Seating and nice ambiance
Natriece S.

Ambiance: A+ = Authentic Vibes & Cultural Immersion Parking: A+ = Safe. Convenient. FREE Service: A+ = Professional. Patient. Polite. Very knowledgeable & attentive. Location: A = Reasonably placed in the local area / easily locatable from dwntwn/ITP/Buckhead Now for the food: For my first trip I tried the $10 curry chicken special with rice and cabbage. I added a side of cocoa bread. And eventually went back to the counter to grab 2 extra sides of curry sauce. Rating: A++++++ Reason: Bold but not overpowering seasoning Spice but not overwhelming to the flavor Big portions but well balanced and all well made Tender meat that melted in my mouth Rice that was fresh not overcooked or tasting previously frozen/reheated Cabbage that still had a small bit but was very tender and not greasy Bread that was sweet without added sugar and not to buttery but not dry This food is so beautifully delicious and yet amazingly down-home. I felt as though I'd slipped back into a quick food stand in Negril and sat at a bench to eat. The pricing is very affordable; best I've experienced in ATL and for the best quality food. There was no ruckus, club vibes, hookah or other distractions. I really enjoyed it and will be back

Oxtail, mac & Cheese a beef patty
Shevon M.

Just stepped off the plane from Jamaica and did not get a chance to enjoy oxtail and needed another Beef Patty. I searched Yelp for the reviews, called them up to confirm what time they closed and that they had oxtail and beef patty available. We were in good shape so headed right over. Because I know I am particular and have tasted some not so good, I asked for a sample of their oxtail... the little piece I received was enough to let me know I was ordering a large. Best Oxtail hands down! Hubby ordered Jerk Chicken with his sauce on the side it was also so good! The chicken tasted like it came off the grill and the jerk sauce was perfect. I needed to know what the curry tasted like as well so paid extra for some curry sauce for my rice. In line with everything else it was also slamming! This is my new spot.. whenever I am in the area I'm stopping in. The lady at the counter was cool and easy to work with. Don't forget to tip people.

Brown Stew Chicken Mac n cheese

Cool spot near my job. They are truly nice ppl from the typical JA spot. Food is good so far I've had the lunch special brown stew and Mac. Next time I'll try something new. I def recommend this gem to anyone looking for good Carribean food.

It's in the Valero parking lot. The customer service was great (comparing to other Jamaican restaurants where the staff is rude), the $10 lunch special are huge portions, the carrot cake was too moist but flavorful. The curry was good and the lunch special comes with a drink. I also love how they have homemade hot sauce for customers. I will definitely swing thru here again!

This place never disappoints. The food is always fresh and very seasoned to taste. The quality is on point. The quality meets expectations. The prices are reasonable. The customer service is always hospitable. There is seating if you want to grab quick lunch but very casual.

Oxtails

This place was so good! The people were nice and the bell was definitely useful! First off, they have lunch ALL DAY which is amazing. There's just a select few items on there, unfortunately oxtail is not for lunch, but it was still amazing! Everything fell off the bone, the rice and beans were so good, they give you plenty of sauce on top, the cabbage was very juicy, but also had that slight crunch and the plantains were bomb! The seasoning were on point here. My boyfriend got the curry goat and he thought it was really good. The meat was very tender and also that came with plenty of sauce. He also got cabbage and rice and beans which he loved. They had the right consistency with the softness and tastes. He also got hot sauce on the side which he said made it better for him. They also make their own hot sauce which was perfect. We wanted to get beef patties. But we'll be back! Very covid friendly! Seats are sat far apart 10/10

I travel a lot and was recommended this restaurant. I ordered rice & peas, cabbage and candied yams. The rice and peas was good the cabbage was bland and the yams tasted like they came straight out of a can & heated up. Not sweet at all. Needless to say I tried to "fix it up" to add some kind of seasoning/flavor. I ended up throwing it away, and being really disappointed because I looking forward to some good food. After looking at the reviews, I'm guessing I came on the wrong day or something.

Jerk Chicken, Cabbage and Plantains! Food is great!!! I'll save this to my favorites!

The food is great! Jerk Chicken and cabbage with red bean and rice! Service was fast and food hot! Ambiance...everything is to go but they have a few tables to dine in.

A picture of downtown Ocho Rios, Jamaica The food reminds me so much of my trips to Jamaica.

This is the best original Jamaican Food you will ever taste. You will never miss a flavor in every dish! Be great to yourself and take a piece of Jamaica with you. I go once a week. 1. Stew Red snapper 2. Curry Goat/white rice 3. Curry Chicken. All of it is good.

Jerk Chicken Lunch Special

Good Jamaican spot on the southside. Mac and else was good but I wanted something a tad bit more traditional on the Mac -- like baked Mac. HOWEVER the cabbage is so good. The jerk chicken was good as well; I got extra sauce on the side. It is spiced. Good customer service . I'll be back to try more menu options .

Curry goat over cabbage with plantain. Not pictured is the ginger beer & the pineapple drink.

Any time that I'm in the Atlanta area, I know that there's a rare chance that I won't find food that I like. Imagine my surprise when I discovered not only an authentic Jamaican restaurant, but one that was fully stocked when I was ready to place my order! If you're active on Twitter like I am, then you know the running joke abt Jamaican restaurants: the staff is rude & the inventory is low. That wasn't the case with this restaurant. I ordered the curry goat & instead of putting it over rice & beans, I opted to try it on top of a bed of cabbage with some sweet plantains on the side. Everything abt my order was beyond phenomenal. It was flavorful & plentiful - it's definitely the dish that makes you sad once it's gone. I will be returning the next time I'm in ATL.

The cake just didn't have a strong sweet potato flavor and it was very dry. I think I'll stick to the pound cake. Cookie is definitely a must and it's so yummy! I am not exaggerating when I say that this place is a gem hidden in plain sight! The few times I've tried to stop in, they were closed...until last weekend when our family schedule and their hours finally aligned. We tried two of the rolled ice cream tacos and one shake. All were delicious and a large enough portion to share. If I have any critique, it is of myself. I know that I like melty ice cream but because I also like to watch people make rolled ice cream, I went with the taco. It was the wrong choice for me. I loved the flavor but wanted it softer; I should have ordered it as a shake. The staff was friendly, the other patrons were friendly, and the space was pristine. My toddler came in demanding water (because GA summer time) and they quickly prepared her a cup of ice water that kept both toddlers satisfied until their shake was ready. Bonus points for the little sitting area in the back of the shop with a mounted TV playing kiddie movies. That TV took the job of entertaining all three littles while I waiting for our order. tl;dr it's worth it to stop here.

The service was very friendly; I was greeted right away. They offer non-dairy options, which was perfect and I had the Thai tea with boba, I think brown sugar flavor but I'm not positive. I found the drink to have a decent taste, but it was very watery.
