We had grilled chicken tenders (juicy and actually tender) tossed in Voodoo dry rub. 10/10. The chicken fried steak is also excellent. Good breading. Smashed potatoes are a perfect accompaniment. The only fail was the fries. Shoestring - check. Peels on - check. Crispy? Nope. Soggy The southern green beans were awesome, and the cream gravy on the CFS was sublime. Stopped by after a run. This was our first visit. We tried the Chicken fried deviled eggs and Mom's meatball sandwich (Happy Hour special). Both were delicious but because I didn't have my reading glasses, I mistakenly thought there was a tiny pice of fried chicken on top of the egg whites. Instead, the egg white is breaded and fried. LOL. It was delicious but not enough protein for me so I ordered the 4 piece chicken tenders. OMG, the pieces of chicken were huge compared to with elsewhere. I had a very good experience here. The drinks were made very well. I had the banana bread shooter and the vanilla espresso martini. I got the ribs and tender combo to eat. They were the biggest and best chicken tenders I ever had. The breading was seasoned to perfection. Came here couple weeks ago for friend's birthday party. Finding parking here was real easy. The restaurant reserved a few tables for the party. The waitress was attentive and checked on everyone frequently I ordered the Blazin Glory Wings which I thought was really good. I did not care for the queso they served and recommend getting something else Later on, I asked them to put on the Yankee game and changed the channel at my request. Just wish there was a better outcome to the game. At night when it is colder, you will find that they have some really nice fire pits that you can sit by while enjoying a beer. We went on Memorial Day for the first time. Our server Jayden was super friendly and very knowledgeable with all the menu items, I was split deciding on the fried green tomato sandwich and the steak frites. Jee as yarn convinced me on the steak and it was a great choice. The steak was like butter, super moist and tender. The truffle fries flavor was not my favorite but I did eat most of them. My husband had the chicken fried steak. It was a good sized portion and he enjoyed it. Great choices, great service and glad we stopped by. Oh we also had the nachos and they were very good too! Warning, it is a large portion. So share with a group. It was too much for the two of us since we were ordering a meal but perfect as a meal if that is all you have. Couple coworkers and I looking for a place to grab beers and wound up eating dinner here and then staying later for the Astros/Rangers game. And it was on a Tuesday meaning Tuesday's $2.25 bottles. How lucky we got on that! Food-wise, this is a burger/wing/bar food place but there's some southern dishes (mostly fried) that are unique that I wish most other places would start serving. Couple appetizers we tasted were the fried green tomatoes and the chicken fried deviled eggs. Both were simply awesome. The tomatoes were fried nicely with a tasty seasoned batter. Never thought about frying deviled eggs but it was better than I could imagine with the eggs being tender with a crunch and topped with the pickled onions. As for entrees, we all ordered wings. I got naked wings (big red), the other got breaded (luchador - lemon pepper mixed with buffalo) and the other got boneless (lemon pepper). The wings weren't bad, the big red flavor was practically a cinnamon-ey red sweet sauce, like the big red gum. Both the other guys enjoyed the lemon pepper and luchador. I noticed the boneless and breaded wings were much larger than mine. Maybe it's cause I had the naked wings so they weren't inflated. Next time I'll go with a different style if it's gonna be bigger. Also was disappointed they were out of some wing flavors such as the alabama slammer and dr. pepper. Not sure how that happens. Some other sandwich and burger items were crossed out on our menu meaning they were sold out. Is this normal? I read a lot about the drinks/cocktails and them being watered-down. While they looked tasty, the waitress mentioned Tuesdays were $2.25 bottles so we loaded up on those. For miller lite, coors light, and bud light, all bottles are $2.25 on Tuesday; not bad since I enjoy drinking for cheap. They do different happy hour deals each day so depending on what your mood is, plan ahead. Service at the table was a bit lacking since there was only 1 or 2 servers running around. After we finished eating, we moved to the bar area where service was a bit better although most people had already cleared out. The bartender was nice. I mentioned I was collecting bottle caps for an arts/crafts project and she gave me all the ones she was about to discard. Definitely appreciate that. The ambiance it a friendly southern warehouse vibe with cool photos and the layout is some tables/benches with high top trio seating and the bar in the middle. There's also outdoor seating as well. Trivia takes place here, definitely on Tuesdays and some other days. Plus plenty of tvs for sports. Pretty much a bar that defines fun for young and middle-aged people. I hadn't noticed the pool table before. Dad had Lemonade, Hubby had the Sangria Rita with popsicle, and I had the Smokey Sunrise. We ordered the Onion Ring Basket, Coca Cola BBQ Wings, and Ultimate Hawaiian Pizza to share. Hubby and I shared the Lola's Burger. So much good food! Plenty to take home. We were in San Antonio to celebrate Hubby's Dads 83rd birthday and came here four to five different evenings. Bobby Jo, Alex and Isabelle were our servers mostly but one other sweet female served us and i regret I forgot her name. I feel it might be Maddie. All servers were very attentive. Alex (male) was the bartender and incredibly attentive, helpful and professional. All three lady servers took excellent care of us and from what we observed, their other guests. We sat outside at the comfy booths which offered three tvs available to view your favorite sports teams. Inside you have a three sided bar, pool table, darts, video games and plenty of seating. The restaurant is only available to patrons 21 and older so that can be a negative if you just wanted to try the food. You need to be of age for food and alcohol so now you know. We tried a few different appetizers, but none really stood out until we tried the fried okra. It is excellent and could take care of a four top table with ease as liberal portion size. The wings were cooked to order but their sauce choices don't compare to other well known wing spots. So they are good, just not special. Happy Hour is M-Thurs 2-7, Friday 2-9 and all day Saturday. Sutter Home is the house wine ($5) and both tasty and a good price. Wells are $3, so excellent price and select drafts are $4 pints. Honestly, we recommend the vibe, service and the outstanding fried okra along with watching your fav teams while enjoying happy hour. I do not exaggerate when I say it was the worst drinking experience I have ever had without a fight or arrest being involved. The bartender was, without a doubt, the worst bartender I have ever seen- this includes numerous third world countries. We started with craft cocktails: the Trailerpark Barbi disappointed as much as its namesake. I can't really say if it was supposed to be that bad or if it was just gross incompetence by the aforementioned bartender. Best we went for a round of top-shelf margaritas. They were "meh" at best. Which wouldn't be so bad if they hadn't cost as much as they did. -Wait for the end of the review for that reference. Last drinks we ordered before we just bailed for ANYPLACE ELSE was a couple of hurricanes. You can't really mess up a hurricane, right? WRONG! What we got wouldn't pass for a hurricane in any other bar in the planet. (See pics). It was pink and foamy, and HORRIBLE. It was so bad I told the waitress I would gladly pay for an Uber to take the bartender to Pat O'Briens and pay for a round of hurricanes just so she could understand the depths of her failure. All of this was bad enough. Insult to injury: 6 terrible drinks: $105.00 before tip. We have been long time drinkers at Lucy Cooper's. We have arranged meet-ups with friends there multiple times No more. Lucy's is dead to me. The food is good and they give lots of variety. We tried the following: Fried Mac n Chez: Unusual and tasteful. A meal in itself. Very good flavor and top off with a good rasberry like sauce. Korean BBQ WIngs: A tad spicy and tasty. Cup of Gumbo: Excellent. It also comes with its tiny bottle of tabasco, but I would say the flavoring of the gumbo is good enough. Side with the gumbo are some saltine crackers that are spiced up and toasted that make it absolutely flavorful to eat on their own. Drinks: River Water and Boodreaux Punch. Both very good drinks. Service was superb - Niki was always checking on us and ensuring we were doing fine. Ambiance - It was bingo night that started at 8PM. We were there about 6PM. This was the main thing that brought my rating down. - First, water was not served since it was bingo night, if you wanted water you could pay for bottled water only. - Someone, appeared like the bingo person, was prepping the stage mics for the bingo and they kept up/down the volume of the music. I may be wrong who did it, but none the less it was very annoying it went from a very high volume to low. This went on for about 1/2 an hour. ANNOYING. I will say the different TVs and the music videos were excellent when played at a normal level. I definitely would return to this place. The menu offers great choices. I believe wherever I sat I would not be able to avoid the loud playing of music if someone was playing with the volume. This was our last stop of 10 burger places for SABurger week. We had the French onion burger that we were afraid would be soggy. It was not. Good French onion flavor and nice bun. We also had the fried green tomatoes and house chicharrones that were excellent. Our waitress was one of the Dream Team there-very friendly and attentive. We did not get her name but she was great. I had seen Lucy Cooper's Ice House while driving in both New Braunfels and San Antonio so I figured it was time to stop in this past weekend. When my friend and I arrived around 5:30PM on Saturday, it wasn't that crowded except for around the bar and they had live music playing (which was a bit too loud). As a note, they take your card for you to open a tab as you arrive and it's not a place you pay at the end. Although the place was pretty empty... it took a very long time to get a server to come over/ to get a menu. I actually ended up going up to the bar to ask for napkins so that I could clean our table since they hadn't done that. When our server finally came over, we ordered two waters, a spiked slushie (mint julep flavor) and a beer. 1) The waters never came 2) The slushie tasted great but didn't taste (or feel) like it had any alcohol in it BUT $5 is a great price for a cocktail while out 3) Beer was your regular beer When the drinks finally did come (after a crazy amount of time), our server just dropped the drinks off and walked away so I had to call out to her and ask if we could order an appetizer. She reluctantly took the order and then walked away. After about an hour of being there, we finally got our appetizer of fried pickles. We got to pick between dill pickles and bread & butter so we went with the dill. The pickles were very thin but tasted good when paired with ranch. While we had intended to order dinner and more drinks... our server informed us shift change was happening so she closed out our tab and told us to have a good night. At this point, the service had been so poor... we were not about to reopen a tab and order more. We finished our drinks/food and left. I haven't written a review in a minute. Then I saw something here that inspired me to write. That neon is from the movie Cocktail, and symbolized Tom Cruise's desire to open his perfect bar. I've met the owners (and their son) and this is their passion. The food is ridiculous. This is the Mississippi loaded fries but we've eaten deviled eggs, a strong ass burger, a BLT, and the nachos. Everything is great bar food I'd rather eat at in shorts than throwing a blazer on and spending $60 on something French fusion. My hairstylist recommended this spot based on the $10 Shrimp Boil special on today and the cool vibe of the spot based on the open feel and love music. The first chance we got, my husband I made our way about 25 minutes from the house to check it out. Well, I wanted to love the place based off of her recommendation, but it was just "okay." The shrimp boil lacked any kind of seasoning other than what was sprinkled on before it was brought out. So, it was more like a warm shrimp cocktail appetizer than anything. The triple dip appetizer that we purchased was bland, too. It came with Texas Caviar, cheese dip and salsa, and literally everything needed a dash of salt. The one meal that saved the day was my husband's fried catfish meal. It was served piping hot and he said the seasoning was on point. Yay!!! I was starting to get worried. As for the cocktails, my husband ordered his typical vodka and cranberry, so can't mess that up too badly. I chose the jalapeño pineapple Mexican martini...and it was a bust! Too much simple syrup made it to sweet for me, especially considering I was expecting a hint of spice. There was none. So very very disappointed in our visit today. We have always enjoyed our service (and food) until today. 13 groups of people in 50+ group setting. 5 servers standing around laughing and huddling. Our server Ali was MIA most all of our visit. Ask for Tabasco 3 times before in was provided with no apologies. Ali left with no information about who would take over. Saw her leave to the parking lot and left wondering. This didn't appear to be an urgent need to leave as her and 3-4 other servicers reviewed tabs etc before she disappeared. A simple ' I'm leaving and this is who will be taking over' would have sufficed. I'm frustrated with the experience. The food today is terrific as always. Service today is subpar. i really enjoyed this place! i got one of the signature drinks, the river water, and the donut burger. i loved both of them, so tasty. My boyfriend was not a fan of his chicken sandwich, but it was specifically because he doesn't like too much sweet in his savory dishes, and lucy coopers adds sugar to quite a few of their dishes.
