The cleverly-named Every Day's A Sundae has a home just north of the train tracks on Main St between Gia Mia & Sushi House. There's another location in downtown Hinsdale, also near a BNSF train station. Commuters on the Metra must love getting ice cream after work. Inside, there's seating for 15-20 people plus a couple benches outside. They stock Sherman's ice cream, a beloved place based out of South Haven, Michigan that I've been to several times (I can attest that it's the real deal and not an impostor). They have frozen bananas and icees in addition to over 40 flavors of hard scooped ice cream. I got a single scoop of the "chocomania" ($4) and it was great. Our 4yo loved his simple yet satisfying vanilla cone w/sprinkles ($5) and our toddler enjoyed a few spoonfuls of my wife's birthday cake cone ($4). The young staff were good about free samples and kept a brave face despite a gaggle of screaming kiddos. * TL;DR * You better finish that thing before it melts! If you haven't yet gone out for an ice cream cone so far this season (or dish, I don't judge), what are you doing with your life?? It's been sweltering for weeks, but a double scoop of Mackinac Island Fudge or Traverse City Cherry can properly cool things down. First time coming here, i recently stopped here to see what this place to offer. My wife was interested in some of their non-dairy flavors. The restrooms that were featured here were also average at best. Prices on the ice cream are pretty expensive and it didn't feel really worth the money though it's always worth it supporting a small business. It features a small dining room too. They got a few other specials besides ice cream but it's worth stopping in for a quick snack if you're walking in downtown Downers Grove. read more

Value of the scoops is there! A scoop is $3.75, and there are some 35 or more flavors to choose from. French silk was a hit! Can't say I've found that flavor anywhere else. Great service and a nice treat for our warm summer days We ordered three flavors , there was the orange cream , blue moon which we couldn't quite figure the flavor out but it was tasty and the cookies and cream that we are now fans of. They are not a homemade place and get ice cream from Sherman's in Michigan, and it's great flavor to it like the cotton candy confection was BOMB with little chocolate chips in it. The two teens working were super nice, offered a sample, and seemed genuinely happy to work there. They were sweet boys. It was basically a ton of vanilla ice cream with peanut butter sauce and chocolate syrup. The smallest amount of actual peanut butter cups was also present. In all actuality the sundae wasn't so bad! This shop is hilarious! It seems to be a highschool kid hot hangout spot and all the workers seem to be highschool kids. They're a funny bunch in there. Ice cream was served in a cup as the picture shows, but it's really good! They have a lot of cool and exciting flavors making it hard to choose which I wanted. I went with Chocomania and Grasshopper...both were really good! Blue Moon looked very cool and I want to try that in the future! A little constructive criticism though, 1 Some of the kids working could use a little schooling on personality like smiling, being friendly and knowing their job so they can answer simple questions asked by customers. 2 The place could use a facelift. It's not very attractive inside and outdated. 3 You need better signage inside promoting your sundaes. As someone who has loved stopping at Sundae's when my family is visiting IL, we may choose to go elsewhere. My first job was at Sundae's, many many years ago and there was always a high standard of keeping everything clean. My family and I went in last night, since we are visiting family, and I was disgusted by the cleanliness of the place. The floors are very dirty, bathroom was gross (my 4yo had to use it) and the ice cream freezers needed to desperately be cleaned. This is a neat little ice cream shop located in DTDG near the Metra station. They have a wide variety of ice cream flavors and can make sundae, floats, smoothies, etc. They do give free samples so if you are indecisive, don't feel shy to ask to try a few samples to help you with your decision. My husband and I came here after going to the Tivoli to watch a movie. It wasn't very busy as there was only one other family in the ice cream parlor. I ordered a single scoop double chocolate ice cream in a sugar cone. My husband got the strawberry milkshake. It absolutely hit the spot! The chocolate was bold and rich while the texture was firm yet creamy. My husband's milkshake was sweet and thick. He wasn't able to drink it with the straw, but luckily they gave him a spoon. After a little bit of time it melted and became more of a milkshake consistency. Service was a little slow, but there was only one other person behind the counter. Evidently they were in the middle of a shift change because after my husband got his milkshake the lady behind the counter left and another person came out to finish making the orders. Visited this little local ice cream store by the Tivoli theater in Downers Grove. It was crowded when we got there, a good sign...many customers enjoying their cones and sundaes outside on a warm summer night and some inside at the few tables they had in the store. The ice cream was good and creamy. I had a scoop of cappuccino on a sugar cone. I also took two frozen bananas dipped in chocolate with nuts home with me. I had one today it was good, too.
