The food was okay but I would like to complain about one particular server. Unfortunately, I was not able to get the name but she is the tall blond female with a very very thick European accent. When it came to paying the bill, it was not appreciated that she literally hovered around you while you paid and when the tip was not into her liking, her demeanour changed. She was condescending and irritable. It was not appreciated that she made it appear that we owed her for serving us and it was not necessary to state "You're in Canada, you should know better" We are seasoned travellers and have travelled far beyond Canada and although tipping is encouraged, it should not be shoved into the faces especially on tourists. Her "attentiveness" and "smiles" were only after a huge tip. Immediately her whole persona changed when it was not to her liking. We were so surprised that this unassuming place had great food. The first night I had the Parpadelle with beef and my friend had the lamb shank. We were impressed at how delicious our meals were. They gave generous portions so I was able to take half the pasta back to the hotel and had it the next day. The staff were great too. read more

Came here based on the good reviews and it was pretty good. The ambience is nothing special, bit nice. It is a best Western hotel restaurant after all. I ordered the brisket sandwich and upgraded my fries to poutine. It was actually quite good. My daughter ordered a burger and my wife got the spinach salad. Nothing was spectacular, but it was okay. Our waitress was nice and when we had a problem with the ribs we ordered, they took it right back and didn't charge us. We wanted something close to our hotel and this fit the bill. read more

Who would have ever thought that one of the most highly rated restaurants in Jasper, is at the Best Western Hotel. I thought people had lost their minds..... Until we tried it for ourselves. We left our hotel to go to the Inn Grill at the BW. We were determined to get a good meal for a fair price. Our expectations were exceeded. The chicken cob salad was enough for two. Fresh shredded chicken, black olives, avocado, boiled eggs and blue cheese mixed with crispy romaine lettuce. And it wasn't swimming salad dressing. We ate every single bit of it. If they have the $25 prime rib special you are in luck. Slightly fatty, but really tender. Came with small bits of vegetables and your choice of potatoes. The Yorkshire pudding was a perfect accompaniment to wipe that plate clean. After all that, we made room for dessert. Chocolate raspberry Creme brulee made just right with crispy top. The strawberry cheesecake with fresh fruit on the side. I would be remiss if I didn't tell you the service was outstanding. That twig of a girl handled the whole patio like a champion. High 5 to her! We came here two nights in a row since it was right next to our hotel. This restaurant is located next to the hotel pool so if you sit in the dining room you can see people swimming through the window. Our server was very nice and we did not have to wait very long for the food. The menu was pretty limited for a restaurant that looked so nice but had a good variety of food. Overall it is very clean and comfortable but we would not have come here if it had not been downstairs from our rooms. Also don't forget to use the 15% off coupon the hotel gives you when you check in. read more

The beef was great, very tender, although the rest of the dish was so-so. Two measly sticks of carrot for the "side", and I had asked for rice but got chips instead. This little gem is tucked behind the hotel and just steps from the Chateau! I wish I had checked it out sooner! Didn't want pizza so took a chance - came to pick up - saw the $2 a shuck oysters and thought I was in heaven! We had nice dinner there but I felt very angry about the breakfast customer service there, there were three waitresses only one with smile. The worst is the manager come to say " messy, messy, always messy" after we did the payment and 15%tips, we even didn't understand what's wrong. Why no comment before payment? (We had three kids with us)Because of lack time, I didn't have time to argue with her, but I feel very angry about this. I strongly don't recommend this restaurant for my friends. read more

The service and the chefs are second to none. I dined here alone and was attended to with the upmost punctuality and kindness. I had the crab cakes followed with their chicken picatta. The picatta's wine sauce was superb. Mikey, Derrick and Enesto in the kitchen deserve rave reviews. Dine here and I am sure these gentlemen will not disappoint. 5 star rating. My family and I are on day 4 of our Banff/Jasper trip and our meal at the Inn Grill was definitely the best one so far. We got the prime rib, salmon, and beef and mushroom pasta, and they were all really good. Portions are generous too; we are stuffed to the brim and very satisfied. Prices range from the teens to thirties which isn't cheap but seems to be standard for these touristy areas. The restaurant is well decorated, spacious, and well lit, and they have a beautiful outdoor patio area as well. Overall will definitely come back if not during this trip then next time I visit Jasper! read more

A true surprise! We ate here twice, both times it was excellent. I have smoked ribs for almost 30 years, these were as good or better than mine! The steak was exquisite - perfect medium rare, tender flavorful. The BBQ sauce did not overwhelm the meat flavors but complimented the total experience. Our waitress handle our rather large party of 15 effortlessly! And to the front crew - so sorry we drove you crazy but as I bragged about the food, more friends added to our party! I found this restaurant since I was staying at Best Western. I was not quite sure what to expect but decided to try it out and was pleasantly surprised. I had the Compose salad pictured below and a bison Burger with Caesar salad. I also enjoyed an organic lager beer. Annie our server was great as well. My only suggestion is to freshen up the coustini (cheese bread served with Caesar). It seemed stale to me which was out of line given the quality of the other items. read more

This is for the breakfast "buffet" service. I'm on a family vacation currently visiting the various national parks here in Canada. Yesterday was our first night here in Jasper and am staying at the Best Western right next to this restaurant. I give this review with the full understanding that morning service is busy and that dealing with tourists is not the most fun. Nonetheless, if you work in hospitality, your job is to show hospitality in your service. Other than the overall slow service, the biggest problem was when I asked for a to-go coffee cup. The server (I don't want to mention her full name but it starts with an "O") had such a bad attitude over it. She turned around and literally stormed to the kitchen before I could finish my sentence; I actually needed two to-go cups as my father in law wanted one too. Had she waited the extra two seconds for me to finish my sentence she wouldn't have had to go twice. She came back with two empty cups and looked even more annoyed when I asked for coffee. She was so aggressive when pouring the coffee, sticking the entire spout in the cup and just pouring really fast and hard. Obviously really annoyed... My mother in law finally said, "you are so kind" to see if she would be any nicer but in a super exasperated tone she goes, "Could I help you with ANYTHING ELSE???" Dude lady... With that attitude I would be too scared to ask for anything else. I think the management has to train their staff to actually be more hospitable and to manage their stress level. Last minute decision to head out for dinner, restaurant was busy but staff made an effort to fit me in. The menu has a fairly good selection for both the hungry and the light eater they feature a daily special as well as have a vegetarian option including pizza's. My meal this evening was the baby back pork ribs with a side salad. The main course comes with seasonal vegetables and your choice of potato, fries or rice. The ribs were tender and fell off the bone and had a nice bbq sauce that wasn't too heavy or sweet, the side salad garden greens was nicely presented and had a light dressing. We decided to eat dinner here since we were staying at the hotel, so it was easy to get to, especially with kids. It's a really nice restaurant when you get inside, so we were worried that maybe it wasn't kid friendly, but it definitely is. It's a small menu, but it was still difficult to make a decision because everything looked so good! My husband had a stuffed crust pizza, which he loved, although he said it was a bit salty. I had the fish and chips, which was really good. It was a different take on it, with the fish being served on a skewer, like a kabob, and it came with Cajun fries, which were a nice change. After checking 4 other hotels we checked in at the Best Western since it was the cheapest! For our money we got an actual studio apartment! It was great. Since it was late we didn't feel like driving around for a place to eat so read the reviews and decided to try the Inn. No 1/2 off happy hour and No discount for staying at the hotel, BUT is it was very good food! I had the Balboa and it was probably one of the best sandwiches I have had in a long time. My husband (vegetarian) had the vegeburger. He commented to the waitress that it was one of the best he has had and liked having the sprouts. She said one of the chefs if Vegetarian so that may have added to it. All around it was a nice setting and good food! And an easy walk back to our apartment!! read more

Wow...ate here last night and again tonight. Ate at the bar last night and started with steak frites (truffle fries, sliced steak, sauce and mushrooms)....for an appetiser. The food was bland and the service wasn't very good either, I ordered the beef pasta and there were full cloves of garlic in it, i love garlic but I accidentally ate one and it was disgusting and left a terrible taste in my mouth,. Stayed here for a get away from Edmonton for a weekend. It was easy to find since we had to walk from the train. We had the loft style room it's was nice and clean but the buildings were in need of updating.
