Best tune for a snowboard that I have ever received. Usually I take my board in there once a year to get all of the major p-tex work done and every time I get back a board that looks top-notch. I try to tune my boards as much as possible on my own, but these guys are experts and well worth the cash. read more

Was in CO for a ski trip and was stoked to find that EVO had a store in Denver. Stopped by before catching a flight, hoping to get 3 things. I ended up coming away with a sweet pair of DPS skis that I had been eyeing. They didn't have the bindings I wanted nor the size of boots that I needed. But John helped me out and gave me a lot of good info that I will use when the new 2019-2020 models come out later this year. Service was great and John was able to answer all of my questions. I came away feeling more informed on what I should look for in a boot. Will definitely get my bindings and boots from EVO when they are in stock! read more

I needed a new seatpost for a new bike I had just bought and Evo had the one I wanted. They had no problem price-matching an online sale that I pointed them to. I noticed how helpful and friendly the staff was around me as other team members helped out other customers. I really wish I had purchased that new bike here instead. read more

I'm new to the bike ownership world, so I'm sure a lot of places offer similar services?? But one thing I've noticed about other bike shops when I've been browsing is that they are all either 1) rude, 2) ignore you, or 3) only want to deal with people who know a lot about bikes and already own an awesome one. That being said, this place has GREAT customer service. I've been there twice and if one worker was busy at the register, someone would come from the back to make sure everyone was being helped. Might not seem like a big deal, but I guess I've run into some strange bike shops. They also fixed my tire in about 3 minutes and had me on my way. read more

While this is my first time actually using their services, I have been recommended to them by many people who are in the 'bike world' :) I love supporting my locally owned businesses for many reasons, one of which is that the service is usually friendlier, fairer (is that a word?haha), and more prompt. Bike Doctor did not disappoint on any of those levels. I walked in and was greeted very warmly even though there were two other customers in this tiny space. They looked at my bike (it was a minor issue), fixed it, and even checked it quickly for other possible trouble areas and I was on my way in 5 minutes. No charge. I will definitely be back when I need more extensive work done on the bike and I'm glad to be able to support the bike shop around the corner. read more

This place seems to be pretty hit or miss with customer service. I recently went in to have bindings put on my new skis, and the guy behind the counter basically treated me like I was a nuisance. I had spoken with someone there the day before that said I could get the bindings put on same day if I arrived first thing. So I did, and the guy at the counter tried to charge me $15 extra for rush service. Then proceeded to be as rude as possible with every other aspect of the transaction. When I went to pick my skis up - same thing, but a little worse. Basically completely ignoring every question I had, and when pressed for an answer it was an incoherent grunt. Wow so helpful! Really poor costumer service makes me doubt the integrity of their work. There are just too many bicycle and ski shops in Denver to bother giving business to a place that finds it acceptable to treat customers like crap. There is one reason Edgeworks/Bike Doctor does not get five stars. I took my bike in for a pre-season tune-up and specifically asked them to check my rear brakes (because I'd been having problems with them at the end of last season) and to double check my rear tire (because despite replacing the inner tube a half dozen times it still persistently leaks). (Please don't point out that I should just buy a better set of tires, I know I should, and I'm saving for them now. Kevlar don't grow on trees.) Here's why they get the other four stars. 1. They're not bike-shop-dickheads. It may just be Denver, or it may be the decline in the market viability of the independent record store, but the "bike store employee" is the new "record store guy" (i.e. Jack Black in High Fidelity). They don't talk down to you. They don't assume you're stupid just because you have to pay them to fix your bike. They actually make recommendations that are sensible. They're more than willing to guide you to toward their less expensive services. 2. They give quick turnaround estimates and they stick to their estimates. They said my bike would be ready Tuesday by four. I went in at five and my bike was on the pick up rack next to the register, ready to go. All I had to do was pay and leave. 3. They're cheap. Despite their short comings noted above, they did a great job on my bike at a really reasonable price. Granted, they don't guarantee their work like some other shops. read more

For the most part I'm a huge fan of Edge Works. Their definitely a small business type and their shop has personality. They work fast and they their prices are VERY reasonable. They've even The only things that I could say are these two things (constructive criticism). One is they got a little bit of the "bike aficionado" attitude. Maybe I walked in at a bad time, I know everybody has long days. However they could be a little more friendly. The second is that I've had the same bike tire go flat four times in a row. Recently it went flat just 3 days after I had them repair it w/ a whole new tube replacement. Maybe it's just my bad luck, but there might be something seriously wrong with my bike they aren't noticing. Other than that I feel almost harsh giving them only 4 stars. $60 for a basic tune is a rip off. Any place that is trying to charge people $15 to remove 8 screws in snowboard bindings is just trying to rip people off. Luckily, I know how to remove my own bindings (it's easy you should too). I also know better than to pay $60 for this basic service. Clearly they are set up to take advantage of tourists. I rode the 2018 Ride the Rockies on a Giant Defy Advance 2 rented from EVO. I rode all the legs and the optional Berthoud Pass for a total of some 450 miles. I had zero problems with the bike. It was brand new when I got it. EVO allowed me to use my Power Tap Pedals and saddle which they installed for me. They took the time to fit the bike to me before the ride. They were on the route and at the finish, ready to assist. If I have to rent a bike again for RTR, I would not hesitate to rent from EVO. read more

One of the edges on my GNU Rider's Choice was separating from my deck for no apparent reason (i.e., no shots etc). The board was purchased in Montana, but I stopped by evo to get a repair estimate. The staff was straight forward in letting me know that the repair likely wouldn't make economic sense. They took the initiative to pursue a warranty claim with Mervin, despite the fact my board was long past the warranty window. I received numerous calls/emails from Alex - providing updates throughout the process. In the end, Mervin replaced my deck with a new, sexy gnar guitar free of charge. The people at evo understand the foundation of a good business - customer service. Despite never setting foot in their store before dropping my deck off for inspection, I was treated as someone of importance. Definitely not the condescending bra-bro board shop treatment I've experienced in the past. Alex is a knowledgeable asset to the company (a.k.a badass). Before I review the store in general, let me say that the reason it gets 5 stars is because of Bradford. He is as knowledgeable about snow gear as they come and he spent over an hour with me on boot fitting. The advice and knowledge he shared with me made me rethink my approach to snowboard gear. Customer service is a confusing thing to define. It needs to be more than just being polite. Bradford displayed customer service with the way he patiently shared information and made sure that my questions and concerns were answered. I knew he wanted to sell me the right product. He is an expert in his field and I need to say thank you again to him for his time. The store lived up to expectations. This was my first time into an Evo retail store after shopping with them online for years. The selection in the store is fine but you have access to order anything in their online catalogue as well, making the choices endless. They prices are good, especially the sale items from the web site, which they will honor in the store. The other employees I interacted with were also helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. It's the best snow sports shop in Denver as far as I'm concerned. read more

I'm giving it 4 stars as the inventory is pretty limited, at least in the female dept. I'm used to going to the Seattle store, and was surprised that Denver was a bit of a downgrade being a bigger snow town. The salespeople are helpful and friendly here, which is a quality that usually determines how likely I am to support a business. With that said, it is good to know I can check online if an item is available in store or could return an online item locally without hassle. read more

Very convenient with easy access to the Cherry Creek Bike Trail. Staff was very helpful. The price was very reasonable to the low end of rentals I've rented in various other cities around the world. The bike selection was really good too. Not real high end brands, but rentals rarely are. The variety of types was really good for thought. Easy cruising bikes to Hybrids or road bikes. I went in to have some air put in my tires and the owner told me that my tires were rotted. I took a look and they looked in bad shape so I agreed to get some new ones. The owner gave me a discount on these yellow tires no one seemed to be buying (20 each), but told me I'd have to come back the next day to get the bike. Then they called and said my rear wheel hub was cracked and I needed a new wheel and hub, I had been wanting to convert from gears to a single speed, so it seemed like as good a time as any (cost was quoted at around 70). So the total price I was expecting to pay was around 110, but when the work was complete it had ballooned up to 180. The extra money was for service, but I thought the quoted prices included service. That is probably just a miscommunication, but I appreciate transparency, so they can do better in that area. They were doing updates on the shop so they were closed for a week when I wanted to get the bike, but I won't fault them for that, the new shop is much bigger and that was a one time inconvenience. What I was disappointed with was that when I rode me bike off the chain was rubbing against an old piece of equipment that changes the front gears on a geared bike (now useless on the single speed setup). It took me an allen wrench, wire cutter and 3 minutes to take off myself, so I wasn't too upset about it. The staff is nice, helpful and accommodating, and my bike rides better now than it ever has (with my own little quick fix). The only think that kept this from being a 5 star experience was them not taking 3 minutes to put the finishing touches on an otherwise well done repair, and the miscommunication about the price. read more

I have been ripped off twice by this bike shop, by two separate sets of employees. The first time, I came in to fix a flat tire. They replaced the entire tire, and it went flat the very next day. The second time, I returned to fix my flat tire, and I had my ripped gears 'fixed' for a charge of 20 bucks. They became 'unfixed' . . . ON THE WAY HOME from the shop. I may not be the classiest cat, and my bike has certainly seen better days, but I have the money and I deserve the same service as any cycling yuppie who walks through that door. read more

If you're renting a bike in Denver, this is the place to go. Easy to get to and plenty of dedicated parking behind the shop. We rented a couple mountain bikes and the friendly staff had the bikes ready to roll and the suspension set to our specifications in no time. All we had to do was load up and head to the trailhead. Returning the bikes was even easier - just drop them off and away you go. And every great bike shop needs a great bike shop dog. I came into evo as a complete ski noob. I had memorized the exact terms of what I needed for my skis and boots so I wouldn't be taken advantage of by someone overselling to me. But every single person who worked with me and helped me was so patient and friendly and understanding. I spent ~2 hours with Kevin. I had bought some questionable ski boots off Craigslist and Kevin fit me with liners and walked me through every step of the process. I never felt like he was frustrated by my ineptitude or my confusion. I could tell he was very nervous for me, but he also respected that I didn't want to spend an exorbitant amount yet. I walked out and immediately texted my friend that I would've spent my life savings there if I could. It was also super COVID safe! I wore two masks but they also had very clear guidelines and limits, so I wasn't freaked out being in there for 3 hrs. read more

Absolutely amazing staff. They go above and beyond the norm. Hands down best place to get gear in town. I've bought snowboards, boots, clothing, gear and easily dropped a good amount of $$$$ here. The sales crew is very knowledgeable about what they're talking about and great at making recommendations. I've also had some equipment failure and had to deal w warranty stuff. Super nice shop with all the best goodies for your adrenaline needs. Unfortunately you can't run a business based on looks. Heads up evo team, your in a business that revolves around customer service. I dropped off two pairs of skis to get tuned up last week and had some questions about an older set of bindings. I know that there is a huge liability issue with older bindings and I was trying to figure out if the skis are worth putting money into. When I asked the employee all he could say was that I would have to sign a liability waiver if I wanted them to work on the bindings. I told him I wasn't asking him to do anything to the bindings just if he thought the skis are worth putting money into. He then said it was my choice and they weren't skis he would ever get on. I guess this isn't the place to get help with things you might not know or understand. Do your research before heading in and you'll be pumped on all the cool stuff they have. One last thing. On the window of the store it say "BUILDING COMMUNITY" you might want to reassess the word community and how one might help to build that. read more
