Such a cute little unassuming place
    Sarah K.

The restrooms are porta-John's, but the place itself is so cute and unassuming. The food was good, and portions were perfect for us. The staff was friendly and fast, it's not a five-star stop, but consistent, clean, and good food.

    Another birthday dinner !!

Hands down the best seafood in town ! I'm a local here, 7th generation in fact, and we've been coming here since they opened! This week my son came home to visit. This was the one thing he wanted other than Mama's cooking, SeeWee fried seafood! He's leaving in the morning! We came for lunch. We both had delicious Lunch Seafood Platters. Our server Kerry was the best we've ever had here! The service was fast, she spaced out our apps and the food arriving perfectly !! Wonderfully shabby is how I'd call the atmosphere. Very down home and that's the kid of cooking and service you'll get here! It's the one all of us locals recommend!! Enjoy!

We love Seewee for that southern seafood dive! It's a no frills place but you'll find great food. It's way bigger than it appears with parking around, right off the highway for easy access. We've taken almost everyone when visiting us! Lunch and dinner both equally great! Usually get one of the specials, they offer great choices of friend, blackened, grilled etc. It then meets everyone's preferences. Great prices and even better desserts. All cakes/pies are made in house and you must always get dessert even if it's to go! We love having a great local place to support! Good for small or large groups! Staff is always so nice and attentive, never any issues here!

Fried oysters, greens, fried green tomatoes, red rice

A great hole in the wall, locals only type spot. You'll find as good of fried fish here as anyone in the Charleston area. Add in the classic southern menu and you've got a winner! The hushpuppies that came with the meal were a crowd pleaser and nearly everyone in our group of 11 enjoyed their meal. My fried oysters were excellent. Perfect batter, fresh, light, and just the right bite to them. They were my favorite protein of any of the tables entries I tried. The red rice was a super flavorful winner. And the greens were solid. I was wishing for more crunch on the fried green tomato's but they were still tasty. Fried shrimp were a winner. The fried flounder was maybe the least favorite dish. Still solid but not enough to come back for. On the downside, we waited nearly an hour for our table. And upon checking in with the host, it sounded like they'd forgotten about our large group and wanted to split us between a couple tables. Ultimately the food, service, and ambiance made up for it. Just be sure to stay on top of the host when you go

Late afternoon arrival and in search of a place to eat I consulted good old YELP. I'm familiar with restaurants around Bluffton and HHI but not Mt Pleasant but YELP to the rescue ! We found SeaWee and fell in hungry - glad we did! Specialty is country comfort food with plenty of fish dishes. They start you out with complimentary hush puppy's. The HP's were sweet, fried right and fresh - so good I asked for a second basket Next came the flounder platter . You can have your fish friied or blackened - I did mine blackened. Fish was delicate and well cooked- only complaint was I felt it could have had more blackening. The platter comes with 3 (yes THREE!) Sides . Now there were many choices but today I chose fried green tomatoes, sweet potatoes, and butter beans I would definitely stop in again , the place has an excellent list of southern country desserts and is a real experience to a throwback restaurant in the south

We came here for lunch on the advice of some locals and they were spot on. The place has a wonderfully authentic vibe, they are being themselves and you will leave with a far better experience than if you had chosen any of the chain competitors in the area. If you have a ride, it is worth the changeup from downtown Charleston. We look forward to returning.

Great Value. Wanted to love it ...maybe we just got the wrong items. Heading into Charleston and stopped in for lunch. It's in a cute old home. Service was great. The hush puppies were great. The oyster poboy was good but I don't like mayo on it and kind of wished there was an aoli or remoulade for it. The fried flounder sandwich was good. If I am being picky, both were on the same hoagie roll that was a little too much bread for me. I got onion rings as my side. They were good but a little under cooked.

Took a break from the birds of prey facility for lunch at the Seewee restaurant. It is a busy place but service was great and so was the fish. Didn't care for the sweet potato "fries" as they were a little thick for me. The hush puppies were very tasty. Prices were very reasonable

We were actually asked if we would be willing to sit at a table with others. We did not mind. Unfortunately they were out of shrimp and catfish and my wife was wanting shrimp and grits. Our son ordered the Hog Dog, (hot dog with pulled pork) my wife ordered the Fat Boy burger, and I ordered the country fried steak. Their order came with fries and I ordered mashed potatoes and coleslaw with my dinner. Hush puppies and a corn muffin came with my meal. It took about 25-30 minutes for our meal to arrive. My dinner was delicious. Country fried steak was tender and crispy. Mashed potatoes had chunks which I like, the coleslaw was creamy with great taste, hush puppies were fantastic, and the only disappointment was the corn muffin was not warm. My wife loved her burger. Our son enjoyed the hog dog. Service was adequate. For me considering that the food was cooked to,order, I was quite satisfied with the service and the food.

You order, they plate it, you pay and either take it to go or to sit in the small dining area. Service is very quick and efficient, and you can tell there are a lot of regulars who come here because the staff joked and laughed with them as they waited in line. Speaking of the line, it moved fast but while we were there a woman came around with a tray and offered little cups of brightly colored something. I chose red and was delighted to see it was a frozen punch, red is cherry. My friend got orange and he said it was like a mango or peach flavor. I ordered the fried chicken, with cabbage and red rice. The cabbage was absolute fire, it was so tender and delicious. The red rice was good, but a bit on the dry side. I feel like had I been there when a fresh pan was brought out it would have been a lot better. The fried chicken was perfectly cooked and had a flaky crust but it needed salt and the tables did not provide any. I would come back, there are so many other things I would love to try and this place is busy for a reason.

We parked ourselves and our bags at one by the front wall and settled in for our fried porkchops and fried chicken, lima beans, cabbage, red rice, mac and cheese, and corn bread. And while we waited for our food, one of the kitchen staff walked around passing out free frozen punch. It was good! This was the perfect choice for our last meal in Charleston. We were in and out in 45 minutes, full and satisfied. The only thing is we are still confused about pricing. We think there was an error because somehow we paid $29 for one meal and $19 for the other. Can't be right...but we didn't have time to sort all that out. Pay it forward.

On the coastal Atlantic, we recommend Acme Low Country Kitchen. You get five-star food in a rustic setting that could benefit for a bit of a makeover -- but only a touch or two. Excellent service compliments the food. On our plate: The "Light: House, including sauteed shrimp, seared scallops and a house-made, fresh crab cake that comes with a caveat that a shell chip or two might be mixed (we call that authentication). All were perfectly prepared and ample sized. This wasn't a shrimp-and-chips drive-through; this was a meal. Our sides: Collards (this is the low country) and fried Brussel sprouts, again well prepared. Price: $38.25 and among the higher-priced items on the seafood-heavy menu but worth it. Others in our party, including two non seafood eaters, chose the pecan fried chicken (two breast with one each going home because of the size) with another going with the Carolina Duo of the chicken and short ribs. Will we return? Yes. There are other options we've yet to try as our visits to Charleston increase but this was a real treat. Even better, it is near the fabled Dingy beach bar where we ducked in to watch the Kentucky Derby. We could spend our retirement years at The Dingy but that's another review to come. Acme is a 4.5-star review with the only points shaved because it just needs a little updating (after the season, perhaps). The food and service more than make up for it.

We walked in and the place was emptier than a church on a Wednesday night, yet somehow we were told to head on over to the bar, wait for a table, and go ahead and order ourselves a drink. Didn't make much sense, but we did as we were told. Then we stood there a good 10 minutes while the bartender, who let us know he's studying to be a dentist up in Spartanburg, was busy chatting away with another customer like we weren't even there. When he finally got around to us, it felt like we were more of an inconvenience than paying customers. But the real kicker came after we finally got our drinks. The manager came up, and I kid you not, told us we had to leave the restaurant and go out to the parking lot to finish them. No explanation, just attitude, and not a polite one either. To be honest, the manager seemed like she might have had a little too much Easter spirit, if you catch my drift. The whole interaction was downright combative and made us feel completely unwelcome. What really got me, though, was the poor hostesses and waitstaff. They apologized to us over and over and quietly let us know this kind of situation is something they deal with on a daily basis. We even heard her speaking sharply to another customer, which made it clear this wasn't just a one time issue. Honestly, the whole experience felt like a bad trip to the dentist and cost about the same as a root canal. All in all, it was a mess from start to finish, rude, confusing, and about as un Southern hospitality as you can get. I would think twice before going back, y'all.
