There's not much in the area to eat so we decide to try Fireside. It was busy when we came in at lunch on a Thursday but we had our food in about 5 mins so it was worth the wait. I ordered the Jerk chicken "small" and it's two meals in total. The overall flavor is pretty good but the chicken is a little dry. When it's not cooked to order you have to expect that some. The rice and beans is really tasty but I had to put some hot sauce on it, if you can't do spicy this is a good place for you. I should have ordered the gravy on the rice and beans. It is a basic strip center building so it's not super nice but the dining room is clean so that's good. Overall the staff was nice and it was a good experience so we will probably come back to try something different. If you're in the area it's worth a try for $10. read more

The food is good but your customer service is sometimes very bad! I heard a server verbally abuse a customer saying she wanted free food and to not talk to him if she sees him again after I saw her pay her bill and ordered a lot of food. She had said hello to him and then he attacked her. Seems it was about the size of the container. Just charge more or put the same amount in the larger container. The small take out container causes the gravy to spill all over people. . Even if there is a disagreement on cost that is absolutely no way to treat customers. I usually love their food when it comes to lunch...BUT today was my first time having breakfast I ordered two ackee and saltfish (generous portion) I was very surprised that it came up to about $50 no drink no add ons at all (that ya price?) ok cool I paid for it. I got home tasted It & literally was the worst ackee and saltfish I ever tasted in my life it was almost a disgrace fr the ackee was soft and boiled out , the salt fish had absolutely no salt at all and there was way to much tomato and no flavor at all. In fact I literally had to add salt just to try to eat it. NOW I see why she added so much to my plates she was tryna to get rid of it fast she must've known it was terrible. I recommend their lunch menu this breakfast was traumatizing ngl waste of $50. Wouldn't brought it back but I'm sure it would've been a hassle tryna to get a refund. I could not decide what to order, they have so many great options! I decided on the medium-sized salmon with cabbage, rice, and peas. The cabbage wasn't too soggy and had a slight crunch. The sauce on the salmon was a tomato base and amazing with grilled onions and peppers. The quality of food and the amount was definitely worth the price! I asked the short light-skinned woman fixing my plate which did she prefer, the jerk or curry chicken, and she responded "idk, it depends on what you prefer. People prefer different things." I liked to jump over that counter because WHAT??? Just for us to pay $38 and HATE the food. The jerk chicken was burnt to the bone, the curry chicken was almost slimey as if it was sitting there all day in steam, and neither of the two had any flavor whatsoever, which we should've known because you couldn't even smell not one lick of spice in the air when you pulled up or even when you walk in. Everyone was a native do therefore the food must taste like home. I ordered oxtail, rice and peas, and cabbage. The rice was delicious and the cabbage as well. The oxtails were tender as can be but the seasoning was surprisingly lacking. The sauce looked thick and rich but it didn't wow me. I should've ordered what the 5 others before ordered. Not only was it Manish wata (my favorite), it was full of meat, carrot, cho cho, finger dumplin, and nuff flavor. I got the large for $8.50 and after pouring a full bowl still had plenty left. My friend got the jerk chicken. He liked it a lot, but be warned - it's got a lot of heat! It's hot bar style, so everything is ready to eat. They also give you a lot of food for money you pay.
