Came here couple weeks ago for friend's birthday party. Finding parking here was real easy. The restaurant reserved a few tables for the party. The waitress was attentive and checked on everyone frequently I ordered the Blazin Glory Wings which I thought was really good. I did not care for the queso they served and recommend getting something else Later on, I asked them to put on the Yankee game and changed the channel at my request. Just wish there was a better outcome to the game. At night when it is colder, you will find that they have some really nice fire pits that you can sit by while enjoying a beer. I recommend this restaurant for good service and good chicken wings.

    Boodreaux's Clothesline Bacon (Thick)

I'll be honest -- I saw the mixed reviews and almost hesitated... but I'm so glad I didn't. I truly think it comes down to timing and consistency, because my experience? A solid five stars all around. Was the food out of this world? Maybe not mind-blowing, but it was really, really good -- the kind of meal that hits the spot and makes you think about that bacon long after you've left. Let's get into it: Boodreaux's Clothesline Bacon - Ridiculously thick-cut, smoked, whiskey brown sugar-candied bacon. Absolutely phenomenal. Sweet, smoky, salty perfection. Beef Stew Burger - Tender beef, rich gravy, and spicy banana peppers. Comfort food meets creativity -- it works way better than you'd expect. Total win. The Lucy Burger - A single patty with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and your choice of mayo or mustard. Simple, satisfying, and done right. Not the best burger in town, but definitely one I'd order again without hesitation. Beyond the food, the vibe here is what really makes it shine -- great drinks, live games on the screens, live music in the background, and a staff that's genuinely friendly and on point. They're also crafting dishes that are their own thing -- not just your standard menu items you see everywhere else. That originality makes the experience feel fresh and fun. So yeah, I'm not letting a few mixed reviews sway me. This place delivered exactly what I wanted: good food, great energy, and an easygoing night out. I'd 100% come back!

    Steak Frites

We went on Memorial Day for the first time. Our server Jayden was super friendly and very knowledgeable with all the menu items, I was split deciding on the fried green tomato sandwich and the steak frites. Jee as yarn convinced me on the steak and it was a great choice. The steak was like butter, super moist and tender. The truffle fries flavor was not my favorite but I did eat most of them. My husband had the chicken fried steak. It was a good sized portion and he enjoyed it. Great choices, great service and glad we stopped by. Oh we also had the nachos and they were very good too! Warning, it is a large portion. So share with a group. It was too much for the two of us since we were ordering a meal but perfect as a meal if that is all you have. A great problem to have either way. :) I would definitely recommend.

My husband and I went to check out this place. We were pleasantly surprised, we had the pizza and I had a side salad. We absolutely loved the pizza, my husband tried the pepperoni and I had the Hawaiian. Very tasty, great service by our bartender, the ambience is pretty cool and relaxed. We'll definitely be back, they have specials every day.

    Naked wings (big red)

Couple coworkers and I looking for a place to grab beers and wound up eating dinner here and then staying later for the Astros/Rangers game. And it was on a Tuesday meaning Tuesday's $2.25 bottles. How lucky we got on that! Food-wise, this is a burger/wing/bar food place but there's some southern dishes (mostly fried) that are unique that I wish most other places would start serving. Couple appetizers we tasted were the fried green tomatoes and the chicken fried deviled eggs. Both were simply awesome. The tomatoes were fried nicely with a tasty seasoned batter. Never thought about frying deviled eggs but it was better than I could imagine with the eggs being tender with a crunch and topped with the pickled onions. As for entrees, we all ordered wings. I got naked wings (big red), the other got breaded (luchador - lemon pepper mixed with buffalo) and the other got boneless (lemon pepper). The wings weren't bad, the big red flavor was practically a cinnamon-ey red sweet sauce, like the big red gum. Both the other guys enjoyed the lemon pepper and luchador. I noticed the boneless and breaded wings were much larger than mine. Maybe it's cause I had the naked wings so they weren't inflated. Next time I'll go with a different style if it's gonna be bigger. Also was disappointed they were out of some wing flavors such as the alabama slammer and dr. pepper. Not sure how that happens. Some other sandwich and burger items were crossed out on our menu meaning they were sold out. Is this normal? I read a lot about the drinks/cocktails and them being watered-down. While they looked tasty, the waitress mentioned Tuesdays were $2.25 bottles so we loaded up on those. For miller lite, coors light, and bud light, all bottles are $2.25 on Tuesday; not bad since I enjoy drinking for cheap. They do different happy hour deals each day so depending on what your mood is, plan ahead. Service at the table was a bit lacking since there was only 1 or 2 servers running around. After we finished eating, we moved to the bar area where service was a bit better although most people had already cleared out. The bartender was nice. I mentioned I was collecting bottle caps for an arts/crafts project and she gave me all the ones she was about to discard. Definitely appreciate that. The ambiance it a friendly southern warehouse vibe with cool photos and the layout is some tables/benches with high top trio seating and the bar in the middle. There's also outdoor seating as well. Trivia takes place here, definitely on Tuesdays and some other days. Plus plenty of tvs for sports. Pretty much a bar that defines fun for young and middle-aged people. No doubt I'll be frequenting this when I'm back in San Antonio. Hoping they'll have their items back on the menu!

    Sangria Rita with popsicle

I had won a $25 gift card from @lucycoopersicehouse and we went to visit for dinner tonight. It was hopping with people and Shannon took care of us. First time to sit indoors. I hadn't noticed the pool table before. Dad had Lemonade, Hubby had the Sangria Rita with popsicle, and I had the Smokey Sunrise. We ordered the Onion Ring Basket, Coca Cola BBQ Wings, and Ultimate Hawaiian Pizza to share. Hubby and I shared the Lola's Burger. So much good food! Plenty to take home. Dad kept eating the pizza, he enjoyed it so much. Love the variety of menu items. They're part of the San Antonio Restaurant Gold Club. I had already used up the 2 perks here before. One of the times was for the Tin Can Nachos....yum!

Well, the margaritas were a little bit small, they were very good on national margarita day. We came here with some friends to have a light dinner and drinks and celebrate my friends. Great review! We had burgers and fried pickles, and everything was very good. Drinks were good but like I said a little bit on the small side for the price. But all in all the nice experience.

Hurricanes. In what world does a hurricane look like this?

Zero stars would be more appropriate. My wife and I went for drinks in the late afternoon on my birthday. I do not exaggerate when I say it was the worst drinking experience I have ever had without a fight or arrest being involved. The bartender was, without a doubt, the worst bartender I have ever seen- this includes numerous third world countries. We started with craft cocktails: the Trailerpark Barbi disappointed as much as its namesake. I can't really say if it was supposed to be that bad or if it was just gross incompetence by the aforementioned bartender. Best we went for a round of top-shelf margaritas. They were "meh" at best. Which wouldn't be so bad if they hadn't cost as much as they did. -Wait for the end of the review for that reference. Last drinks we ordered before we just bailed for ANYPLACE ELSE was a couple of hurricanes. You can't really mess up a hurricane, right? WRONG! What we got wouldn't pass for a hurricane in any other bar in the planet. (See pics). It was pink and foamy, and HORRIBLE. It was so bad I told the waitress I would gladly pay for an Uber to take the bartender to Pat O'Briens and pay for a round of hurricanes just so she could understand the depths of her failure. All of this was bad enough. Insult to injury: 6 terrible drinks: $105.00 before tip. We have been long time drinkers at Lucy Cooper's. We have arranged meet-ups with friends there multiple times No more. Lucy's is dead to me. May it suffer the same fate as its New Braunfels location and open a spot for a ln actually good bar. -and, in case you are wondering, our waitress was aware that the bartender was terrible. She was, in fact, joking with us about how terrible the bartender was.

    Deep Fried Mac & Chez
    Kathy S.

The food is good and they give lots of variety. We tried the following: Fried Mac n Chez: Unusual and tasteful. A meal in itself. Very good flavor and top off with a good rasberry like sauce. Korean BBQ WIngs: A tad spicy and tasty. Cup of Gumbo: Excellent. It also comes with its tiny bottle of tabasco, but I would say the flavoring of the gumbo is good enough. Side with the gumbo are some saltine crackers that are spiced up and toasted that make it absolutely flavorful to eat on their own. Drinks: River Water and Boodreaux Punch. Both very good drinks. Service was superb - Niki was always checking on us and ensuring we were doing fine. Ambiance - It was bingo night that started at 8PM. We were there about 6PM. This was the main thing that brought my rating down. - First, water was not served since it was bingo night, if you wanted water you could pay for bottled water only. - Someone, appeared like the bingo person, was prepping the stage mics for the bingo and they kept up/down the volume of the music. I may be wrong who did it, but none the less it was very annoying it went from a very high volume to low. This went on for about 1/2 an hour. ANNOYING. I will say the different TVs and the music videos were excellent when played at a normal level. I definitely would return to this place. The menu offers great choices. I believe wherever I sat I would not be able to avoid the loud playing of music if someone was playing with the volume. However, once adjusted I think the volumen is normal for an ice house.

French onion burger fried green tomatoes house made chicharrones and Shiner strawberry blonde beer
    Cheryl H.

This was our last stop of 10 burger places for SABurger week. We had the French onion burger that we were afraid would be soggy. It was not. Good French onion flavor and nice bun. We also had the fried green tomatoes and house chicharrones that were excellent. Our waitress was one of the Dream Team there-very friendly and attentive. We did not get her name but she was great. Lucy Cooers has pool, conholio games and more. We will probably check out the Dirty Bingo on Wednesday. A wonderful end to our journey the SABurger week. Thanks Current for setting it up.

The Morning Wrecker is basically all of my favorite breakfast foods stacked into one massive sandwich. A perfectly cooked chicken fried steak, crispy hashbrowns, and two over easy eggs sandwiched between a fluffy cat head sized biscuit before being smothered in savory sausage gravy and topped with shredded cheddar cheese. It's definitely a gluttonous meal, but I split it with my buddy and it was absolutely worth the calories and carbs. Every bite delivered exactly what I was hoping for. It's worth stopping by Bobbie's Southern Kitchen for the Morning Wrecker alone, but everything coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic. The service was great and it has that bustling diner feel.

My husband and I had been trying to eat at Bobby's Southern Kitchen for at least 2-3 years. Every time we'd stopped before, the wait was around 2 1/2 hours, and since we were always passing through on our way home to Houston, we never had enough time to stay. This time, we planned our morning around finally getting to eat here. We had spent the weekend in San Antonio and were driving to Dallas before heading home, so we made a point of arriving shortly after opening (a little after 8:00 a.m.). There was no wait, we were seated immediately, and our waitress was wonderful. I wish I could remember her name because she was friendly, attentive, and did everything she could. Our food came out quickly, probably within 15 minutes, but that's where things went downhill. The food wasn't hot. Mine was warm enough to eat, but my husband's breakfast was actually cold. His hash browns were cold, his sausage patties were cold, and since he's someone who really enjoys his food served hot, it immediately ruined the meal for him. We let our waitress know, and she came back to take only the hash browns from his plate. That surprised us because most restaurants would prepare a fresh order rather than reheating part of the original meal. When the hash browns came back, they still weren't hot enough, so unfortunately they didn't solve the problem. For me, the food itself actually had good flavor. I ordered the sausage biscuit with soft scrambled eggs, sausage patties, and a side of grits. The biscuit was good, the eggs were cooked just the way I like them, and the grits were honestly one of the best parts of the meal. They were creamy, had a great consistency, and were well-seasoned with really good flavor. If everything had been served hotter, I honestly think I would have loved my breakfast. My husband ordered a simple breakfast with eggs over medium, toast, sausage patties, and hash browns. I don't necessarily think the food itself was bad I think serving it cold completely changed his experience. What makes this especially disappointing is that we arrived shortly after opening, so we expected everything to be fresh and piping hot. I honestly don't know what happened that morning, but after waiting years to finally try Bobby's, it just didn't live up to the anticipation. The service was excellent, the food had good flavor, and I truly wanted to love this place. I just can't overlook being served a breakfast that wasn't hot, especially first thing in the morning. I hope this was just an off day because I'd like to believe our experience wasn't the norm.

It was very uncomfortable after a while. Now the food. I am not only a healthcare professional but an extremely seasoned cook for over 40 years. The empanadas were good although I question if they were handmade. The goat cheese salad was very good although over dressed, swimming in dressing. My main course of the smoked eggplant & goat cheese ravioli was really unpleasant. First, mine looked nothing like the pictures shown. I had only 4 raviolis with few tomatoes, barely any mushrooms and swimming in a ton of 'extremely' salty broth that made it uneatable. The saltiness covered any taste of goat cheese and not sure where the eggplant was in this dishes filling. I should have taken a picture but forgot. The cocktails for happy hour were a small amount. My guest cooks salmon all the time and she said it was just okay. I shared this with the server, and he made excuses in less than an understandable way. I asked what the broth was and he did not know. It tasted like salted box broth. I asked for club soda, and I was given a chilled can of HEB club soda poured in a glass. Then the manager came in (I assume) and asked how our experience was and I shared with him about the ravioli. No comp, just sorry. I did leave the appropriate tip but please do not tell me these 'chefs' are from all around the world. I have had culinary experiences all around the world and this place is overpriced and a wannabe 5-star restaurant. Those who gave 5 stars either do not know good food, do not know how to cook, or went at a better time. Very disappointed and will not return.

I finally put it on this year's schedule and planned to go with a group of ten. But, as the day drew nearer, folks just started cancelling for various reasons, until we finally ended up with a party of five today. When we arrived, I was surprised at just how much of a "bar and grill" this was. I started getting nervous about the food. I know we've all been to bars that had horrible food before. Fortunately, this is not one of those bars. The food here was really good. We started with an order of fried mushrooms served with gravy and deviled eggs. I'm not a fan of fried food, but the others all seemed to enjoy them. There was a huge mound of them that all but disappeared. I opted for the deviled eggs- one of my favorite foods. These were topped with a crunchy strip of bacon and served with a pile of pickled jalapeno slices. The were super delicious! On our member's recommendation, I tried the orange chicken served with fried rice for my entree, as did two others. I was overwhelmed with the gobs of food the server sat in front of me. There were at least twenty bite-sized nuggets of chicken sitting on top of a bed of fried rice. That bed was obviously a California King! They were lightly covered in the orange sauce, but still crunchy. It was a very satisfying meal. I had the other half for supper, and it was almost as delicious heated up in the microwave. One of our people had a pepperoni pizza. It was probably about 18". The crust was amazingly thin. It just looked awesome to me. My friend enjoyed it, but carried a lot home with her. The fifth person in our group had the Reuben sandwich. She said it was delicious, but was put off by the amount of fat on the meat. Encore makes their own pastrami. The chef explained to her that the fat on the pastrami was what most people thought made it such a delicious meat. I know it looked great to me.
