Visiting Canada and decided to visit St Lawrence market. My brother wanted to get Tim Horton and I was like let's see what they have at the market. I'm glad we waited. We found this on Yelp and wasn't sure where it was. Turns out it was at the lower level of St Lawrence market. We went pretty early and there was already a pretty long line. It was worth the wait. The price is very reasonable and in my opinion this is just simple good coffee. Nothing like what they sell at start bucks where they put all kind of stuff to make it sweet. Nothing better than having a cup of good coffee. We had a large cappuccino (16oz) for $4.75 I think. The hot chocolate was very good too and tasted like it was made from real chocolate not the powdered stuff. Both the kids and adults love it. read more

Pretty solid little coffee bar located in St. Lawrence Market, on the lower level. I was browsing the market and wanted to grab a cappuccino after lunch, and Everyday Gourmet was the only place to do so in the food hall. The line was quite long, and there was only one barista working. The poor lady seemed very frazzled and overwhelmed, but I figured if there was such a long line for coffee, it must be pretty good. Eventually it was our turn and our cappuccinos were made fresh to order. They were a little pricey (the going rate for artisan coffee beverages is high everywhere), but the beans were high quality and I enjoyed the pretty latte art. It wasn't the work of a particularly highly skilled barista, but my coffee was hot and tasty. Would I go out of my way to come back to Everyday Gourmet? Probably not for coffee. But they have a wonderful little tea / coffee store as well, and it's a terrific place to find teas and beans and other accessories. read more

If you are travellers just visiting the market, or local want to have cheaper coffee, please DO NOT COME to this store ever!!! They have the most horrible service and no good coffee at all. I visited the store, and when I have my coffee ready, They have lids for you to put on, but their cup and lid quality are so bad, the lids have issue, it couldn't close properly. The coffee spoil on all over my bags and clothes. coffee runouts to about 87% left in the cup, but the staff even doesn't want to give a new cup of coffee to me. She just put another cup outside and give the same cup coffee to me. I ask for new one, She start blame on me, saying that spoil coffee is my fault, not because of their lid. She says I need to buy another cup of coffee... She being so mad,saying that I am demanding???I don't understand how come a customer cannot ask for their demand under this situation. Their coffee charges even more expensive than Starbucks, but are not good coffee at all, just taste so-so, I expect to have better coffee at this higher price that is why ask for a new one, but the coffee is NOT GOOD AT ALL. Their staff attitude makes the store feels so cheap. Starbucks will give you even better service just give you new cup of coffee, and Starbucks have better coffee at same price. So, don't go this cheap store in the market. This is never a true comment, and now I have reasonable reason saying the assistant manager might be racist. If you come to the market, so many good drink place, don't come this one with expensive price and not good quality drink. PLUS, not service and being soo disrespectful from the staff to customer. Inexplicably won't give you ice even though they make iced drinks. Tried to get a Lily which is three shots but they said they could sell me the on the menu 2 shots over ice but not the lily. Makes zero sense. read more

Nice little coffee shop tucked in the corner downstairs of the St. Lawrence Market. I picked up a yummy blueberry scone from the Farmers Market in the South building and made my way here to grab a latte. They had a good assortment of milk, almond, lactose free etc. which is great! The Latte itself was nice and smooth. The espresso was great tasting, not too acidic or dark. It paired well with my blueberry scone! The ladies behind the counter were very nice. My friends go here to buy coffee and they highly recommend the beans. I'm usually here or buy tea. They stock good brands of teas from all over , but I'm usually interested in their decaf selections. I'm always in the market for a nice strong cup of decaf tea that tastes like caffeinated tea and isn't mint or chamomile . :-) Their staff are really nice and if you go when they are not busy, a lot of the times when I go to buy boxes of tea they will give me a few packets of other kinds of teas they think I may enjoy....and that always gets me coming back to buy more tea. I bought a pound of their Muskoka Morning coffee, and it's fantastic. A little darker than I usually prefer my coffee but so tasty that it doesn't matter. They've got a great selection of coffee (and tea, and espresso) and the store is definitely worth checking out if you're a coffee lover like I am. I felt that the staff wasn't particularly friendly or helpful, but I guess that could be chalked up to the fact that it was a busy Saturday morning. The store was a bit messy as well. My one gripe: they won't let you order a latte at the same counter where you purchase your coffee beans - you have to pay for your beans and then go line up in a (much longer) queue to order and pay for your espresso drinks. But you can buy brewed coffee in the coffee bean lineup. Convenient if you just want a latte; inconvenient if you want to try a latte while also buying beans to take home. read more

I try to get a non-Starbucks coffee whenever I have the option. I really enjoy the lattes here, but if you're looking for a good deal, the brewed coffee costs only $1 for a small (8 oz) cup. I've visited a few of the downtown roasters that BlogTO rate highly, and so far Everyday Gourmet is my go-to place for roasted coffee. I particularly enjoy the Bar Gourmet and Bar Italia espresso roasts for my espresso machine, and the maragogype for my French press. It's a pretty cosy, friendly place, and you can see the roaster in action. I haven't been there in a few months as I've been experimenting with roasting at home, but next time I'm at the market I may ask if they sell green beans (though I don't remember seeing any there). I've only bought coffee in bean form from them, but judging by the queues I've seen, they must pull a pretty good shot of espresso too. n.b. If you decide to buy a packet of the fair trade chocolate by the till, and the owner has an amused grin when she rings your purchase through the till, then you've probably picked up the Chilli chocolate and not realised it. My boyfriend and I have been faithful customers of (ok, addicted to) Everyday Gourmet since we bought a grinder a couple years ago. We've been to other roasters in the city for fresh coffee but keep coming back to this place. The selection is amazing and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
