That being said, ROW DTLA is a dreamscape when it comes to filming content and just catching city vibes in a safe space. Located near the Arts District this space of buildings used to be utilized for the textile industry. With multi floored buildings creating rows of foot traffic on the ground this space is perfect for events, pop ups, and get togethers. It's one of the reasons why Smorgasburg is held here on Sundays. It's why on any given weekend there may be an event being held, whether it be to celebrate AAPI month or the different creatives in the area. This space is filled with homegrown businesses and unique shops to visit. One of my favorite places is Hightide which is a Japanese stationary and supplies shop. The vibes are immaculate and walking in really feels like being in a store in Japan. Another popular space is Scent Bar for those who love perfume and are aromaphiles. With plenty of small curated artists being featured in this apothecary of aromas, Scent Bar is a nice stop whilst visiting the Row. If you're looking for interesting and discussion worthy furniture A+R is a must, located at one of the ends of the Row. For good coffee with artistic vibes you got to check out GGET (Go Get Em Tiger). Next to that if you're looking for stronger waters is Flask & Field with smaller batch and independent distilleries and crafters. All of this and the parking is free for the first 2 hours. In LA, that's unheard of! And it's a large parking structure with modern infrastructure. Blessed. With all this, hopefully ROW DTLA will continue to grow with more businesses and still retain its charm as time marches forward. Good for a short stay or half a day, if you're looking for things to do in LA proper, ROW DTLA is worth your drive.

The Perishing Square lot has sketchiness as well, but there are several reasons that I choose to park here if I'm going to Downtown LA in areas south of Skid Row. (In areas north of skid row, I'd park in Little Tokyo). First, if you park here on the weekends or after 5pm on weekdays, they have a flat rate for $9. During work hours on weekdays, the rate would be around $20 if you stay longer than 2 hours ($3 per 15 min with $20 max). Second, though the area is sketchy, there is security and this is a covered lot. Even the presence of security is a step up from most of the lots in the area. It may be only as good as a car alarm; however, I'll take it. Lastly, I feel that it's pretty conveniently located to key attractions in DTLA like Grand Central Market, Jewelry District, and some of the hotels in the area. In terms of safety and convenience, DTLA is one of the worst places to park in Los Angeles; however, I think this lot is one of the best of the worst. Note: entrances to this lot can be found on 5th and 6th streets between Hill and Olive. Note: If you are intending to go to Little Tokyo, Arts District, or north of skid row, look up the Aiso parking lot.

The payment process is bizarre. Sure, you take a ticket at the entry gate as usual. You don't use it to exit - see below Yes, the escalators don't work and obviously never will. They are used as staircases now, which is bad because the individual steps are much bigger, making it especially tricky to use. There are locked restrooms on P1. Just hope you can find someone to open them. You supposedly need to show that you have a parking ticket. There was a "security" woman sleeping in the office nearby You take elevators up to Pershing Square, so no problems there After returning you go to machines on P1, insert the ticket and payment card to receive another card, which you are supposed to use at the exit gates. You are reminded by many signs that there are no cashiers at the gates. Well, there was a man at the gate I approached. He kept pointing (at what?) and I was eventually told to go to another gate (no reason why), which was staffed by another non-cashier.

Solution: nice security guard saved me: 424 threee oh two 65 one oneeeee! FUCK THIS SHIT. The garage is technically open -- the elevator works and cars can exit via sensor -- but the passenger gate is locked, which makes retrieving a car at night unreasonably difficult. I even spoke to the police, and they suggested I Uber home and return in the morning. That seems like an unfair setup.

It's strangely quiet in certain sections of the mall and feels a little eerie. There's one restroom on the second floor past a long horror movie hallway. Idk if this "Galleria" is experiencing a resurgence or if it's slowly fading. I hear they have Japanese/anime pop-up markets on select days and other festivities. However, again I see closed businesses. My understanding is that locals still come here and tourists enjoy the accessibility to Coffee Bean. Personally, I only come for Coffee Bean and Miniso (on rare occasion). KBBQ 333 is a pricey Korean restaurant that I also frequent once a year. Other than that, there's not much to do other than the upstairs arcade. Customer service is pretty solid at most businesses.

Sushi prices seemed ok but not sure of quality. There is a parking lot next to plaza for a charge. Some places offer validation. Plus there are metered spots on the street.

The Blue Line stations are not as aesthetically pleasing as many of the newer stations on the newer rail lines, but the platform here is well lit and very visible from the street, etc. Not a lot of riders get on and off here except during rush hours. Not much in the way of destinations, but definitely gets people to and from their jobs in the area. It also gets me to Restaurant Depot for unconventional cooking supplies (like CO2 cartridges.)

It's hard to beat the price for such a prime location. I also really like that they use the Metropolis parking system. No paper tickets, no fumbling at the gate. They scan your license plate on entry and exit, and it automatically charges the credit card you have on file. Super quick and seamless -- perfect for busy mornings when you just want to get in and out without waiting in line. Clean, well-lit, and easy access. Definitely one of my go-to parking spots in DTLA. Would absolutely recommend!
