If you like spicy food, this hole in the wall gem does not disappoint. The jerk chicken was nice and tender with homemade Mac n cheese and green beans cooked with potatoes. Also, I tried the ginger tea which was different and delicious. The regular sweet tea was overly sweet.

We ordered two plates, and tried both the fried livers and the fried gizzards, and both were very solid with good seasoning and good crisp. We also thought that the mashed potatoes, candied yams, and the rice & gravy were all very abundant and seasoned very well. The peach cobbler was also a hit with the right amount of consistency and sweentess. The beignets were a pleasant surprise because we had never tried them with honey and after trying it that way, we could be down with it. On the other hand, the shrimp with grits had extremely plain grits and extremely salty shrimp, and mixing them altogether definitely made the dish tasted more balanced but it didn't change the fact that the shrimp was still salty and the grits didn't catch too much of the salt on the shrimp. The fried okra had soggy outer shell. The gumbo was a bit watery and didn't have enough roux, and the rice included was soggy which seemed like it was out for a while and heated up. Aside from food, it was worth noting that we were initially placed on the list and were told that we'd receive a text upon a table ready, and unfortunately we never received one, despite seeing people that came in later getting tables. After we went back inside 30 minutes later to see what happened, they didn't give us an explanation, but managed to get us the next table. This anecdote made us confused when we first sat down, but we decided to no longer worry about what happened and was in a mood ready to dine.

If you go in the front door there are a few steps to climb. If you need flat entrances they are around back. The host took us to our seats and explained the buffet to us. It is only a buffet place. But you can order a take out as well. There were two tables of food and a dessert table. The salad bar seemed to never end. Everything was cut fresh with no limp vegetables or lettuce. Marilyn brought me coffee and Bev Tea. It was plenty hot and fresh. I absolutely love their coffee. I had two cups before I even finished my plate of food. Marilyn was very attentive to each table and came to ours often. After I finished my salad. I saw Carie filling a plate for someone. When she was done I asked her if she could get me a chicken breast. My joint pain and back pain had been extreme this week. Using the walker was even painful. Carie said, "Absolutely !" She returned quickly and with a smile. The staff is so kind. The manager Tommy came by our table to see how we were enjoying our meal. I let him know the salad bar was perfect. The chicken I enjoyed was tender and juicy. I also noticed the teamwork between the staff was easy and natural like a choreographed dance. Bev and I plan to return for the Easter Sunday Meal. Check this pace out and tell them Willie and Bev sent you. Ms. Willie Conway.
