didn't feel good, I had moments of pain, and not the good massage pain you want, like I was tensing and jerking away as a result pain. she preformed stretches on my body that felt unsafe and left me feeling over worked and uncomfortable. I will also note that when I asked the masseuse, her name, she informed me she was in fact not the person I had booked with online. Although it was late on a weekend evening, if you are going to offer massages at that time, I feel costumers should receive the same experience someone who is coming at any other time is receiving. AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE. Everything from the ambiance to the service to the actual massages was top tier. The couples massage was from LITERAL head-to-toe. Ahhh where do I start? I was really sad when my esthetician wasn't responding to texts about whether she would be re-opening and after this quarantine my skin was ready for some major TLC. Spa By Jing offers a variety of beauty services such as facials, massages, permanent makeup, waxing, eyelash extensions and some spa packages if you're interested in more than one service. For starters, you can schedule online which is awesome and makes it easier to see live availability if you are someone who has a tight schedule and/or a last minute person (guilty). This place is amazing. It's extremely clean and you can see that the minute you walk in through the door. It smells really nice too. There is ample parking, and it's in a great plaza location. It looks small when you're in the lobby area but when you are walking back to your treatment room, you'll realize how big this spa is with multiple, 4+ treatment rooms. The ambience and décor of each room is just so beautifully done. Let's not make this any longer than it needs to be. Jing is AMAZING. She gave me the best facial ever! It had been about 5 months and she squeezed every last blackhead out with as little discomfort as possible. My skin was glowing and with each day that passed, it looked clearer. Everything went well. My husband and I actually had an appointment at a different massage place for our 11th anniversary, however they called to cancel at 930am, 30 'minutes before we were suppose to arrive. No worries I googled places near me and Jing initially did not answer but called me right back and said she could do the couples massage at 10am if I could get there. What a wonderful experience. We came out so relaxed. We were really pampered and taken good care of by the young ladies assigned to us. They were respectful courteous engaging and thorough. We would definitely go back. I'm new to the area and looking for a new massage therapist from whom to receive regular bodywork. I am lucky to have found talented therapists that I work with regularly for self-care wherever I live, and have lived all over the world. I specifically scheduled with Jing after reading through reviews lauding her work and was excited to visit this spa for the first time. When I arrived, a very friendly woman asked if I was there for a massage, and I said, "Yes, I have a 6:30pm appt w/ Jing." I was led to the treatment room, and asked to undress and lay face down on the table. I assumed that this woman, who I did not suspect was Jing according to pictures online, was just "prepping" the massage and that Jing would come in. As the massage began and the masseuse spoke, I knew it was the same woman who greeted me delivering the massage, but I thought perhaps that I had somehow been mistaken in my lack of initial recognition... While the massage itself was fine(!) and ultimately quite relaxing, I'd rate it a step or two above the best walk-in $60 Chinatown massages I've had (which is not a dig at all, it's just a comment on value of money exchanged) but with more bells & whistles (this one had hot stones, aromatherapy, all sorts of relaxing heated eye and shoulder pillows-- and I didn't have any allergic reactions, which means the products they use are very high quality and pure). While the energy of this therapist was very caring and warm, and she was thoughtful to check-in whether the pressure applied was okay at first, I still had to ask her multiple times later to ease up, which a more experienced therapist would be able to titrate after the first ask. Sometimes, she would hit the perfect spot to release tension, and other times, she was slightly off, showing a less than full understanding of anatomy. In the end, I tipped her the full amount I would tip any therapist, because I appreciated her time and intention and general caring nature. But when I asked what her name was at the end... it was not Jing. English was not her first language, so I felt it was not worth pursuing this issue with her. Of course I would understand if Jing was sick or had to attend to an emergency, but given the impression from other reviewers of this being a 5-star spa on par with the the Umstead, I was surprised I wasn't informed. read more
