I had a crown put in. Dentist wouldn't numb my crown area anymore & he kept doing work on crown & it hurt so bad! I put my hand up & he just said almost finished, but it wasn't soon enough! He sure did make it miserable for me. So he continued with me being in great pain!. Also when she was fitting me for my temporary crown it felt like she didn't know what she was doing. She fitted it so many times & one of the times it had to be taken out & felt like she was having a hard time taking it out to redo! It felt horrible! When I came back they still had to shape crown in place & it was painful again, & he kept going til eventually got it in place, wow it hurt so much! I have left dentist I was only with them 6 months! The new dentists that took over just want your money.I was a patient for over 10 years when it was Pacific Coast Smiles before it got sold to Everly Dental. I left after I saw how they disregarded my daughter's pain level and on top of that they left glue or something on her teeth after the filling was done. It is a great place to go friendly staff, but for the negative stars this time is six months ago when I was there and I did not know this, but apparently I had a start of a small cavity and six months later, which is today I go in I'm all done and awesome and then i am ready to leave. The dentist tells me oh you have a small forming of a cavity and I asked him is this a new one or an old one? Patient First Focus!! I've visited PCS a couple times now, and I've been met with not only a great staff, but also a great dentist. Dr. Oullette, on both occasions, has approached my situations from numerous angles, and with laser focused attention to detail and thoughtfully explained. His understanding and explanation of my dental needs and how symptoms are so often treated first without addressing how symptoms developed over time was an eye opener for me. I was relieved PCS is not out to do the biggest, most invasive and expensive procedure just because it may be "an" option. Based on that, I'm comfortable saying I've seen a pragmatic approach that takes into account the desires of the patient as well, but only after the patient fully understands the options and weighs in on them. There's a lot to be said for a practice that combines the care, attention to detail, learning/teaching environment, innovation, holistic approach, and a genuine love for the profession, and true desire to help patients. The office staff are friendly and helpful and I was called back nearly right away after checking in. Dr. Ouellet is friendly, personable, funny, and shares the knowledge necessary to keep your teeth in tip-top shape (and out of the dentist chair getting fillings!). Dr. Ouellet is so comforting and such a professional! His bed side manner makes the experience so much better than it could be. He is encouraging in the way he wants you to take care of yourself and never makes you feel bad for past mistakes. The staff is always friendly and welcoming! Used to be the best dentist in town . Warning Dr Ouelett sold to Dr Jerry Yu and it's now called Everly Dental . Now Requires prepayment of all services prior to scheduling appointment . They switch you to a new dentist and you can not choose who you seen . My wife was a long time Dr Ouelett patient and has severe dental anxiety . She recent cracked a crown and was seen by Dr X Yu on and emergent basis . He filled the area with material and she to see Dr Ouelett in followup in several weeks . She was then redirected to another younger doctor who she didn't want and had a painful prep for a new crown . She then asked to followup with Dr Ouelett and after some heated discussion was reluctantly scheduled to have him place the crown. She was call yesterday and informed that she could not see Dr Ouelett and was force to see the prior dentist with which she had a bad experience . We asked for a refund or have Dr Ouelett place crown and we were told neither was an option and we could not speak to any dentists . RUN THESE GUYS ARE HACKS AND VERY DISHONEST read more

Practice has been sold to Everly dental In the last couple of years the new owners Dr Jerry Yu and in particular Miriam in their front office are one of the rudest people I've ever encountered they could care less about you as a patient or what your needs are. They took over my doctors practice didn't give patients an option to see their original doctor collect fees for any procedures upfront (yes you pay your crown in full upfront!!!) you never know who they are sticking you with despite requesting to see your original dentist. I had a horrible experience there recently begging to see my original dentist and Miriam would not let me talk to my original dentist or the manager or the owner of the practice. I would not recommend this office to anyone they are rude and their attitude comes from the top (owner) because even after complaining to him he was unapologetic and said he backs his office staff! There are plenty of other doctors that are caring and not so money conscious. This used to be a great office when Dr Ouellette was the owner but no more! read more

I found myself in need of some dental work, I found Dr. Ouellet here on yelp and decided to go into the office. I was in pain with a bad tooth and was seen very quickly. I had a root canal and will be returning soon for the crown. Very happy to have found Dr. Ouelett, made my visit really Painless. I did not receive the level of customer service that I heard this place had. I was fifteen minutes early to my appointment and they never called my daughter back after 25 minutes past the appointment time. I had to reschedule because I have college classes that I needed to attend. I thought I deserved a little bit of an explanation or at the very least a "sorry for your inconveniences. This dentist took my money, before he did an 8 crown bridge on me. When the bridge was wrong, it took him one and a half year's to replace it. He had me wear plastic temporary teeth. When they would break, he made me go without teeth for two week's at a time. The bridge has cracked all of my natural bottom teeth. I NOW am getting implants because of his mistake. During this time, I contracted a life threatening staff infection that almost killed me. I NOW have scars on my face. His receptionist had given me the staff infection, and later terminated. Walking into his Paton Place office was the biggest nightmare of my life. To add insult to injury, I had given Dr. Ouellete some beautiful gifts along with his 15 employees, and NEVER received a "thank you". This dentist hurt me for life!!!!!!!!! I have heard good stories about Pacific Coast Smiles in SM, from the start I was told the Dentist wanted to do a thorough and quality job, As I had to have an implant done, but taking the old tooth out was a struggle, The original plan changed not because of the situation but he decided that was the best way after I spent money for an implant, the very thing he told me at the start that he did not advice to do, he decided to do it, and then told me what he was doing was far more expensive then the implant that was paid for, the temp tooth that was put on did not match, was dark and I constatly was asked what happened to your tooth for 8 weeks look like I had a dead tooth. I also had 3 fillings that he said that were coming apart, an appointment was never made and I was in pain for 2 weeks, then I was scheduled, and when I went in to get it fixed, they rescheduled me to a sooner time, then they did another exray, I sat in the seat for 30 minutes and then told me the tooth was cracked, and gave me two choices but I had to come back a later day to get it done which was another week out. Made the appointment, very frustrated in this process, after I chose a filling cause I could not afford a crown, but only one tooth was done and then told they been making emergency appointments and I needed to have a thorough check scheduled, I mean an emergency is 2 weeks to a month out appoinment? The filling that was done is at higher rise then my bite, which there is not an appointment for me to get it resolved. I voiced my opinion very politely and I was heard out but immediately told when did I need an appoinment and seem they really didn't care what I was going through. My wife has 2 teeth that needs to be taken out, it is to the point where poison drains down to her stomach making her very sick, it wasn't until a month later for the appointment, then the day prior they called to rescedule her at a later time, my wife is very nice and new we had other arrangements we sceduled around this appointment and she didn't know what to do, and to get the same dentist we had to wait another 2 weeks for his vaction time...The day she was supposed to be seen she woke very sick from the poison, very pale, and no energy, I called and asked why are we consistantly being pushed off and rescheduled, they did not want to hear about the issue it caused, then another person gets on the phone very hostile, telling me I was being mean, and she will not tolerate her worker being abused (i swear I was as nice as I could be, my tone was a little elevated just cause I was expressing what we feel what was happeing to us, being pushed off and treated like a heard of cows and no one cares) she then kept talking over me and then said the Dr. will be calling me, what does that mean, am I in trouble, being sent to the corner or are they not going to treat us. I called back and apologized to the apoinmet scheduler and asked for foregiveness for my intent was not to be mean, or hostile but to be heard out our experience and wanted some care from it. It was excepted but now we hav an appointment and my wife is scared cause of what happened she will get tortured for it...Not sure what to do here, do I find another dentist or is this all a miss communication and it is just a bad timing and they are too busy to keep up and managing the best they can and I need to be more patient? Just found out my Wife is too scared they will be mad at us and not be gentle and feel they will make her suffer for all this... read more

Overall really great experience. One thing that I feel is important is not only how the dentist presents themselves, but how they treat the staff that works for them. Dr Ouellet was find kind to his staff and was patient with a new member of the staff that was learning the office procedures as well. The first appointment is long, to detail you teeth history, and take x-ray so manage at least 2 hours upon your first visit. The office was clean and modern looking, and they have TV's you can watch while you are waiting in the chair and having your cleaning. The hygentist did a really good job and wasn't rough with her cleaning. After you appointment they gave you the chance immediately to schedule follow up appointments as needed. for future cleanings or work done. Before leaving I had an cost share estimate on what it would cost for a filling after the insurance paid. Overall very happy with the experience. Plus they give new patients a free candle as a thank you and I thought that was nice. read more

I GAVE THIS OFFICE 1 STAR BECAUSE 0 STARS WAS NOT AN OPTION!!!!! Let me start buy saying I have been a patient of Dr. David Ouellet for many years, and sent more than a few friends, and family members to him as patients. When I first started seeing him he was a wonderful dentist, very professional, compassionate, with a kind manner, and a very helpful and professional staff. THOSE WERE THE DAYS LONG SINCE PAST AT HIS OFFICE!!! Today the quality of Dr. Ouellet's has gone down along with his good bedside manner. Now his only concern is volume, and how much money he can take from patients! He is no longer "GENUINELY" pleasant, and in some instances VERY condescending, rude, and out right insulting.. In the past he had a warm inviting smile, and funny manner. Now the smile has turned smarmy and forced, and most of his humor is not funny at all. Many of his jokes are at the expense of the patient, belittling, insulting and down right unprofessional. In years past Dr. Ouellet would try to find the best option to help a patient not just try to pad his pockets with expensive procedures. HOWEVER, NOW YOU CAN EXPECT EXPENSIVE TREATMENT PLANS that could be better addressed in different, less expensive ways. His work used to be top notch TOP NOTCH, and as good as you could get. However, today his work is average at best, a Honda for BMW/Lexus prices. But do not tell him that as he will have no problem telling you he's the Gold standard of dentistry. It's amazing how his ego has increased as the quality of his work has decreased. For the money he charges for crowns, fillings, and minor cosmetic procedures (simple bonding etc.) he should be passing out free cruises with each office visit. Instead you're lucky if your fillings don't fall out. Of course when they do you won't get an appointment for weeks, at which time he'll tell you you need a root canal and a crown, and if you're lucky the crown will fit properly. If not don't bother saying anything as he will just convince you everything is fine rather than correct the poor job he did.. One of his worst policies is how he determines the cost of his services. NOW I HAVE DENTAL INSURANCE AND SOME OF THE BEST DENTAL INSURANCE YOU CAN HAVE. BUT HE SCREWS PATIENTS (A FRIEND OF MINE TO BE EXACT) WITHOUT INSURANCE. IF the Patient has dental insurance his fee to the patient for a crown is about $900. If the patient does not have dental insurance he charges them $1400 dollars... So, lets get this straight, if you have insurance he only charges the $900 rate he was able to negotiate with the insurance company (because insurance companies know what the service is worth, and will not allow any dentist to fleece them with ludicrous prices). However, if you are not fortunate enough to have dental insurance he charges the poor patient without any insurance $500 more than he would charge someone with insurance.. And that has nothing to do with the patients co-pay or deductible.. I think charging a less fortunate patient (that already maybe in a hardship position just trying to afford a crown at all) $500-$600 more for than the price he's given an insurance carrier, is just ONE disgusting example of his profiteering off of the less fortunate. Root Canal, fillings, and everything else is the same story as well.. A patient with no insurance is totally ripped off by Dr. Ouellet's discriminatory practice of routinely charging underprivileged patients without insurance over 30% more, than patients with insurance is disgusting. He should try to help his patients more than he tries to take advantage of them.. STOP BEING A GREEDY MISER! He seems more concerned with his lectures, and classes, and going from city to city to speak and lecture than his practice and patients. Similar to a restaurant that was once wonderful with great food, but then decided to franchise, and everything special and good was lost, and another assembly line restaurant with marginal food and even worse service took its place. HE HAS NO RESPECT FOR HIS PATIENTS TIME! Numerous times I have sat in his dental chair for 30 minutes maybe more before he ever got started, or even administers anesthetic The caring, and funny Dr. Ouellet no longer exists, and it is truly sad! I had many dentists before Dr. Ouellet and he really was great one once.. Now he seems totally burned out, and is an unpleasant, smug, braggadocio, interested in NOTHING other than money... I hope he starts to read the bad reviews that are, and inevitably will continue to pour in, and make changes to his attitude. If not patients just like me will continue to find a better, more professional dentists.. 2 of the 5 people I referred to Dr. Ouellet have already found a different dentist because of his disappointing arrogant service. SO, IF YOU PREFER BEING RIPPED OFF BY RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED SERVICES COUPLED WITH CONDESCENDING MEDIOCRE WORK, THEN DR. OUELLET IS THE DENTIST FOR YOU!!! The atmosphere here is peaceful. The staff tries to make you as comfortable as possible and those working in the front desk always tries to make an effort to remember your name. They all welcome you and are very friendly. Dr. Oulette is AWESOME! He filled some of my teeth, gave me a root canal, and pulled out a wisdom tooth. He works really well with his hands and even apologizes when he knows he's hurting you lol. He's got a sense of humor, he'll even talk to you during the procedure lol, and he tries to be as gentle as possible. They also know money can be an issue and know that people are on a budget, so they work with you. They tell you the most important procedures and what's best to get done. They tell you straight up on what the problem areas are and can even show you than some places where they just BS you and try to get as much of your money as possible. I'm always reluctant to go to the dentist but I trust this place. They also have t.v.s for you to watch while getting your teeth done! lol.. read more

Grace is amazing at dental cleaning! Dr Ouellet is super nice and the staff is friendly. The only reason I can't give a 5star is that I when you're finished, they direct you to an area to pay for your services where they store and sell candles. I'm allergic to the odors. Not sure why businesses like to sell and burn candles inside when so many people have reactions to chemical candles.. I'll ask to pay in the front reception area instead. read more
