    Chocolate Purse!!!

While the chocolates are beautiful, they were lacking on the flavor. If I'm getting a flavored chocolate I want it to have a punch. A couple of the flavors I could even make out the flavor I was eating. No the frogs that were "turtle" chocolates, those were tasty.

I am absolutely in love with everything that comes out of this shop. I wish I would have know about it earlier. It takes serious effort to not go visit and buy more chocolate every day of the week . This is honestly one of the best chocolates I've ever been to in the states. My favorite is the white chocolate passion fruit.

Prepare to be amazed! Chocolate shop or candy store doesn't even come close to describing this fine establishment. Evolution Artisan Confections has the finest chocolates and pastries I've ever had in my life. They are, by far, the best you'll find in the area. My mom and I were out and about one day and I suggested we stop in and see what this place was all about. I could see the display cases full of delicious looking little chocolates before we even got in the door. Being the lover of fine chocolates that I am, I was grinning from ear to ear like a child on Christmas morning. When we walked in, we were greeted by a very friendly lady who happened to be the wife of the pastry chef who is the mastermind behind all of the artfully created deliciousness. She was very helpful in explaining all about the chocolates and was even kind enough to allow us to sample some of them. These confections are almost too beautiful to eat.....almost. One taste had me hooked. Every single one that we tried in the store and the ones we bought were unbelievably delicious. Like nothing I've ever had before. Everything was so delicious that I had to make a return trip later that same day. This time I had the pleasure of meeting Richard, the chocolatier who creates all of these little gems. He was just as friendly as his wife and he gave samples of his latest batch of fresh caramel, dark chocolate ganache and I believe I was given a sample of his lychee rose ganache also. The things this man does with chocolate and various other ingredients are nothing short of magical. The effort and love that he puts into everything he creates is very evident. If you love chocolate and pastries that are unlike anything else you'll find around here, look no further than Evolution. Everything is masterfully crafted and packaged beautifully. Richard and Suzie are great people with a passion for what they do. Stop in and see the fine folks at Evolution and treat yourself or someone else to a piece of unbelievably delicious edible art.

This place is absolutely fantastic. I went in a few weeks ago for the first time and noticed that just the appearance alone of the chocolates and desserts were just so elegant and neat! I was so excited to try them. Richard, the owner, was working behind the counter and described each and every dessert to me. The care and love that he puts into his creations is amazing. He pays so much attention the all of the small little details of desserts and making them better. For him, it truly is an art. I tried lots of different chocolates and treats from him since then and have never been disappointed! My absolute favorite is Glass of Wine. It's a chocolate he makes with wine inside--just amazing! Hands down the best chocolate I've ever had in my life. Some other favorites are the tarts with Pear and berries. I don't even usually eat berries, but this tart was amazing! The apple caramel bon bons are also delicious! I want to try his S'mores creation next! What I love about coming here is that Richard treats every single customer like family. He will most definitely treat you like a neighbor and a human being and not just a customer or a number. :) Props to Evolution! And I hope they have many more great years ahead of them!

HOT TASTY TREAT, and beautiful too.

First let me say ... there is only 4 stars because I've never been to the store. I received chocolates for Mother's Day. These little gifts are to treasure. Can't wait to visit the store.

It seriously took me about 10 to decide on a dessert. In the end, I got a slice of strawberry cheesecake. I took it to go, knowing that I would eat it in my car. (The best place to eat any food.) I chose cheesecake, because in the end, cheesecake is the illest of the desserts. You can't go wrong with a silky smooth slice o' cake o' cheese. And I wasn't wrong! The cheesecake at Bao's is creamy, yet a little pleasantly gelatinous from the strawberry topping. It was so rich that I couldn't eat it all in my car, so I took it to go to enjoy back at my hotel. Some of the other things I was considering getting at Bao's included the mini tarts, tiramisu cup, raspberry opera cake, turnovers, passionfruit cake and many others. They also have lots of macarons, but I'm not a macaron lady! Try as I might, I do not like macarons, but if you like macarons, then Bao's is the place to find macarons. Mostly, this is a to-go joint, but there are a couple of tables on the outdoor patio, and a table or two inside. When I visited, I only saw people pop in and get their goodies and pop back out.

So nobody answers the phone and the mailbox is full. I guess they are open for business?read more

They had a lot of good-looking flavors and even some vegan ones. I'm not vegan (anymore), but I still like to limit my dairy intake, so I got excited at first when I saw oat milk based ice cream... especially in my favorite flavor - peanut butter & chocolate! BUT... they display their gorgeous waffle cones... FULL of gluten and crumbs... right on. top. of. the ice cream. I think the guy behind the counter saw me start to panic a little when he asked if I'd like a taste and I responded with, "I can't - these are contaminated." I was ready to choose a flavor in another cabinet where there weren't any cones, but the cones probably get moved around in those cases... so I wasn't sure if I could trust any of the flavors. He was a little hard to understand over the noisy patrons (kids ‍), but eventually I realized he said they keep each flavor in the back in clean containers for those with severe allergies. Cue HAPPY FACE!! He went to the back and got the oat milk flavor, then he even washed off the scoop before scooping mine out. I REALLY appreciate the extra effort! So if you have allergies, don't panic... gluten, dairy, nut, whatever it is... just let them know and ask for the good stuff in the back. The ice cream itself was OK - not the best dairy-free I've had - but it was decent. I'm sure their regular flavors are absolutely delicious. Hubs definitely enjoyed his.
