Our first contact was with Bret and Skyler when they came to our house and took measurements. We then visited their showroom and they had several good ideas for our bathroom remodel. We signed the contract and work started a short time later. Their foreman, Kurt, was nothing short of amazing. He sent us a preliminary work schedule at the beginning of the project and he also sent an email or a text daily outlining who was coming the next day, what they were going to accomplish and what project was next. Throughout the project Kurt was very fast responding to texts or emailed questions. As for the work, it went very smoothly and right on schedule. The demo guys were on time, mindful of any dust and hauled everything off at the end of their day. The plumber was friendly, very professional and had a few helpful suggestions that we didn't think about in our initial plan. He works a lot with Rise Above and you can tell they have a great working relationship. Next came the tile installation. Their installer, Saul, is an absolute artist and for a one man show he was super fast! You can see why Rise Above uses him. All and all we couldn't be happier and have recommended them to several friends.

I needed about 200 SQ ft of poorly installed tile and an old built in vanity removed and booked an appointment. They arrived early for the appointment and finished quickly. They're a friendly and efficient crew who protected my kitchen cabinets with plastic before beginning and moved appliances and pulled/reinstalled the toilet to get all the tile out. They were very helpful, quick, and did a great job. I highly recommend these guys for all your floor demo needs. If I ever need another floor ripped out I'll be using them again.

Other contractors had told me we'd need at least 6 to 10 hours of grinding to get anywhere, and being the center of my house, that just wasn't an viable option. Mark came out to take a look, and gave me some additional options that did not require nearly as much grinding. He also had some ideas to help mitigate and contain the dust that would be generated, which other folks had not bothered to try and work with me on. While I only needed options for this one room, Mark gave me a proposal for doing the entire flooring job (7 rooms in total, over 1400 square feet). Prices were a bit higher than the other outfits I had talked to, but Mark's company specializes in hardwood floors and I liked his attitude and the willingness to work with me on the dust and grinding concerns, not to mention his straightforward honesty. While we had a few slight hiccups at the very outset, the installation moved ahead at a very quick pace and did not relent until we wrapped up exactly seven days later. We ran into a number of issues, primarily with the 30 year old slab having settled or cracked (or both) in most of the rooms, but Dan and Will, who did the install, were able to surmount them all without missing a beat. These guys have known each other for eight years and worked together more than half that time, and it absolutely shows when you watch how well they function as a team. They work quickly and efficiently and are absolute masters of their craft. I cannot say enough good things about the quality of the job they did or the speed with which they knocked it out. Anyone who reads my reviews knows that I don't pull punches and I do not hesitate to call out shenanigans. In this case, I really have nothing but good things to say about the folks at Phoenix Hardwood. These guys knocked it out of the park and exceeded my expectations in every regard. My wife and I are thrilled with how the floors turned out, and our only regret is that we did not hire them sooner. Rafal helped narrow down my selections and let me take samples home. Once I made my decision, Rafal presented an estimate to complete the job that was both competitive and detailed. He patiently answered all my questions and concerns before I gave him my deposit to begin the project. Rafal and Kelly kept me informed of ordering, delivery and installation dates and adhered to the schedule throughout the entire project. I was blessed to have Buddha install my flooring, he was absolutely fantastic.
