I am so incredibly grateful for Loren at Everything Birds. Today, two of my parakeets got into a fight, and one of them was badly injured. I rushed in with my little bird in a complete panic, not knowing what to do since I've never had to take a bird to the vet before. My animals are my family, and thankfully they're always healthy and well cared for, so this was terrifying for me. The moment I arrived, Loren exactly what to do and truly helped save her life. It took some time to get the bleeding to stop, and we were both scared at first, but thanks to Lauren's gentle, calm, and caring nature, she pulled through. Even sweet Coconut came over, seeming concerned because I was so upset. Anyone who has birds understands the real bond and connection you have with them. I've been taking my birds to Lauren for grooming for the past few years, and every single one of them is comfortable with him because he is always so patient and gentle. I will never take them anywhere else. Loren could have easily turned me away or sent me somewhere else, but instead he stepped in and helped us when we needed it most. I was grateful to find this place after moving to Florida last year. Where i lived in Chicago I had the most amazing bird store nearby for everything (shopping/food/boarding/purchasing a bird), so was happy to find someplace somewhat nearby so that i could run over and stock up on necessities. The location shocked me. I think that's important to share. I was expecting a standard storefront, but that's not what this is. It's located in like a fairgrounds building. It seems like a fairgrounds that has several buildings. It's in the last building. My GPS brought me pretty much right to the entrance, which was awesome cuz otherwise I probably would've missed it! But when your GPS tells you to turn into this weird fairground looking location, it's accurate! The store itself is huge. Which is a plus. That means plenty of space for toys/cages/java trees/food, etc. All this crap takes up so much room! So it's great to have a huge store so that there's options. Prices are a bit high. Now, i get that bird stuff can be expensive and that we're in a recession. But let's be real - it hurts. Nobody WANTS to spend $120 on bird toys that are going to be destroyed within days. But that's part of bird ownership. Plus I've learned to shop around for specific things. Here's what I don't like: the place is filthy. There's kind of a gross coating of dust & dirt on, well, literally EVERYTHING. Which grosses me out. I'm sure a lot of it is because the type of building/location it's in, plus they have like a garage door entrance that appears to just stay up and open all day long. They've got rock/dirt roads so as people drive around it probably generates a lot of dust which comes right into the store. But in addition, it just doesn't seem like they really clean much. Everything just seems dirty and rundown. Their prices on the actual parrots are REALLY high. While I come here for supplies, I probably would never buy an actual bird from them unless the pricing seemed normal. I've been in the bird world for a bit now and consider myself pretty educated on a lot of the pricing. The people I've interacted with seem to vary based on the day. The first time I visited i was less than happy with my interactions. I felt invisible and nobody asked me if i needed help and they just weren't friendly. But I've been back a couple more times and both times people were helpful/friendly. I'm guessing like any other business, it's hit or miss based on who's working that day. HUGE selection of toys. Decent selection of java trees. Ok selection of cages. Overall I'm happy that this place is within a 30-minute ride so that I can stock up on my supplies and definitely recommend it for other bird-nerds!! read more

This place is a wonderland for bird lovers, watchers, or if you just want to hold a bird. There is an allowed interaction with the birds here and a bird or two on someone's shoulder is normal. They have Quakers of every color and Amazon's who will talk your ear off. We have a quaker we bought from here over a year ago and he is healthy and loud but my kids love him. My new baby is from Everything Birds and he has been healthy, happy, and well-adjusted. They have been knowledgeable, supportive, and fun to shop with. I had been planning on purchasing a bird for as long as I can remember. I had a list of options in my head for an appropriate first time bird owner so I went in feeling fairly prepared. A staff member approached me right away to assist. She had a bird on her which is great. I explained what I was looking for- a parrot that could talk one day, but not a screamer, one that can chill at the house, and one that could handle children and isn't a one-person bird. She knew immediately what to pick. And it was one I hadn't even heard of- a Kakariki. He was everything I asked for and more. They loaded me up with the essentials and gave me a small discount on the merchandise and a lot of great tips for food options. Recently, I took him in for grooming which was done quickly and for a donation and they actually remembered him. I was touched they remembered both of us. This review is for Jason and his amazing team. The husband had purchased two macaw cages for our African grey and Eclectus. Obviously too big and I was certain we were stuck with them. I decided to reach out to The store to see if there was anything we could do and I was given Jason's number. After I explained the situation about the un-used cages, he thankfully let me exchange them for the proper size for my two parrots. We got our baby boy Gonzo from them. They we very helpful and knowledgeable about what we need to get started. The staff is amazing we bring him in at least once a month to get a new toy and every three to have his nails trimmed. We also have boarded Gonzo with them and felt like he was going to an extended family for the week!!! We came back to a happy and healthy boy who learned a new phrase while he was away!!!! This is a bird store that is like the bar on "Cheers" - a delightful extension of the bird community where it is a pleasure to shop for your favorite feathered friend, find a new bird companion, or most importantly, talk and just hang out with other people who are just as passionate as you are about their birds. Store owners Kirsten and Jason are a delightful and friendly couple who are both extremely knowledgeable about the birds and everything they sell and have surrounded themselves with equally dedicated and intelligent staff members who will knowledgeably respond to your training, feeding, housing, and toy questions. I spoke at length today with Bella who does expert grooming there. She is caring and had some excellent suggestions for me. She aspires to become an avian veterinarian and really impressed me with her knowledge. The birds in the store are well loved by the staff and handled frequently. They have play space to stimulate them. Their cages are clean and the birds are healthy. This is Florida. We bird folks have a lot of choices. I have been coming to Everything Birds for 10 years. It's like a Pet Smart just for birds. We get our Eclectus groomed ever 3 to 4 months and they are awesome. The only downfall is we live in Treasure Island and it's a little far for us. Wish they would open a store in South Pinellas County. read more

If I could give it less than one star I would. Staff has no clue about the birds. I asked two employees if they knew which ones were males or knew how to tell and neither had a clue. One of them said yeah the males sing. Well I knew that much. So different compared to the original owners who could actually help you. Don't go there unless your just buying a cage or toys. read more

We bring our 13 year old Green Cheek Conure and 23 year old Peach Front Conure monthly for nail trims and wing trims. Bought both new cages, love them! Sometimes we just pop in to see all the beautiful birds and babies while buying our food. Everyone who works there just LOvES their jobs! It shows in how knowledgeable and friendly they are! I am so thankful to the Team at Everything Birds. We purchase our special bird diets here and their toys. We donate to their charity to get their nails trimmed. Our 3 Quaker Parrots were adopted from here. I never enter the store without being asked, "Can we help you?" You see the same faces working there every time we go. We travel from Orlando to purchase our supplies. The Team here does show what excellent customer service should look like. Their knowledge of all birds is amazing.
