My friends and I came here quite frequently when we were in high school. This was the first time I had been back since then. Same location but they changed the name from Yo-Mazing to Smyle. Still as good as ever. You can't really go wrong with fro-yo! I got a mix of salted caramel and yellow cake batter....so yum! And of course topped it with lots of sweets. The employee was very nice. She greeted us and wished us a happy day when we left. It was pretty dead when we arrived but within 10 minutes there were a bunch of people coming in and out. I really don't understand the 3 star rating for this place! Every time I've gone in it has been clean, bright with a good selection of toppings. The prices are fair and the flavors are always new and exciting. I have never, not once, had a bad expereince in this place. The customer service is incredible and I truly enjoy coming here. The only, ONLY, issue I ever have with this place is how crowded it gets! And that isn't the fault of the shoppe, it's just proof that they are providing a good product. Really, the issue is with the customers who think it's okay to let their children run around and be loud. I understand it's a family place, but, really parents. Other people want to enjoy their yogurt as well. In reading the other reviews I think that some people are just expecting WAY too much out of a small, locally owned shop. It isn't a national chain and it's not going to have the same variety as those. But that's GOOD. Shop local. Support local. Get good yogurt. read more

I had a really good experience at Yo Amazing, when I went there for the first time this past Easter. It is not my favorite frozen yogurt shop, but I would say it ranks about 3 in my book out of 5 places I have tried. Definitely a worthwhile stop for some frozen yogurt if you get a craving while you are in Valpo. I highly recommend the caramel and cake batter flavors mixed which are really superb. However, one of my complaints was it seemed like they just did not have a whole bunch of flavors. I am used to working in a yogurt shop that had 16 different flavors out at once, and true it was chaotic at times, but it definitely gives more variety in that case for a diverse group of consumers. Although I must say if you love your toppings they do have a pretty great selection of those. I must say I was very pleased to see they had cookie dough bits as a topping, because not all places are allowed to carry them for health department concerns, but I am glad they had them at Yo Amazing. Another thing I would like to point out is customer service was not really a huge factor here. Don't get me wrong, yes it is a self-serve place, and all of the staff seemed to be friendly but I felt there could have been just more of an ambiance of customer service to really pull everything together more. Overall though, it was a nice time, nice atmosphere, good yogurt and even better toppings, so if I am in Valpo again and want some yogurt I will definitely be back. read more

Being from Georgia, I have been to many yogurt places and this is my favorite one I've ever been to. Whenever I visit my brother in Valpo, we make sure to take a trip to YoAmazing. Their peanut butter is better than any other froyo place I've tried. And the yellow cake batter cannot be beat. The prices are also very reasonable compared to most dessert places. read more

I am very disgusted at how rudely my child and I were treated yesterday not only by one of your employees but she was a manager at that. I was next door at Clair's with my 3 year old son when he told me he had to go potty, Clair's did not have a restroom so I went to the closest place and that was you guys. I walked in and asked the lady if the restrooms were iin the back and she rudely replied yes. Took my son to the bathroom and as I am walking out holding his hand and him right beside me he grabs a kiwi out of one of the dishes. I explained to him that you don't things like that unless we buy it. As I'm walking to the front to inform the lady she jumps the gun and rudely says with an attitude did he just put his hand in something? I said yes the kiwi, she then huffing and puffing goes and changes the kiwi out. I waited to leave and told her that I would pay for the kiwis that my son has put his hands in. She said no its fine but just for the record next time our bathrooms are for paying customers only! I said I'm sorry I have a 3 year old and he really needed to use the bathroom. She then tell me and then he's putting his hands in things. I said he is a kid things like that happen sometimes. She said well maybe you need watch your kid better. He was right next to me the whole time. Apparently she has no clue that kids a three year old at that don't understand certain things. I was appalled and asked to speak to the manager and she told me rudely again I am the manager and when I said there is no one I can call she said nope. It was a bigger lady very rude an unprofessional. Believe me the word has been spread and I am not the only one who will be complaining. One star for clean store and fresh looking toppings, including some fresh fruit. That is where the compliments end. The yogurt is very artificial tasting, with a chemical type of taste. I have never had frozen yogurt from a shop that tasted this bad. The banana and toasted marshmallow flavors had a horrible aftertaste, despite not being sugar free (you would expect somewhat of an aftertaste with artificial sweetener). One would expect a much more satisfying and natural flavor, given the premium prices charged. I was really hoping that the yogurt here would be top notch, but it just is not. The price was pretty steep as well: I measured out my yougurt: Approximately 1/4 cup of yogurt and then 1/4 cup of fruit toppings: $3.85! Wow. I can get a pint of Ben and Jerry's for that price, and it tastes a heck of a lot better. read more
