It's small but not - lol - one long narrow dining area then a space off that rectangular in shape with more tables and access to the bathroom! The menu is huge for both breakfast and lunch and dinner. The food is simple but delicious portions are good too! I opted for the corn beef (pretty sure from the can) and grits - extremely creamy and well seasoned and 2 medium eggs - eggs were a bit north of medium and almost looked poached but nothing to really complain about! The coffee was weak but for a diner appropriate lol! . You could tell the locals support regularly as the staff knew them by name and their order - love that about family owned spots! read more

Stopped by this restaurant on our way off the island after a fantastic week in Pawleys Island. Wanted a bit of breakfast before our drive and we hit the jackbox! Everything was hot, fresh and delicious, and the service was friendly and fast. And the place - feels like you've stepped back in time! I guess this restaurant has changed owners. If you loved the old Litchfield Diner, this is not it. I ordered crab cakes and I knew they were not going to be good when I saw them but what I did not, in my wildest dreams, expect to be served crab cakes made from FAKE crab. Yes, you read that right. Imitation crab meat in a crab cake. This was, needless to say, disgusting. And shocking to be honest. Nowhere on the menu did it indicate that the crab cake platter or sandwich was going to be fake crab. I didn't say anything to the server because I just didn't want to mess with it. This is actually insulting to your customers. I am giving this place two stars because our server was friendly and attentive. But we will definitely not be back. My husband's flounder was greasy and not particularly fresh tasting. I'm also not at all confident it was actually flounder even. Sad experience today. This used to be my favorite breakfast place in the area. Today I ordered build your own omelette with buttered grilled toast. The omelette was to have provolone, cheddar, onions and green peppers. The server delivered the food and the toast was dry and toasted not grilled. He took it back to have it redone and I asked the cheddar be remove from our bill because there was only provolone in the omelette. I was kind and in no way short or mean in either conversation. The owner returns with the grilled toast ... slams it on our table and yells at me if I am ever rude to his server I will ask you to leave. He turned and stomped off with no opportunity to respond. I was in shock and other patrons around me were as well. The lady across from us said that she heard nothing rude in what was said. If this is his treatment of customers I have no desire to support his business. We paid the bill and left. We eat there probably 10 to 12 times a year but no more! read more

Great place for breakfast. It's always a good sign when the larking lot is full on a Thursday morning. I had the fish (flounder) and grits with stewed tomatoes. My husband had the pancakes with eggs and bacon. His favorite pancakes are fluffy filled with fresh blueberries. These were amazing! It cost $1.50 more but so worth it. They also offered chocolate chip pancakes for the same price. Service was fast and very friendly. It's obvious the locals love this place. They're celebrating their 50th anniversary! Wow. I don't know where to start. I was totally surprised. Not my first choice ever, but my wife and daughter wanted to come here. I was looking for great seafood and everything I looked at on Yelp was closed today (Sunday). I've never ordered chicken and waffles before in 52 years and I can't begin to tell you how fabulous it was. 12 on a scale of 1-10. Yes it's a dive. Yes social distancing during this pandemic. Basically the place should be on Diners Drive-In's and Dive's. It's the coolest little southern diner I've ever been in. Service was great, I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak, complete with gravy, two perfectly done over easy eggs, hash browns, and a biscuit. Some of the BEST food we've ever eaten. Order the biscuits and gravy, or cream chipped beef. Order anything really, it's all incredible.

Immediately when you walk in this restaurant, you notice the place is dirty and unkept. Crumbs and trash are littered throughout this dump. And the clientele don't look out of place. So after ordering breakfast from my sticky menu, I expected a plate of blandness. But to my surprise, for the price, this was decent quality food. Scrambled eggs seasoned perfectly and fluffy. Flavorful bacon and potatoes. Pancakes are a bit large and unwieldy, but they taste great and have surprisingly good consistency considering how thick they are prepared. Seriously, one pancake is enough for breakfast here. So...I feel mixed about this place. Obviously there is management who has no pride for the state of the restaurant. But on the other hand, you get a chef who has pride in their food and deserves to cook for a nicer place than this. What a shame! read more
