2nd visit to Evil Olive and cocktails were unique and strong. We also tried the food this time and my grilled cheese w/onion rings and my husband's hamburger w/fries were so delicious. Customer service was exceptional and we enjoyed sitting outside before the heat arrives in SA. The prices are also wonderful for the quality of the food & drinks. Glad we found our local neighborhood bar!

Calling all Saints fans!!! Evil Olive is the place to be on Saints game day! They have raffles, a DJ and hookah to set the vibe right during the game. Service was good, considering the place was filled with people and very busy. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap, which was pretty good!

Not sure what happened to my original review. But this place continues to amaze me. They serve chicken fried steak to fish and chips to everything in-between. I've had great white Russians and old fashioneds here. Sometimes these drinks can be hard to come by made correctly. My chicken tenders were delicious. I haven't tried many other food items yet. They have karaoke on Wednesdays and Thursdays and the rotation is great. They also sometimes play Singo. I had fun guessing the song titles when they play the music. I've also been during live music nights and the bands I've seen have been pretty decent. I'm really impressed by the wide variety of food, drinks and activities at this spot. It's mostly casual attire to business casual. There is a decent amount of seating though best to arrive before 9pm for a good spot. The patio is nice as well. I've really enjoyed service from Celeste, Kelly and Rene. These are the main ones who've helped me with fast, friendly service.

Second time here. Drinks are very good and they have friendly bartenders. Seems lk an older crowd that comes but it's a vibe.

Chicken tenders basket on the right, chicken wrap and "tricked out" tater tots on the left. Drinks; Moscow mule, Washington apple.

I think the food was really great and the highest point of the night. The chicken was hot, crispy, crunchy, seasoned. The fries and tots were fresh, hot and delicious. Even the ranch tasted homemade. The menu is great IMO, I love the customizable options you can add to the sides. I would come back and try more of it. I'd say the place itself caters to a lively older/adult crowd of regulars. You're gonna hear some classic music and good vocals on karaoke night. They hired an enthusiastic and fun DJ. Lots of colorful lighting, basic high tops and tables, just comfortable and simple. Was a little let down that the service didn't care to cater much to us even after expressing it was our first time in. They were nice and competent just not overly warm or welcoming. Finally, the drinks were probably the true disappointment. They were very watered down/weak. And for the cost? I truly have a strong suspicion that there was no alcohol. My boyfriend even ordered a double after being disappointed with his first drink, and it just further solidified the lack of alcohol. We decided to just enjoy our meal and then head to our usual bar after. Overall, I'd say eat here for lunch or Happy Hour so you're paying a more fair price for the drinks, as opposed to dinner- like we did.

Who doesn't love a good dive bar! we've been coming to evil Olive for more than a few years now and have a great time every single time. We've gotten to know a lot of the servers and the bartenders. They are all simply just amazing. We have the best time and we'll always come back to evil Olive. I do wish they still had live band karaoke, because that was the ultimate best!

We found a hidden gem in visiting @evilolive_sa yesterday. Had great service, great food and drinks and great value! When I was searching on Yelp for restaurants with fish and chips, Evil Olive was among the ones with mention of fish and chips. We thought to try it. Dad and I shared a plate and my husband had his own plate. For $11.75, you get 4 pieces of fish! Since we ordered the entrée, adding a side salad was an extra $1! Drinks were all $1 off. Our margarita and well vodka drink were so reasonable. The only slight miss was the fried mushrooms. A bit too much batter there but the gravy was good. We enjoyed the outdoor seating. Kelly and Lisa were great servers. We'll surely be back. My husband wants to try their gator sandwich.

I love Evil Olive so much. The food is sneaky good. You know what I mean. Like WAY BETTER than you'd think it would be, drunk or not. Kelli is the best bartender I have ever known in my life and probably will ever know. The quesadillas, the mozz sticks, the wings, the nachos, the sandwiches (all of them; I have had all of them) the burgers, everything is amazing. Everything. I will love this place until I die because the company, the vibes, the service and the quality are exactly what I need. I hope you always come to Evil Olive. I love this place.

Great neighborhood sports bar! Extremely nice bartenders and regulars. They make a good burger too.

I was greeted pretty soon after I took a seat at the bar. The bartender was friendly and asked if I wanted a food menu. I plan on trying their food another day I ordered a Blue Moon which the bartender did put a orange slice on as it is traditionally served. As I was getting close to finishing my beer, the bartender asked if I wanted another one so I would say the bartender was attentive. I ordered one more and decided to close out. The bill was pretty reasonable for two beers and only came to about 10 dollars maybe closer to 11. I would say this bar has a Dive Bar feel to it. I ordered the fried catfish while she went with the steak sliders and a margarita. The catfish plate was impressive -- plenty of lightly battered catfish piled on top of a huge serving of waffle fries. The fish was cooked just right, not overly fried or greasy, and it definitely filled me up. I would absolutely order it again. My wife wasn't as impressed with the steak sliders, and we both agreed her waffle fries were a little too salty. On the positive side, she really enjoyed her margarita, which helped make up for the meal a bit. One thing we both really appreciated was that they offer a 15% discount for Military and Veterans, which is always a nice gesture to see. Overall, it was still a good first experience. I'll definitely be back for the catfish, and my wife said she'd try something different next time. Nice atmosphere, good service, and worth checking out if you haven't been before.

I finally put it on this year's schedule and planned to go with a group of ten. But, as the day drew nearer, folks just started cancelling for various reasons, until we finally ended up with a party of five today. When we arrived, I was surprised at just how much of a "bar and grill" this was. I started getting nervous about the food. I know we've all been to bars that had horrible food before. Fortunately, this is not one of those bars. The food here was really good. We started with an order of fried mushrooms served with gravy and deviled eggs. I'm not a fan of fried food, but the others all seemed to enjoy them. There was a huge mound of them that all but disappeared. I opted for the deviled eggs- one of my favorite foods. These were topped with a crunchy strip of bacon and served with a pile of pickled jalapeno slices. The were super delicious! On our member's recommendation, I tried the orange chicken served with fried rice for my entree, as did two others. I was overwhelmed with the gobs of food the server sat in front of me. There were at least twenty bite-sized nuggets of chicken sitting on top of a bed of fried rice. That bed was obviously a California King! They were lightly covered in the orange sauce, but still crunchy. It was a very satisfying meal. I had the other half for supper, and it was almost as delicious heated up in the microwave. One of our people had a pepperoni pizza. It was probably about 18". The crust was amazingly thin. It just looked awesome to me. My friend enjoyed it, but carried a lot home with her. The fifth person in our group had the Reuben sandwich. She said it was delicious, but was put off by the amount of fat on the meat. Encore makes their own pastrami. The chef explained to her that the fat on the pastrami was what most people thought made it such a delicious meat. I know it looked great to me. I will most likely have that next time I visit, and there will be a next time.

We had a bad experience in the past but the restaurant had turned itself around with new management. Since then, we started to come all the time again, especially during Crawfish season. I frequently buy 1-2 pounds of crawfish and my husband 1 pound of shrimp so we are VERY familiar with the portions expected. Two visits ago, I ordered 2 pounds of crawfish but the portion appeared closer to 1.5 pounds but my server said that ai was the only table that ordered 2 pounds so it was correct. I let that slide. I decided that in the future, I would order 1 pound and order another pound later to ensure that I can see the exact portions. Yesterday, I stopped by after a long run. I ordered 1 pound of crawfish and my husband ordered 1 pound of shrimp ($21.99 for 1 pound and $13.99 for 1/2 pound). When our order came, the portions were half of what was expected. I approached the front manager. He took to the back and weighed it, we receive 1/2 pound each but was charged 1 full pound. To fix it, they remade the order and to our surprise, added the wrong weight portion at no extra charge. Because of that, I did not post of what felt like the kitchen cheating the customer. Today, we returned. I had a free Chicken Tender coupon so after running 12 miles felt it was a good time to use the coupon, enjoy a margarita and my favorite, crawfish. Thinking yesterday was a fluke, we expected the correct portion size. Well, stupid me. Again, the crawfish came out with the portion size smaller than expected. I just asked if my waitress could weigh it. Nothing more, nothing less. The kitchen manager came out and spoke down to me that I do this all the time. And he was NOT going to weigh it. First of all, yesterday was my first time demanding our crawfish and shrimp to be weighed and we were indeed cheated. The way I was spoken to was definitely not appreciated. Being someone who order a a pound of crawfish from different establishments, I know what a pound should look like. Did they weigh the potato and corn as part of the crawfish (or shrimp)? If so this is a new practice and false advertisement. Should we be charged $10,99 a pound with the crawfish or $21.99 pound with the shrimp. We think NOT! The only reason why we come to Willie's is because of the great margarita deals. So, if you are okay with the kitchen at this establishment cheating you on your meal, feel free to come here. We will no longer be coming to this Willie's. It is NOT the only Willie's in town. F we get the same treatment at other Willie's then it is a Corporate issue and we will eat elsewhere. Stay tune for my update. Yes, I really would love to hear from a higher level Manager. And, please teach them some etiquette. Don't be RUDE to customers.
