We tried multiple times to register for swim lessons and had an incredibly frustrating experience. After calling three times, I finally spoke with the director, John, who admitted the pre-registration links on their newly redesigned website are broken and that this was a known issue. Unfortunately, the staff I spoke with prior to John were dismissive and unhelpful, simply directing me back to a website that doesn't work. It's discouraging to see so many positive reviews when new customers are unable to register at all. If you collect contact information and even credit card details but have no functional way to complete registration, it undermines trust and credibility. A business that cannot prioritize basic customer service and onboarding--especially when parents are trying to ensure safety and instruction for their children--misses the mark entirely. We enrolled our boys at EVO after seeing the many positive reviews, but unfortunately our experience has been very disappointing. Both of our boys are on the spectrum, and while my younger son was having some difficulty focusing in the water (which is to be expected given how much he loves it), the instructor's reaction was completely inappropriate. During the last session, the instructor was visibly upset--rolling his eyes and even looking up at the ceiling in frustration. No parent should ever have to witness that kind of behavior directed at their child, especially a child on the spectrum who needs patience and support. To make matters worse, when we called to cancel and withdraw our kids from the program, the staff member we spoke with didn't even ask why we were leaving or show any concern at all. That lack of care and understanding was just as disappointing as what we saw during lessons. Parents of children with autism, please think twice before enrolling your kids here. We all want an environment that offers patience, care, and encouragement, and unfortunately EVO did not provide that for our family. We will not be returning. read more

I still love evo. Esp for the price compared to ISR rates I'll happily stay here. Now that I have another little one that needs to learn how to swim my daughter who is 2 loves it. She started right before two and has never had any problems besides being sleepy and fussy about her nap schedules. So when people say "OH MY GOD THEY WATERBOARD YOUR KIDS" it all depends on the kids temperament and what they can handle. Both my kids are perfectly fine here. Also particular staff makes a HUGE difference. Believe me I've been here for well over 2 years minimum going on 3 if not longer. We have seen the staff turnaround snd there are personalities that work your kids and there are some that don't. That's when you switch teachers. We have done that with our son since he was younger. He stopped going because he is 5 and knows how to swim now. We only had him in swim as Something fun. But there's some people Who take it VERY SERIOUS like you are in the navy. So that's when we pulled the plug for our son. My kids are very goofy. So as long as my kids can swim that's the goal. Some peoples reviews are funny. I'd like to See those people put their kids in ISR and tell me they won't panic then. This is nothing compared to just dropping your kid in the pool. read more

We love Evo swim school. One of our friends recommended this place for our then 3 year old. Now, he is 4 years and it's been wonderful. The staff, the instructors are all super friendly. The school is very clean and organized. Like any teachers the subs are always filling up. The makeup classes are just alright but if u find the right instructor for your kid, they do the best. It takes a while from one level to another. But, once u are regular and the kid figures out, it can go quick. The pricing is reasonable, with the recent inflation there has been price changes. Happy they offer makeup classes. Overall it's a nice swim school and happy with this branch. read more

We love EVO! My girls have had a wonderful time at Evo. The teachers are focused and pay attention to stroke very well. We've had some amazing swim instructors. There are indoor and outdoor showers but the changing room is communal with stalls, and individualized gender restrooms. Ample seating indoors, but somewhat limited outdoors. The outdoor pool has shade canopies than span over it. Private parking with a dirt lot overflow. Friendly staff and I like how you can text absences and also give you credit for absences to complete a make up at a later date. read more

I started taking my oldest daughter to EVO when she was 8months old. She went through all of the lessons and now, at age 9, swims with the RIO Swim Club (D1). I have a 3 and 4 year old who both swim at EVO now. One is an Otter and the other is a Porpoise. We've loved everyone we've interacted with at EVO and RIO. Tyler and Jesse are great at running the front desk at EVO and are always there with a smile to greet the kids. Coach Lexie has created a bond with my 4 year old that is so strong it's literally visible. He trusts her completely and has FLOWN through the last three levels. Patrick and Stephanie have been AMAZING coaches for the RIO Swim Team. Their passion and true love for the kids is inspiring. Both of them are kind, fun, and so interactive with the kids. They push the kids and help them develop confidence and strength in the water (and out)! I highly recommend EVO and RIO. My child is a human made of waterworks. She could take on all requirements asked of her, but her fears take over prior to every single class. Tears galore!! We were lucky enough to be matched with coach Soliel for the first 2 months and she not only dealt with the tears, but helped my child work through and face her fears. There were so many times I just wanted to go grab my child and leave, but the coach also assured me that it would get better. We are 4 months in now, and to this day, I'm forever grateful for the coaches that go out there and teach these life lessons to our children. We now have coach Jesse once a week and coach Soliel once a week and my child is set to level up again this/next week. Love this swim school! I have 2 kids enrolled here, my 2 year old and 7 year old. Both kids have had a great experience, and are improving with every class. My 7 year old was already a decent swimmer but now has gained serious speed abs learning butterfly and Breaststroke. **Please Read** As a parent, I am extremely upset. My son had a substitute teacher today, Sophia. I made sure to come in, before his lesson started, and introduce myself and my son. I explained to her three things: 1) My son had been dunked at another swim school and was extremely afraid of putting his head under water 2) We are just taking things slow, and I am fine with that 3) He is very, very new. Sophia proceeded to be extremely rough with my kiddo, to the point that I made them unlock the door and let me in when she was trying to physically force his head backwards to float! My son has been attending the introductory class for a year now. Each week, we receive the same story, "he's really close to graduating, just need to work on one thing." When I inquired about noticing he is regressing and asked for suggestions on what can be done, the employee overseeing the instructors said she would need to watch my son next week to come up with a plan of action. Well, the next week arrived and she had to be sought out and reminded of our discussion the week prior. There was no intention of following up. My son has grown to hate going to swim class and has really regressed in his confidence. I'm really disappointed and upset that they don't seem to care to help my son improve his confidence and swimming ability. When canceling, the front desk staff didn't even batt an eyelash and didn't offer to speak with anyone. Waste of money and time. read more

We decided to take our 19 month old here for swim lessons based on all the positive feedback we got from local parents and we are so happy we did! We started out in the pufferfish class where the parents go in the water with their babies. It only took about a month and a half before our little man graduated up to the next level and now gets to swim with just the instructor and we can sit nice and dry and watch from the sidelines. He totally loves it and it's been so fun watching his confidence and abilities in the water improve. And of course it gives me extra piece of mind since we have a pool in our backyard. The entire staff is extremely friendly and helpful. So far we have had instructors Patrick, Brynn, and Frank, and they're all excellent. Our son loves all of them, but he especially loves and bonded with Patrick. Patrick is so great with the kids and is very enthusiastic about what he does and that enthusiasm is easily spread to the children he teaches. It's fun to watch him interact with everyone in the water and passersby. Overall we're very happy with our decision to go with Evo and we highly recommend them to anyone trying to decide on a Swim School for their children. read more

We LOVE this school. We brought our 5 year old boy here because he was afraid of the water, despite having no bad experiences and a backyard pool of his own. He use to hang out on the baja step in our pool and REFUSE to go in, even with an adult hanging on to him AND floaties. When he found out that we enrolled him in swim school he was not happy. My child is stubborn and that is putting it mildly. He informed me that he would attend, but that he would not participate. His teacher is Ethan, and he is incredible. He really cares about his students and he has a way of connecting with them that eases fears. Ethan got our son to swim, and within about a month he had absolutely no fears and can (and will) now swim independently. He has no problems jumping right on in, and that in itself is amazing. We have had a couple of substitute instructors (which they inform you about via email prior to the lesson), and they were very good as well. This place has the whole package. A fantastic facility, caring instructors, and a really helpful and friendly front desk. You won't be disappointed. read more

We've been coming to their Gilbert & Guadalupe location for a while, but this new location is as nice as the one we're used to. They have both indoor & outdoor pools, a large waiting area, an enclosed changing area, and lots of wonderful instructors and office staff. This location seems to be run in the same spirit of excellence as the other one. Some of their full time instructors share hours between the 2 locations, so it was super nice to see some familiar faces. My kids had a great time and it's nice to have another location option available. Their makeup policy is unmatched, and my kids- though very young- are now safe in water. read more

My daughter has been attending EVO for 3 years and has learned a lot. I like their instruction methods. Facility is very nice and class times are convenient. Staff is not very friendly and heaven forbid you have to re-schedule a class. It would be helpful if you could schedule makeup classes through their website. This way the front desk person doesn't have to search for a class for you. I got the "you're killing me!" Comment when the woman had to find a class that would fit my schedule. After 3 years you would think they would learn your kid's name name after seeing them every week. Yet every week they ask her name. Don't take the last class of the day. They are in such a rush to get out of there. The last class starts late and ends early. And they start stacking the chairs early making you feel guilty for sitting in one. Very good school to learn how to swim. They just need to work on their customer service. read more

He was so great with my shy kids that were nervous for their first swim lessons. He really made the experience a positive one for them! Jessi, the swim team manager, was also incredible! Our oldest kid was in lessons with Jessi and moved up to RIO Swim Club. Jessi knows his stuff and is great with the kids. We would rework our scheduled just so that Jessi would be our kid's coach. Before my son Wyatt started at Evo Swim School, I called to let them know that he likes to run so it would be smart to have someone sit with him on the edge just in case. They were very sweet to accomodate that. Sure enough he tried to run each time! Anyway, his instructor Tyler was so patient with Wyatt's high energy and he was able to learn how to swim with his head under water and various other techniques. We had to stop our membership to Evo due to Wyatt going to school, but we hope to be back some day and really appreciate the staff and awesome instructor Tyler for all their patience. read more

The facility is new and clean with both an indoor pool and a large outdoor pool to accommodate all of its students. Our eldest daughter's instructor Sammy is patient and great with the students. This place is run like a well-oiled machine. The front desk staff is always busy yet friendly. The facility is super clean. Great viewing area. The instructors are knowledgeable and caring, and there are many safety features in place (extra lifeguards, people checking to see that students are in the right lane, etc. I really couldn't ask for more. LOVE this place! My son was 13 months when he started swimming here. He is now 20 months and doing amazing for being still so young. I love that the instructors are constant and not always changing. Thinking all swim lessons were the same I signed up my daughter for swim lessons with the City of Chandler. The time didn't really work with naps and it was chilly some days since it was outdoors. She got to play but I didn't feel she was learning anything especially how to hold her breath. We ended up missing half the classes so it wasn't that cheap in the end. After not finding anymore more through Chandler or Gilbert my husband convinced me to give Evo a try. What a difference! So many times for her age that I found one that worked for naps, it's indoors so no worries about weather or sunscreen, and if we miss one she can make it up. But most importantly she was actually learning swimming skills like holding her breath and holding on to the edge of the pool from day one. The owner has been here for her classes and makes sure that while it's super busy, everything runs with precision which I love and my daughter enjoys herself. read more
