Each of the volunteers was wonderful to talk to and it was obvious they loved the animals who were there and wanted them in the best possible home. He was rescued from the border of Mexico to prevent that dog shelter from euthanizing him, his brother and mother . We couldn't have been more pleased with the experience and the pop who is now 10 years old . I have great admiration for the San Antonio Great Dane Rescue who rescued a 3 lb Terrier poodle puppy. I cannot say enough good things about the experience and follow up . We were able to bring him back for follow-up shots without any problems

I'm writing this review here because there's no way to contact these people. They have a facebook…read morepage and while they read your messages, they often don't respond (we can see you!). We picked up a super cute puppy a couple weeks ago that they told us was timid and calm. He was likely only that way because he was afraid and incredibly sick. The day he got here, we noticed an eye infection. We setup a trainer and then the next day scheduled an appointment with the vet. We didn't get to the insurance right away because, you know, we had a new dog to deal with. We finally got it setup after about 48 hours. (Turns out it doesn't kick in for 72 hours, which is important.) Another 48 hours later, he's met a trainer and we have him at the vet (which the rescue spoke to us about ahead of time and agreed was the right move). Guess what? It's not just an eye infection but also a massive ear infection. They also wanted to do blood tests because not acting right. Now we're out $400 at the vet (also some on the trainer but that's our choice). We informed the rescue and they told us that he didn't have those problems when we got it. Let me reiterate: MASSIVE EAR INFECTION. The kind of thing that has progressed due to neglect. Thankfully he had that OBVIOUS eye infection or we never would have noticed. Since he's very sick, the rescue agreed to extend the seven day trial run "for a couple more weeks." Great news, he's super cat reactive. He's also started nipping our toddler. Nipping is normal for a puppy but the trainer and the vet both commented about how much he's doing it because it's more than expected. Fast forward to today. The vet called. He has two other infections, including Giardia. That's right, Giardia. That's communicable to every animal and person in home. The vet says it's something he couldn't have gotten from his mother or from the kennel. So now I have a cat reactive dog that has been biting my toddler and is pooping all over my house (because Giardia) and might get us all sick. We've emailed, we've reached out on facebook, they're not responding. They only accept returns (not a word I'm inclined to use for a living organism but I don't have a better one) on Saturdays and only if they acknowledge it. We'd love to keep him but we now have a health and safety risk in our house and he just can't stay. I'm bringing him back whether they ever respond or now and they can all get Giardia instead.

Before Ronnie came here, I had already paid, the Same Money for another board,and, train program through Dog Wise. Ronnie already knew her basic obedience commands before she went. We hired them because we needed help with her resource guarding and wanted her exposed to real, life situations and people. She came home knowing how to "place" on a cot, but that was about it.
